  1. This video will describe how to remove it.
  2. There is a 30 second warning prior to automatic shutdown. You can override the pending shutdown by tapping the brake or gas pedal. There's no override setting to disable.
  3. So what's causing the leak in the first place? The engine is dry and cured when it's built. Doesn't leak until later.
  4. Ford just announced they are restructuring. https://www.fidelity.com/news/article/top-news/201804251619RTRSNEWSCOMBINED_KBN1HW2UH-OUSBS_1
  5. IF your still under warranty take it in. Even s small leak in certain places needs immediate attention.

    The Kill Zone

I just love sitting next to a small 4-banger with an automatic and a bad fart cannon taking off from a green light, floored and the moron looking all over to see if anyone is noticing him.
  7. Ahhhhh, now I understand. We pay our workers more to get it just as wrong.
  8. Buy the extended warranty if the car is already out of its powertrain warranty. What I did was to go online and get three quotes from on-line Ford dealers. Took these to my local Ford dealer's comptroller and asked him to match. He did without question and bettered it by offering free deductible (if I service there, otherwise $100 at any other dealer). Think.of it as a safety net in a very complicated world.
  9. Can't imagine what your complaining about, 4° is well within Chinese tolerances.
  10. PTU is an acronym for Power Transfer Unit. It sits aft of, and attrached to the transmission. The purpose is to send power to the rear axle. (Power is split between the front and rear axles). The problem with the unit is, eventually the seals start to leak and the remaining fluid overheats, cooking and loses lubricating properties. The unit then fails. The best prevention is to change the fluid every 30k. Even though it's a required procedure after the car had been in deep water, many dealers will not do the flush. (My local does, was either $60 or $80, forget.) Some transmission shops will also do a flush. The unit is considered sealed for life, but life of any car is it's original warranty (not forever as some think). (On older cars, there's no drain plug and thd fluid has to be sucked out using the same equipment used to drain and refill the rear end). It's "infamous" because so many units have failed and are expensive to replace. Considering all the millions of AWD vehicles on the road, and the number that have actually failed, it's actually a fairly reliable unit. The dealer found mine started leaking during an oil change. They replaced the unit under extended warranty. (Good reason to purchase the Ford extended warranty).
  11. Most likely cause is the wiper has come loose on the pivot arm. Remove the attachment nut, reposition the arm so that the blade is parallel with the bottom defroster grid line, and tighten the nut to 12 in/lb.
  12. Neighbor was telling me today that local Ford garage recommends a steam cleaning procedure for direct injection engines. Think he said they quoted him around $250 for the process. Cleans gunk on backside of valves. Anyone else heard about this?
  13. I'm jealous. (Ok, maybe just a little).
  14. Check with your local Service MANAGER before going with the latest OAT coolant. Reason is, Ford specifically engineered the newer motors to have special blade geometry and a slower spin so that less cavitation is caused in the coolant circuit. (Cavitation is what causes a lot of pitting in the cooling systems). He can advise what's best for your specific engine & year. If you decide to change coolant type, follow the Ford recommandations and do a proper and thorough flush. Mixing green and orange can cause a silica compound (basically sand and other nasty stuff) to fall out of solution. This is what will kill your engine and clog your coolant passage ways. Believe there's a procedure out on this (is for my 09). Anyways, Service Manager can advise proper process. Quite involved.
  15. Can't you turn your DRL's on and off from the info panel? Settings->> Vehicle->> lighting->> DRL (on/off)

  17. Chuckle. Seems only a couple of years ago, the topic was how to add these lights. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/19338-2015-ford-edge-se-front-bumper-oemaftermarket-light-install/
  18. Looks like we have a winner. Wife said yes, exactly what she's looking for. :high-five:
  19. No room in the freezer for a canister. Have plenty of ice.
  20. I'm also running Dueler's and we'll satisfied with them. Only get slightly noisier as they age, not bad at all. Great price..
