Not really, but looks like it won't be available until September (due to COVID-19). When will the 2021 Ford Edge be available in the market? As the COVID-19 pandemic has hit the auto industry badly, Ford's plan to release the 2021 Edge in the fall of 2020 seems unlikely. Hence, expect the updated 2021 Ford Edge to be released around September. https://www.carindigo.com/news/2021-ford-edge-review-trims-prices-towing-capacity-features-and-rivals-comparison

Check the gaskets, especially on the bottom of the door.

When your moving, there's sufficient air being forced through the condensor (heat exchanger in front of the radiator). But when your idling, theres no air flow being forced through the condensor and the air must be forced through by the fan. If the airflow is insufficient (IE fans not running) no air is being forced through the condensor & radiator and the refrigiate cannot release the heat it picked up in the cabin. It then overheats. Fans not working is the most common problem causing this problem (no cooling at idle, ok when moving). Have you checked the condensor to make certain that the air flow is not being blocked? My money would be on a defective fan assembly. Fairly common problem. Had the same condition a couple of years ago. Possibly as omar302 said, they're spinning, but not effective. Slapping on a set of gauges or reading the codes should show if its the fans.

What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?

I stand corrected. Ohio front side windows tint must allow more that 50% of the light in. That's really different than what most states allow. Only concern I can see is if you traveled out of state. A trip to Indiana may earn you a $120-$150 ticket. (Indiana is 30% max on front, side windows). Probably never get pulled over, they would only check if speeding, etc. Michigan is 35% but only on the top 4 inches (of the front, side windows), but only $100 fine. Michigan will pull you over as it's obvious. -
Try pressing the climate control button, the defrost button and the power button at the same time. then press the climate control button again and it should reset.

As it changes with engine speed, it's probably an accessory bolted onto the engine. As your not getting a battery light, probably rule out the alternator. Power steering is a common cause, especially when it runs low in fluid. One way to test is to turn the wheels left and right. If the whine gets louder, its probably the power steering pump. (Only the power steering pump will change sound when turning). Another possible cause is the serpentine belt. Usually presents as a high pitched whine. Usually louder just after the engine is started.

Had the same problem couple of years ago. In mine, only one fan was working. Ford changed the fan assembly and worked fine since. Normally its the fan assembly that failed (very common) but you stated both fans are running. As the a/c works ok when under way, this limits the problem to the fans not working. (Is it possible that the fans were working when you checked but fail while you are driving? Fan controllers can be finicky).

Couple of suggestions. Others reported wind noise traced it to the panels under the car (drivers snd passengers sides). These panels are held on with push pins that sometimes come loose or fall out. This allows the panels to extend into the air flow causing wind noise. Quick check under the car will verify. Another place to check is the trim piece on the drivers mirror. If the piece is out of place, it creates a gap and wind noise.

2012 Edge - Underdash Fuse Panel Tapping
enigma-2 replied to kkernspa's topic in Accessories & Modifications
For my radar detector I used a mirror tap harness. Simply plugs into the back of your mirror and powers on with the ignition. Literally takes minutes to install. Google Mirrortap. Can't recommend the Chineese brands. Cheaply made and wired wrong. -
What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?

When I read this I was a little surprised as most involved in the industry will refuse, or at least inform you that a 35% tint on the windshield and front windows is illegal. (In all states). I know what you mean about these geniuses who convert their headlights and throw all kinds of glare. I've had to slap on my sunglasses (at night) a couple of times. -
One other thing I'd check is the conditions on the battery cables (esp the ground chassis connection) and harness connectors from thd alternator. Look for looseness or corrosion.

Hard/cut key test - alarm went off!
enigma-2 replied to Edgingage's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
Page 142 in the owners manual : • Unlock the doors using a key. If you use this method the system will not disarm, but you will have an opportunity to disarm the vehicle once entered. See the Note following. Note: If the driver’s door is unlocked with a key, a chime will sound when you open the door and the message center will display TO STOP ALARM START VEHICLE. When this occurs, you will have 12 seconds to disarm the alarm using any of the actions above, otherwise the alarm will trigger. IE, get in and start the car. -
Motorcraft parts on Ebay are Chineese fakes. (Why do you think they are do cheap)? Buy at your own risk.

2010 Edge coolant came out of air intake box.
enigma-2 replied to FrodEdge's topic in 2010 Edge & MKX
One possibility is the water pump has failed. There is a weap hole on the top, right (viewed from the drivers seat) of the engine. Should the inner water pump gasket fail (there's an inner and outer), the coolant is forced out through the weap hole so that it can be detected. 1. Check your oil. If it looks brownish and milkly, coolant is leaking into the oil sump and this will damage tbe bearings and journals. (Watered down, can't lubricate properly). Best to have the car towed to the dealer rather than subject the engine to more damage. 2. If the oil is ok, and you can see coolant leaking from the weap hole, the first set of gaskets have failed. Top off and drive to dealer (no high speed maneauvers). In either case the fix is to replace the water pump. (Quickly). Plan of costs running somewhere in the vicinity of $1600. Here's a video by MACTFORDEDGE describing where the weap hole is located. -
There's also a possibility that the problem concerns the wiring running to the coil. Connection may be corroded or burned.
