  1. I remember reading years ago that all systems leak slightly over the winter because the seals are not being lubricated and shrink. They re-expand and seal after you start running the system. I had my radiator fan assy replaced year or two ago and they checked the a/c system for pressure loss. They found a very small amount lost and topped it off. Said it was normal loss.
  2. One thing that a couple of dealers found was the wiring harness which connected to the SD socket had loosened and unable to access the card. Try looking at the connector to see if it's tight.
  3. Believe yours is on tbe firewall. Should be easy to find. Heres a video that might help.
  4. We don't sell a product. We sell a service. If you think it's not common, your fooling yourself.
  5. Actually it's over 100%. If you came to me and asked for a quote, I would find out which of my competitors you're with, and beat that price. If your new, I would find our who else you talked to and set a profit potential.Warranties are based on history and sales margins.
  6. If it one of those all-in-one fobs, it has to be programmed by a dealer (or locksmith). I'd have him call tbe original lock smith and ask him.
  7. I remember reading in another forum where the dealer found a loose connector on the card socket. (Not a big deal to check yours).
  8. Cloning the SD card will not work. They are encrypted with a special key that the system can read, but prevents cloning them. (Otherwise theyd be selling for $10 on Ebay.)
  9. Ummmmm, yea, but it involves a sledge hammer and a lot of vasoline. Seriously no, I would run it to the dealer. May involve a reload of software. Do you have an older card you can try? (BTW, this IS an OEM card, and not an Ebay clone, right?) And can you confirm that you did a Master Reset?
  10. I would try roving the card and clean the contacts with an alcohol wipe. Before reinsertING tbe card, stick a vacuum cleaner hose up to the opening and suck out any dust, dirt, doggie hair, etc. that may have gotten in there. If this doesn't work, remove the card and try a master reset.
  11. What the market will bear. My company has several different hourly rates. We will match our competitors (if we have to), else the rate is the rate. Simple business.
  12. Well, there are others .... here's one with all the bells and whistles. https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_151293_Kenwood-eXcelon-DDX9905S.html
  13. Noticed last week when I arrived at a factory to conduct an inspection that the flexible rubber gasket that connects to a small, thin rail, on the underside of the sliding moon roof, was free and disconnected (only on the drivers side). It also had the appearance that it had been squashed in a twisted "S" curve, indicating that it had been disconnected for some time (getting squished crooked when the roof was closed. I easily reconnected the gasket to the rail and noticed that it became disconnected as the roof was nearly closed. I *think* that the unnatural curve in the gasket is putting too much stress on the "crimp" connection and it just pops off the rail. Currently I have it closed with the gasket connected, hoping that this will re-straighten the curve out of the rubber, but time will tell (may have been disconnected for years afaik.) Anyone have any other ideas as to what I can do to force the rubber gasket back into a straight alignment? Tried over bending the rubber by hand, thinking it would begin the retake the proper shape, but it continues to take the S shape. Thinking of using a hair dryer to heat the rubber, but the old doctors guide, "first do no harm".
  14. Really I think it was intended to send a record to the dealer of record to help generate additional sales.

  16. True enough. But I can't think of any reason to leave a car idling for a half-hour or more and be away from the car.
  17. I'd call the local rental company and get their opinion. They deal with this everyday.
  18. Ask the people you work with. Don't put too much in the ones the say good, but listen to them when they talk down a mechanic. Personally I would consider your local Ford dealer as they are the best experts on the Edge.
  19. They usually install a rebuilt (per my dealer). Probably didn't get a good one. I would keep taking it back as a PTU leak will eventually cause it's failure.
  20. Tires can also be significant source of noise. Don't think it's possible to add ANC to a car that didn't come with it. Basically it just nuteralizes the engine low frequencies (does nothing for wind or rain).
  21. The U-Haul site has instructions (and a good video) on how to determine the correct height. Normal height is 17" from the ground to the bottom of the coupler. U-Haul recommends 18". https://www.uhaul.com/Articles/Tips/5227/How-To-Select-The-Correct-Ball-Mount-For-Your-Hitch/
  22. Easier to just tap the brake pedal. (Or gas pedal).
  23. Barf. I'll see your Binarily Augmented Retro-Framing and rase you a fart.
