Welcome! I was at the lical Ford/Lincoln dealer last week looking at a black 20 (what the had on the showroom floor). Loved to have seen the red. What options / packages did you get?

7I'm following up on this. Called Lincoln and got the local service manager involved. They also brought in the Ford Area Aervice rep. They sent me a copy of the most current PTI for the 2009 MKX dated 08/23/2030 showing that new yellow is spec'd as a replacement for original gold and green. (This was specific to the 2009 Lincoln MKX). Area service rep (out of Michigan) wasn't certain if the other bulletin (the one 1004ron attached) and will check with Ford Engineering tomorrow. Local dealer did use a full flush and cleaner (acid base) and distilled water so I doubt that there would be any negative reaction, but we'll see what Ford Engineering says. Thanks for adding the bulletin, you stired up a real fuss going all the way to Ford Enginereing.

I'm certain they drained, flushed and refilled with the new yellow coolant. As I had the "other" yellow in my mkx, makes me wonder if they made a mistake? Believe I'll drop by and show them this pdf. Edit, I looked up the original coolant and it was gold. Wonder if it wouldn't be a good idea to put a label on the coolant bottle indicating that the coolant has been changed to tbe new yellow?

"Do not use saddle soap or baby wipes as they contain materials that dry out leather seats. Try to avoid materials that contain acids and salts too, as they will destroy the leather seats and make them rough. Use leather cleaners and conditioners that are specifically formulated for use with leather seats." https://www.autos.com/car-maintenance/how-to-clean-leather-car-seats-without-ruining-them Baby wipes contain: water, aloe vera juice, caprylyl glycol, malic acid, sodium benzoate, sodium citrate, coco-betaine & polysorbate 20 (dissolve oils and fats into water).

HVAC Codes B1081 and B1086
enigma-2 replied to 66lincoln's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Try a HVAC reset first. Press the climate control button, the defrost button and the power button at the same time. then press the climate control button again and it should be reset. -
Yea, I know. But asked several questions (talked to two different service agent, mgr) and got basically same answer. New coolant is universal, not same ad old stuff and is the only coolant Ford recommends. Only coolant they stock. Next time you're into your local dealer, ask them about this. (This dealer has been fairly good in the past). Anyway, they did switch me over the new stuff. Cost enough. Said they did a full flush. Seems I read somewhere (may have been in another forum) where someone else was switched over to the new stuff, and was questioning it.

FordeEdge 2011 AC blower turns on and Off
enigma-2 replied to TARiQ's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
⁸It really sounds like the HVAC control module is suspect. (A failing module may be spitting bad info onto the HS-CAN causing all the error codes. Theory but only thing I could think of).I don't have 2011 schematics but looked at the 2010. -
2019 Edge "rocking" while AC on
enigma-2 replied to IcyFridge's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Only thing i can think of is, the fan is cycling on and off, causing the alternator to load the unload, which causes the enging to speed up or down, which puts more power into the drive train. Thus, the car tries to speed up, but the breaks (evil grin) are holding the car. Think of it like your stepping on tbe brakes and step on ghe accelerator. The front end will raise up. Let off and it drops again. Do this over and over and the car will seem to rock. -
Ok, was back in yesterday and brought it up with the service assistant. Apparently its now called "gold". Not yellow, not light green, ... "gold". Only coolant Ford is going to recommend for ALL cars. Supposedly compatible with ALL existing Ford coolants. Mentioned that Ford used to have a gold years ago and he acknowledged and said "this is the new gold". (Whatever).

2008 Edge Intermittent AC Problem
enigma-2 replied to vette86's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
I just ran across your post and was surprised that no one responded. Those aftermarket fan assemblies are junk. Did you change over to a Motorcraft unit? As for the cycling, I would guess that the A/C compressor thermal protection switch was interrupting compressor operation when the fan unit failed and the compressor housing exceeds temperature limits. (It was doing its job). -
My 09 MKX is in the shop today for several items, one being a flush and change of coolant. My 2009 came with orange and they are switching me over to the new light green coolant. In-fact, they said that they are switching all Ford/Lincolns over to the new coolant when a flush is due. They told me they don't even have any of the old stuff on hand any more. Asked what happens if someone needs topping off before the change and they said the new light green (it actually looks kinda yellow) is compatible ALL old coolants. They just use that.

Chuckle, that's what I was getting at. 3g and 4G on the same towers. That's the expensive part. Besides, they don't really own the towers nor the fiber optic cables anyway. So cutting out the 3G drops rental fees. But, why in the hell did Ford spec 3G for this? It was already slated for termination when it was issued. Probably had a two to three year lead time, but it would have been simple to spec 4G into the equation in the design phase. After all, 4G was introduced in 2010, and when did the first smart access car appear? Years after that. Speaking of flip phones ... I actually have a friend, who's cheaper then me, (ahem) and still uses a 1978 Simplicity lawn tractor (two of them actually, one for parts) who still uses a Motorola flip phone. Says he likes the simplicity (sic) of just making phone calls. Anyway, I think their missing a cash cow by not offering an upgrade. Dealer could change it out in 1 hour (probably less). Out of curiosity I checked with Verizon and they are still offering 3G. Was slated to turn off last December, thought it had, but they extended to this December. (Probably to match the other carriers).

I reread the ford lit and I believe you're correct. It is a 3G modem, that works in 4G areas. (I read another page where it mislead to believe that it was compatible with both networks). Ridiculous that they went with old technology (3G was supposed to be disconcontinued at the end of last year and it was known for shut down four years ago).

Can't advise as to your 2019, but on my 2009 MKX, the ambient lighting circuit is wired into an existing connector installed in the consul. This circuit runs on the accessory delay. (I'm uncertain as to what else is plugged into this connector). From the looks of the service manual, I'm guessing that the connector is factory to allow the dealer to simply plug is module and switch. If there is not factory connector on your 19, I believe you could tap into the drink holder lighting circuit to gain power. (The ambient lighting module is on whenever the car is running and not tied directly into the lighting circuit).
