  1. I'm running the Bridgestone Ecopia 422, not the older 400's. The 422's have an improved tread pattern. I also am running 20" and have AWD, so snow isn't a problem. I would imagine 18" tires would be better in snow do to the added flex in the sidewall. And snow removal in the area is usually very good so there are only a very few days when we are ever really driving on snow. On those that are snow covered, the tires are good (NOT snow tires) and NOT poor. I like the tires, no real complaints. (Don't consider the older 400's which were not as good). One other thing to consider is, the better the tire is on snow, the noiser the tread is on dry payment. I like super quiet over those few days of heavy snow. (But with AWD, who cares?)
  2. I wonder if the check engine light "going on and off" is throwing a DTC P0460-P0463 error code. If it is, here's the way to test and an easy fix.
  3. After you reach a certain age, you come to realize it's actually intellectual defecation..
  4. I remember when we used to call these "brain farts".
  5. Couple of thoughts. One is you may have accidentally disabled the remote start in the info display. OM pg 108. 2nd is possibly the hood switch has failed. Test by open hood, hold down switch and try remote start. Do you get horn honks, lights? [edit] On my mkx, the hood switch is a small (1") rubber nub, front of engine compartment, passenger side. It sticks up and hood presses on it when closing. Easy to find.
  6. Hey ronaldmignone, welcome to the forum. What's under the mirror? Looks like a radar detector or camera bracket.
  7. I posted this in another message, but will mentioned it again here. I was at my local dealer a week or two ago and overheard the service rep telling another customer about carbon buildup on the valves. He told him that to clean the buildup off, they have a Ford procedure to steam clean the valves. I didn't get involved, wish I would have asked about the cost, etc. but figured I should stay out of it.
  8. There's chatter about GPS wandering & failing in the F150 forum. Known problem, dealer replaced the APIM module. Could also be related to the system not understanding your voice commands. Next time you see the map showing the GPS to be way off, look at the screen to see if you see the GPS icon. If not, the system has lost all GPS and showing false data. https://www.fordf150.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=123694
  9. Drop by your local dealer and ask them where the go to get used oem parts. Here in northern indiana, they usually use a yard near Indianapolis. The yard does so much business, they have trucks on the road every day, delivering parts all over the state.
  10. Just ran on on my MKX, so it's still working. Not that it's actually helpful.
  11. It seems to common across all Ford products (a lot of complaints in the F150 forum). Been tracked a loose torx screw seems to be the cause. https://www.f150forum.com/f118/driver-seat-seat-shifting-turns-345647/ Focus forum. http://www.focusst.org/forum/focus-st-discussions/45474-2015-st-loose-wobbly-seat.html#/topics/45474
  12. I've used this procedure from Chris Fix, and can report excellent results. (His video on exterior glass is the best procedure I've ever found and the glass stays clean for months).
  13. I just dicovered that the engine number is also on a production traveler that's stuffed behind the hood acoustic blanket (under the hood). On mine, it was shoved on the side on the drivers side.
  14. Like Makuloco said, the car has 185,000 miles on it and their changing the water pump as a "preventive" measure. That says a lot about the subject.
  15. No man should go through life without a Dremal. It's like, trying to fix something without duct tape or WD-40.
  16. I let it go. The blade was misboxed in the store (probably some kid messing around) and parts guy was acting in good faith.
  17. I could be way off, but my first guess is the accessory relay is failing. It's #10 in the fuse panel (in cabin).
  18. Change your cabin air filter. Here's a video which shows you how to do it.
  19. This page has a lot of info and may help. https://www.waze.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=253285
  20. Wouldn't adding a catch can void the factory warranty on the engine?
  21. Take it to the dealer for diagnostics. They have to be the party that finds it anyway. If you go online to ford website, they may have a coupon for a free brake check. Won't cost anything for the check and they fix if the concur.
