  1. Omar I had mentioned to WWW that I felt there was a difference in the engine operation. I could not pinpoint it for you but there is a slight difference. I have also noted a slight change in Fuel Tank Pressure. I will be able to provide more details on Monday after I drive it about 250 miles. I have not yet checked my wife' purge valve, but intend to do so shortly.

I would check that water pump shaft, most likely then replace it.
  3. I thought I was just going to demonstrate how to replace the Evap purge valve on the 2011 Ford Edge 3.5 duratec. Instead I discovered my Purge Valve was actually failing. Every once in a while I get lucky.
  4. Strut mount failure as a rule is hard to visually identify. If your mechanic did not pull the strut and mount off the vehicle and disassemble it then I am not sure how he can say it is good. What are the miles on the struts and bearing mounts. If over 80-90K then your struts and bearing mounts have failed. Go with the updated OEM motorcraft strut bearings and KYB shocks/struts.
  5. Sounds more like a water pump failure. All other issues developed due to the water pump failure.
  6. You reference "overheating" what is the ECT (engine coolant temp) sensor showing you? 196-201 would be a pretty normal temp. 210 in town traffic. At speeds of approximately 50+ miles per hour the fans will shut off due to the air flow generated by moving and the engine coolant temp my hoover around 196-198 degrees. The RPM's will jump when the fans turn on or the AC turns on and will fluctuate slightly (this is normal) You should get a scan tool on the Edge and get some data on this to help determine the issues.
  7. According to the pids I monitor on my 2011 Edge 230 degrees seems to be the kick in point for high temps.
  8. I had a pile of tires laying around to the tune of about 2K dollars worth. Might as well put them to use.
  9. You are supposed to have water coming out of the exhaust it is inherent to the operation of the catalytic converter as a by product you get water. Rotten egg smell? usually a sign that your fuel mixture is too rich and or your cats are burning up/or destroyed.
  10. AC drain location on 2011+ May very well be the same on the 2015+
  11. 2015+ cabin air filter access and location.
  12. Sounds like you have a bad PCM hopefully the place you bought it from has a warranty?
  13. By any chance is the brake pedal really hard when you push on it. When my brake booster was bad I had starting issues just because the brake pedal was so hard to push. The brake pedal should be soft and easy to push down to start the Edge. Ever since replacing the booster starting the Edge has been much easier.
  14. I really like this device and how it can take the guess work out of knowing when you actually need to change the air filter.
  15. A video on the fluid change intervals that work for me and some recommendations.
  16. I tested both of my 2011 Ford Edge Limited's for Carbon Monoxide entering into the cabin. The results were interesting.
  17. Testing for carbon monoxide in both of the 2011's. This was an interesting test and results.
  18. Finally no more chrome clads and have wheels that look decent. IMO. Found new center caps so almost finished.
  19. Glad to see you on the Forum. 1) does it shake when brakes applied? 2) what condition are the tires? 3) The tires were balanced? 4) are they chrome clad wheels? I would say from my experience is the tires are out of balance and if it was due to not being aligned and out of balance you need new tires. You can not correct the wear already imposed on the tires. Chrome clad wheels have pockets under the plastic caps that are over an inch deep and wide that hold dirt along with dirt under the spokes. Really a balancing night mare. Also brand of tires? Cheap tires make for a terrible ride as well as tires with 4/32nds of tread. They just do not ride well once they start wearing out.
  20. Got a sloshing waterfall inside your AC system? This may help clear up the problem.
  21. Never had to go that far. Just be methodical in the process. By the way I bet your could sell the parts you don't use on Ebay. Not all is lost as far as expense.
  22. As with all experiments you discover a weakness. Here is the best way to ensure a good seal and no leaks when you perform a air intake resonator delete.
