Most likely cause is the wiper has come loose on the pivot arm. Remove the attachment nut, reposition the arm so that the blade is parallel with the bottom defroster grid line, and tighten the nut to 12 in/lb.

Neighbor was telling me today that local Ford garage recommends a steam cleaning procedure for direct injection engines. Think he said they quoted him around $250 for the process. Cleans gunk on backside of valves. Anyone else heard about this?

Check with your local Service MANAGER before going with the latest OAT coolant. Reason is, Ford specifically engineered the newer motors to have special blade geometry and a slower spin so that less cavitation is caused in the coolant circuit. (Cavitation is what causes a lot of pitting in the cooling systems). He can advise what's best for your specific engine & year. If you decide to change coolant type, follow the Ford recommandations and do a proper and thorough flush. Mixing green and orange can cause a silica compound (basically sand and other nasty stuff) to fall out of solution. This is what will kill your engine and clog your coolant passage ways. Believe there's a procedure out on this (is for my 09). Anyways, Service Manager can advise proper process. Quite involved.

Can't you turn your DRL's on and off from the info panel? Settings->> Vehicle->> lighting->> DRL (on/off)

Come spring, when it comes (snowing in Northern Indiana again today), it's off to Wally World or Tarjai. It will probably get used twice. I'm sorry but $750 for an ice cream machine is a bit pricy for me. For that amount of money, it's got to be an espresso machine, something better than my La Pavoni.

Dealer don't feel it's a problem, so it must be monor. Next oil change ask the service rep "why" it's not a problem. Might also consider wiping it clean and see how much grease is actually leaking out. (Small amount could be normal over several 10,000's miles).

Here in the states the recommended fluid change interval is 60,000 miles if towing trailer, running on dusty roads, excessive idling such as taxi, police, etc. or off-road driving. Under normal schedules, the PTU fluid must be changed anytime the unit has been submerged. Also goes on to state that the use of fluids not meeting Ford spec are to be changed at 3,000 miles.

Alao, make certain you have the latest OS installed. When I got my S5 years ago, the messaging function didn't work until I updated my operating system.
