  1. The procedure is detailed in your Navigation Manual: 1. Press the PHONE hard button on the navigation system. 2. Select the ‘Settings’ tab on the touchscreen. 3. Press ‘Advanced’. 4. Select ‘Vehicle Health Report’. 5. Select ‘Automatic Reports’. 6. Enter the desired setting. Once you have turned on the automatic report feature, you can then choose at which mileage intervals you would like to be prompted to run a health report. 1. Press the PHONE hard button on the navigation system. 2. Select the ‘Settings’ tab on the touchscreen. 3. Press ‘Advanced’. 4. Select ‘Vehicle Health Report’. 5. Select ‘Mileage Interval’. 6. Select the desired mileage interval setting. When the chosen mileage is reached, SYNC will automatically prompt you and ask if you would like to run a health report. You can then accept and SYNC will send you an e-mail with the information or you can choose to have SYNC remind you later.
  2. This happened to me last winter after I got a car wash. Lasted until I was able to get the car home and sit in the garage. After an hour it opened fine. Whatever caused it seems minor.
  3. Just though I'd mention that service manual states to use rubbing alcohol to clean the groves (I use a Q-tip dipped in alcohol) and then lube the rails with silicone spray. (Never use grease or the like,) Small amounts of PTFE Lubricant or Silicone Spray Lubricant is permissible to use as a means to reduce friction and improve moving glass panel operation.
  4. yup. Service manual states use rubbing alcohol to clean rails and silicone spray to lubricate.
  5. Why not run a self-diagnostic test on the unit and see if you are throwing any DTC errors? On my 09 MKX it's entered by holding preset buttons 3 and 6 for 3 seconds until the speaker walk-around test begins. Before the speaker walk test is complete, press the "End Test" selection on teh touch screen. The screen will change to Bezel Diagnostics and you can choose which tests to run. (Assumes you have navigation). IF you don't have navigation, buttons 3 & 6 to enter mode, press button #1 after the speaker test begins and it will start the ACM test. If errors show up after the test, you can review them by pressing button #2. Button 3 is the AM/FM Antenna Signal Strength, button 4 displays software levels for various components of the audio system. Knowing the software levels probably will not aid in diagnostics. Press the TUNE UP button to scroll through the software levels. Button 5 is the Display Test, button 6 retrieves the ACM Part Number. Button 7 ejects the warp core and button 8 drops your oil pan on the garage floor. (last two are undocumented).
  6. Is this what you're looking for? http://www.amazon.com/Micro-USB-Component-Andriod-Converter-MHL-enabled/dp/B00LPHJEEA/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1432827714&sr=8-3&keywords=andriod+video+cable+to+usb
  7. Ever consider using aftermarket? Much (MUCH) cheaper and can be moved to a different car when you sell. Check out this one for example http://www.amazon.com/XTRONS%C2%AE-Screen-Headrest-Player-Monitor/dp/B00J5CEJTM/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1432826371&sr=8-12&keywords=headrest+dvd Amazon has dozens to choose from, most come with three different color covers and the posts are adjustable in width and have bushings to adapt to different size holes. (Each plays independently, no connection to head unit, but they can be connected to both play same movie or game if wanted). Believe wireless headphones, controllers are available as well.
  8. Perhaps something like this harness would work. http://www.amazon.com/PerformancePackage-Mirror-Power-Detectors-Inline/dp/B00RA38Y8U/ref=sr_1_fkmr2_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1432659210&sr=8-1-fkmr2&keywords=radar+detector+mirror+power+supply
  9. Here's what I bought. It's terminated especially for an Escort, but something simular will work if you have the correct power jack. I secured the connector with two miniature pull ties as the wires just push into the socket next to the existing wiring. You could take an existing power cord, strip and tin the wires (to make them stiff enough to push into the mirror socket.) I did this because I got tired of turning off the Escort whenever I shut off my car. Afraid I would forget and drain the battery (even though the Passport Max will turn itself off after 1/2 hour of inactivity, that's a half hour I didn't need to drain the battery during winter months). http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006074LT8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  10. Here's what I bought. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006074LT8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It's terminated especially for an Escort, but something simular will work if you have the correct power jack. I secured the connector with two miniature pull ties for strain relief, as the wires just push into the socket next to the existing wiring. Perhaps you could take an existing power cord, strip and tin the wires (to make them stiff enough to push into the mirror socket.) I went this way because I got tired of turning off the Escort whenever I shut off my car. 11. Great price on the nav unit. Congrats. What did you mean when you stated that you "replaced the computer with two clip connectors "?
  12. I'm having the hardest time seeing my instrument readout in my 09 MKX during daylight hours. Been that way since I bought it. Is this item supposed to be backlit when the headlights are off (I have my DRL's turned on, but that doesn't make any difference.)
  13. I wired my Escort Passport Max 2 radar detector, l wired it into the back of my mirror using a premade harness. It only switches on when the ignition is in the run position. Positive is pin no. 1, negative is pin 10. Purchased from Amazon. No reason you couldn't rig up a harness and wire it to the mirror.
  14. I clicked on the link above and Husky makes custom mud flaps for my 2009 MKX. Both front and rear. Should also fit your Edge I would imagine.
  15. LOL. Of course that's just imho.

  17. Activating autolock on 2007 Edge: Before starting, ensure the ignition is in the LOCK position and all vehicle doors are closed. You must complete Steps 1–5 within 30 seconds or the procedure will have to be repeated. If the procedure needs to be repeated, wait a minimum of 30 seconds before beginning again. 1. Place the key in the ignition and turn the ignition to the RUN position. 2. Press the power door unlock control on the door panel three times. 3. Turn the ignition from the RUN position to the LOCK position. 4. Press the power door unlock control on the door panel three times. 5. Turn the ignition back to the RUN position. The horn will chirp one time to confirm programming mode has been entered and is active. 6. To enable/disable the autolock feature, press the unlock control, then press the lock control. The horn will chirp once if autolock was deactivated or twice (one short and one long chirp) if autolock was activated. 7. Turn the ignition to the LOCK position. The horn will chirp once to confirm the procedure is complete.
  18. In Indiana, legal limit on front drivers and passengers windows is 30%. Very vague as to what's allowed on back and rear. On windshield nothing below the AS-1 Line (about top 5 inches). (Don't get pulled over for speeding or anything, state police & most sheriffs will check). Film on drivers and passengers (front and back) windows cannot be more than 25% reflective. No requirements on rear. No restriction on color or on mirrors. Films are required to be certified by manufacturer for use in Indiana. If you did yourself, keep the manufactures certification to take to court. As you exceed the legal limit of 30% and cover the windshield, (a big no-no), if you get pulled over for an infraction and they notice your tint (they will), your only out would be a medical exemption as prescribed by doctor to avoid strong sunlight. (Medical exemption's are allowed in Indiana). Lacking that the fine will be painful.
  19. In Ohio, whatever tint you install mst be certified by the manufacturer for use in Ohio,
  20. In Ohio, 50% is the legal limit. Don't get pulled over. 20% OK for rear and 2nd seat windows.
  21. Better check into this a little closer. Ohio only allows the top 5 inches to be tinted on the windshield (SUV or van). Front side windows must allow 50% light to pass through. 2nd seat and rear window can be any amount of shading. An additional restriction is the tint must not be more reflective than a standard window (probably means don't use silver or chrome tint). Also, in Ohio, any film you use must be certified by the manufacturer for use in Ohio.
  22. Anything mechanism can breakdown. Now that you had the problems fixed, may end up with a good car. (Or someone else will ). Personally I really wouln't consider a foreign brand again. Nice cars, but Ford/Lincoln are MUCH more comfortable to drive.
  23. According to the service manual, it sounds line it could be one of two things (possibly related). For a roof that operates slowly, it could either be (1) binding or foreign material in the guide or idler tracks, or (2) binding or foreign material in the roof opening panel guide tracks. For a roof opening panel that reverses during operation, it is either (1) the mechanism is mistimed, or (2) binding or a foreign material in the guide or tracks. One of these is probably causing both symptoms, probably a little of both. To clean the idler tracks and mechanisms, * Remove the idler track mechanisms. (Refer to Roof Opening Panel Idler Track Mechanism in this section.) * Using denatured alcohol or a non-abrasive mild detergent with warm water and a soft brush, clean the idler mechanism guide feet and pins. Refer to Roof Opening Panel — Exploded View in this section. * Using denatured alcohol or a non-abrasive mild detergent with warm water and a soft cloth, clean the idler tracks of all debris along the length of the track. * Install the idler track mechanisms and the roof opening sliding glass panel. * Start the engine. * Open the roof opening sliding glass panel. * Monitor the amount of time it takes to close the roof opening glass panel to the fully closed position. * Does the roof opening glass panel move to the fully closed position in less than 12 seconds? (yes/no) If you do this, the service manual has the following to say about what types of lubricant to use: "Small amounts of PTFE Lubricant or Silicone Spray Lubricant is permissible to use as a means to reduce friction and improve moving glass panel operation." The procedure to remove the idler tracks for cleaning is as follows: 1. Remove the roof opening panel sliding glass. For additional information, refer to Roof Opening Panel Glass — Front Sliding in this section. (I added below) 2. Carefully slide the idler link forward and out of the front of the track. Roof Opening Panel Glass — Front Sliding Removal and Installation 1 Open the roof opening panel to the VENT position. 2 Detach the top of the concertina blind from the moving glass frame. 3 Reposition the sliding glass panel to any position rearward of VENT position. 4 Remove the 4 roof opening panel glass front screws. To install, tighten to 71 lb-in. 5 Remove the 2 roof opening panel glass rear screws. To install, tighten to 71 lb-in. NOTICE: It is possible for the idler mechanism to move freely once the glass panel is removed. Do not move the idler rearward or it may disengage from the idler track. 6 Carefully remove the roof opening panel glass. 7 To install, reverse the removal procedure. 8 Initialize the roof opening panel motor(s). For additional information, refer to Roof Opening Panel Motor Initialization in this section. Timing Adjustment NOTE: Anytime a roof opening panel glass/shade motor is removed, the cables/mechanisms can experience free-play movement. It is important that the cables do not move. The mechanisms are timed to be parallel with each other. If one or both are moved in either direction, they must be re-timed. Roof Opening Panel — Sliding Glass Panel 1. Remove the roof opening panel sliding glass. For additional information, refer to Roof Opening Panel Glass — Front Sliding in this section. 2. Remove the roof opening panel sliding glass motor. For additional information, refer to Roof Opening Panel Motor — Sliding Front Panel in this section. 3. Manually move the sliding front glass mechanisms rearward until they are flush against the track hard-stops. 4. Reinstall the roof opening panel sliding glass motor. For additional information, refer to Roof Opening Panel Motor — Sliding Front Panel in this section. 5. With the roof opening panel sliding glass still removed, initialize the roof opening panel motor(s). For additional information, refer to Roof Opening Panel Motor Initialization in this section. NOTE: Press the roof opening panel control switch to move the mechanisms rearward to allow installation of the sliding glass panel. NOTE: It will be necessary to carry out the initialization procedure again after the glass panel is installed. 6. Install the roof opening panel sliding glass. For additional information, refer to Roof Opening Panel Glass — Front Sliding in this section.
  24. What kind of problems are you having with your roof panel? Does it fail to open entirely, or does it open or close slowly (takes more than 12 seconds), or does it reverse when opening? Does it stutter step open when operated from the roof opening panel control switch? Does the tilt mechanism operate correctly?
  25. I was under the impression that we could just plug a camera into the back of the HU (ie didn'the need a special adapter). Video feed connected to pins 1 & 10 of the center connector, if I read it right.
