  1. Absolutely. While ethylene glycol never wears out, the other ingredients such as rust and corrosion inhibitors age and wear out. The most common inhibitors, silicates for aluminum protection, are used up faster than others. Green for example is recommended to be replaced at 24,000 mile/24 month intervals. Others are rated at 100k to 150k but that's the rating of the coolant and doesn't accout for acid, rust, corrosion and dirt buildup in the cooling system. Every system needs to be flushed at no more than 3-5 years. Three if you pull a trailer or overheat (fan failure, etc). In addition to keeping the coolant in good condition, I can't help wonder how long those reporting water pump failures allowed their engines to go between oil changes. (No one ever fesses up to lax maintenance. Instead it's always Ford builds junk, etc.) Timing chain stretch is a natural part of aging, but some will slack more than others. I wonder how much the slack on the timing chain has on bearing failure (which leads to seal failure).
  2. Super easy. This video will show you how.
  3. Try resetting the HVAC controller module. Press the climate control power button and the defrost button (on some systems iys the "auto" button) at the same time, hold a couple of seconds, then press the power button one more time. A code of 88 88 means it's working properly. .
  4. You REALLY need to change this filter as soon as you can. Although you knocked out as much dirt as you could, it's still full of pollen and bacteria. And with the increased airflow, your now inhaling this. Don't know what Edge you are driving, this is what I use and I get it in 2 days. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000LPTGAE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_uDYdBbZSJK0SV
  5. Wonder what the reference to "Front; w/ 18 In. front Vented and 17 In. solid Rear" is all about?
  6. The correct camera Model for your car is model number ET4Z-19G490-A. (There's an earlier model that's also listed for the 2013). About the only one you can be certain of is OEM (abet the price). https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts/ford-rear-camera-et4z19g490a/?c=Zz1lbGVjdHJpY2FsJnM9ZWxlY3RyaWNhbC1jb21wb25lbnRzJmk9TVMxMTE5NzUmcj0xJmE9Zm9yZCZvPWVkZ2UmeT0yMDEzJnQ9c2VsJmU9My01bC12Ni1nYXM%3D
  7. Try squirting a shot of WD-40 into the key slot. Definitely getting older, but some lubricant may free up the internal parts and allow it to function normally for another year or two.
  8. This video from Mactfordedge should help show how to R&R the fan asdy. He makes it look.easy by doing it in 9 minutes.
  9. Once every 5 years? You think it's safe to let it go that long? .
  10. Responded in your other post ("wiper blades") with a video on how to install Reflex blades.
  11. Probably a Chineese Edge. Because it's 7-passenger they probably mount the spare under.
  12. Nice looking car. But I would not put off changing the plugs, if they haven't already been changed. Going through the summer with plugs this old is really asking for trouble. If they haven't been changed, you are probably weakening the coils right now. Call you local dealer and give them you VIN. Ask them to check the history they have on the car and see if they have any records of what kind of maintenance has been done. If your lucky, the previous owner(s) took it the Ford for service.
  13. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001OJCIMO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Q3cdBbPDEE4C4 Secure with a wire tie.
  14. Ah rat-a-fratz. Never read the description. You're right about the Pirelli's. The SCORPION VERDE ALL SEASON has a "would buy again" rating of 5.6. That's low. The SCORPION ZERO ALL SEASON PLUS, arn't rated yet but one of two reviewers wrote he was on his wear bars at less than 20k miles. I did find two other ALL-SEASON tires in this size however. First is a Achilles Desert Hawk UHP All-Season Radial Tire - 265/40R21 105V. Never heard of this brand and no reviews to go on. $176.73 with free shipping. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075XSCL9R/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_dPTcBbYT4BBX5 The other one sounds like it has promise. Michelin Latitude Sport 3 All-Season Radial Tire -265/40R21 101Y. $320.70. Free shipping for Amazon Prime members. Too new, not rated yet. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B011OAWCU0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_jRTcBbH0STB6Z Iffen it were me, I'd go with the Michelin's.
  15. Didn't realize they did this. Why wouldn't they go across the board and all cars? Huge step up on Longevity.
  16. We're not going to see you on Live PD, are we? (groan)
  17. Their rated as poor. Why wouldn't you go for the highest rated tires on a CUV so expensive? The Michelin Pilot Sport 4S are numbet one rated and will set you back $1600+ but that's cost of running 21"tires. Tires are too important to run garbage. https://m.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Michelin&tireModel=Pilot+Sport+4S&partnum=64YR1PS4SXL&vehicleSearch=true&fromCompare1=yes&autoMake=Ford&autoYear=2017&autoModel=Edge+FWD&autoModClar=Sport&autoMake=Ford&autoYear=2017&autoModel=Edge+FWD&autoModClar=Sport
  18. If you havent already checked out this site, here's another option for a replacement engines. (Free shipping). https://m.powertraindirect.com/3-5-liter-ecoboost-engines-for-sale/
  19. Uhhhh, so you drive left-handed?
  20. The first thing to check is the codes (as Akirby stated). All of these faults are related to the PCM. If the service AdvanceTrac warning indicator light comes on, this could be an indication of several issues. A faulty wheel-speed sensor A faulty steering-angle sensor A faulty rotational-speed sensor An issue with the steering rack Something that is lodged in one of the wheels The AdvanceTrac system needs to be reprogrammed
  21. Honesty I don't know. Tires are rated Treadwear: 640, Traction: A, Temperature: A. If you look at the ratings on Tirerack.Com, you'll see all the categores are in the green. Very few tires are rated this high (and can maintain it over theit lifetime).
  22. Because of its age/milage, consider changing all fluids, starting with the coolant and transfer case lubricant. Also if they haven't already been changed, changr the plugs. Make this your 1st priority. Plugs should be changed around 90k and as they age, the gap widens, the plugs draw.more current, heating up the coils. When they get too hot, they fail (possibly taking the PCM with them $$$).
