How to Remove Fuel Door Pocket on '13 Edge?
enigma-2 replied to Marcus Mechanic's topic in Exterior & Body
This may not be helpful, I have an 09 MKX, just looked at it and you have to take the inside rear panel off. Then remove the screws from the exterior so that the fuel 'pocket ' assy can be removed. (Removes from inside the car). Your 13 may be different however. -
You check to see if oil low or has dirty oil? Possibly a failed oil pump can cause this (cam timing controlled by oil pressure). Couple of ideas concerning this. https://youtu.be/tplKez5IdO0 https://youtu.be/yUfmRarlUl4

Using nonethenol gas
enigma-2 replied to 2017 SLE FORD EDGE's topic in Ford Edge & MKX Member Builds
Just happen to run across this conversation. FTI Heres a link to the US and Canada for non-Ethanol gas stations. (Problem is, it's usually not available in 87 octane). https://www.pure-gas.org/ -
Ever figure this out?

2nd Gen brake controller install
enigma-2 replied to Sledwrecker's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Think I misunderstood. Your looking to add a 7 plug connector. According to ertrailer.com the only thing they offer for the 2018 is a cordless model. https://www.etrailer.com/question-320753.html I'd write and ask them. They seem to be the experts on the subject. https://www.etrailer.com/product_askexpert.aspx?Product_Code=C57674&QSource=question-320753 -

Everyone I've seen is plug and play. No taping required. https://youtu.be/ZnQk9NrD2oM -
What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?

My experience with Michelin's is love hate. They are the perfect tire for 20k or so because the use a solf rubber thread. Gives s great ride but wears quickly. After the solf rubber wears away, it go into a hard, hard rubber to give the tire its longevity. At this point the tires get hard, rough and noisy. (One was really noisy). I took the car back to the authorized dealer and he told me what was going on. Michelin hooks you with the great ride (for ~20k) and then delivers on their rated life by going to hard rubber. Safe, but a crappy, noisy ride. For by MKX, I've found that Bridgestones deliver a consistent, quiet and smooth (not as good as Michelin's in the first 20k) but very good for their rated life. On my 2nd set. As for the Perrelli Scorpions, wife has a set on her Sebring convertible. Loves them. Great tire. But! The Sebring weighs less than half the AWD MKX and it's a car. Drives entirely different. For CUV's and SUV's, gotta go with a tire designed specifically for this type of ride. Stiffer sidewall, etc. Tread pattern is important and all four have to match as well. -
Looked back through the forum and the question was asked before, here: https://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/14410-dual-batteries/ Here's a YouTube video on adding a 2nd battery in an Explorer (although I don't see the same amount of room in the Edge). https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink/topic?url=https://www.expeditionforum.com/threads/has-anyone-ever-done-a-dual-battery-set-up.17639/&share_tid=17639&share_fid=20862&share_type=t&link_source=app One other concern is whether a Lithium-ion battery can stand the heat being in an engine compartment. (?) Only way I can see is if you were able to find a battery with a shape that's tall and narrow. Not a box. Good luck with that.

I hadn't been following Ford, under $7 is an eyeopener (I'm holding Amazon and Square). But, there's a lot of reasons for the price. (I wouldnt buy it even at $4!) If it scares you now, wait until after the election, lol. (Market is way over bought).

First, if your wipers automatically turn on when raindrops come in contact with the windshield then you have a sensor. Spray some water on the windshield. You can also check by looking from the outside – behind the rear view mirror. If you see a strip of lens or film that faces the outside that is adjoining your IR light sensor. It shoots out an IR beam, hits water droplets and the light refracts in different directions.

Ahh, now I see. (Was seeing a pop-up or the like). Well, I dont see really see anyplace in the cabin where you could install a battery (personally I would be concerned over hydrogen gas accumulating). And the engine compartment is a no-go. I'd still recommend the portable power source. Can charge through the rear power point while travelling and be kept next to the refer. Pulled out after the trip along with the refer for space. The first one has 240 watt/hour rating and accepts their solar panels to continue charging. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D29QNMJ/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_Y10eFbKF63MVC

(From the 2009 service manual) Circuitry LH or RH front window control switch LH or RH rear window control switch RH front, LH or RH rear power window mo As the window cannot be opened by either switch, I'd suspect the motor or (more likely) a corroded motor or switch connector. There is no procedure to raise the window manually (force by hand).

Probably requires a different clockspring a d additional wiring. I'd imagine a different module is needed. (Little things like this get complicated quickly).

Dont know if it matters, but fog lights are not supposed to be super bright. Their purpose is to provide illumination only at the edge of the road. In inclement weather, your vision is extremely limited. Under such conditions, its assumed that your travelling at a very low speed, 10-15 mph, and fog lamps are designed to light the edge of the road; not the driving lane. If you can find the side of the road, you know your not driving left of center. I think what your looking for are additional headlights. These would be illegal in all states.

As your camper has a electric refrigerator, why not add the camping battery on the camper hitch?
