Tell them you want the old plugs. You need them for your spark plug collection. I always ask for the old plugs. Granted they could just grab some others but at least you are sending them a message!

Here are some of my experiences.

It should but in many cases it may not. Many have driven to the dealer (turned off the Edge) then went in and said I have a CEL. Dealer goes to check starts the Edge and no CEL. Record the issue with the device and App then you have proof. Another thing do not turn off the Edge leave it running if the CEL is still on!!

IMO the same tires on and AWD Edge and you buy two new ones is an acceptable way to do things. Just make sure they are the same model and brand. The AWD system is not as sensitive as the TIRE BARKERS are saying and they are in it for the cash. I have done this with 4WD and AWD with not one issue. Two new ones ont eh rear and older worn ones on front. Once you get more cash and the tires are at about 4/32nds (I know 2/32nds is the wear bar) I replace mine at 4/32nds This is really not a big deal.

Decided to demonstrate a hack on the puddle lights. pretty easy and works great. Plus you can upgrade to LED if you decide not to use the OEM lights. Here is how:

You need to purchase a bluetooth ObdII and the forscan app to record the issues as they occur. Then you have evidence.

Rear brakes not releasing completely

This is how I keep from having issues with brakes. Simple really. Just perform annual maintenance. -
Confused about unever rear brake pad wear
macbwt replied to wlepse's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Most likely a combination of issues. First I have the same issue of the inboard pads wearing more on my wifes OEM brakes on her 2011 ford edge. I however do not have the same issue with my 2011 Ford Edge. Here is why: I changed my pads to Full ceramic pads and High carbon steel rotors. I also thoroughly cleaned and removed all rust from the brackets by light sanding and brushing. I have also blasted the brackets. New guide clips and ceramic CRC brake grease liberally applied to all moving contact surfaces. No abnormal wear on the rear brakes after one year and 60K miles!!!! The rust causes the outside pad to stick and the inboard pad is forced to move and push against the outside pad. Thus the outboard pad has less contact and friction. This also results in degraded braking. You have to check and maintain the brakes every year. This is how I perform brake maintenance on the 2011 Ford Edge: -
These videos may help with the cleaning and maintenance.

I love being in the middle !!! LOL All I can add is the night driving for me is better. No one flashes me. Will the HID's burn out the reflectors? Time will tell, but for now I am happy with the results. By the way you both have your sides and ultimately this thread does provide information. Note: I would change to HID light fixtures but for the cost I really like my wifes HID lights, better then mine.

If it works and is just loud and you can live with the loud noise. Go with it. If you want to change it go with the Motorcraft. This all depends on if you can get your money back for the current fan.

Not sure of your Model year etc. The Series of battery? 54 or 65? You did apparently upgrade to a 65 it seems. The reduced voltage may be due to the new battery not requiring as much power to charge it. Thus the alternator is not producing the higher voltage. The engine draws on this also so in essence the system is not having to produce as much power. I would be more concerned with voltage dropping under load below say 13V with fans, ac, lights and other accessories on This would be an indication of a shunting or loss of voltage from the alternator. You can use a Solar BA7 battery and charging system device that will tell you the health of your charging system under load and is a very accurate low cost device for this purpose.

I made this video to try to explain how water pump failure can result in a timing and IVCT and VCT code. Also explain signs and symptoms of water pump failure and how it can completely destroy an engine.

I agree with Nick on the reflectors type housings. Not a good idea at all as there is no control on the light and others approaching you may not be able to see due to many issues. I know when I had cataracts even regular lights caused issue from approaching vehicles so the HID lights in some reflectors cause a great loss of night vision. Just my 2 cents. I however have installed HID lights into my 2011 Ford Edge Halogen projectors and have seen a benefit to the visible light while driving at night. No one has flashed me or indicated the light is too bright. The shutters are functioning and so far working well. Would I like to have HID projector lenses. YES. My wifes Edge has them and they are better then my HID mod on the other Edge. Her HID lights are sharper and better.

They were tightened some more and have about 1/4 inch clearance and to date have not touched the drive shaft. So a win! I have been working on the glove issue, I like to have some feel for things when I work, but yeah gloves are needed. Looking some thicker Nitrile gloves the thinner ones do not hold up. Maybe 7mm or 9mm not sure. I will test them out and let you know in future videos.

Just get a pin kit from Ford. It is not expensive. Or any parts store should carry a pin kit. You could take the broken fsstener to any hardward store and they could measure the threads and get you a bolt. Might be an opportunity to add the rear brake low frequency Dampers to the rear brakes if you have a 2007-2010 model.
