  1. Possible obstruction. Check to see if either of the two "hooks" have been pushed backwards towards the tailgate. If you have a cargo area mat, check to see if the mat is out of place. Another possibility is a pinch strip is failing. Or the liftgate is no longer square with the opening. Or the latch needs alignment.
  2. On man, its a bitch on the 2001 Ford Edge. (Edge started in 2007). lol Anyway you have to remove the front bumper. Takes about an hour and a half. Here's a video on how to do it: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12810-how-to-remove-front-bumper;-2011-2013-models/
  3. I believe that the SDARS module needs to be programmed during installation by the dealer. Ford dealers offer a module exchange for audio items. I would call the parts deparment at your local dealer and ask about it. There is one (possible) "test" you could try first. Gain access to the module and give it a sharp rap. (Usual failure is a failed solder joint and sometimes a rap on the outside of the case will fix it. (Can't hurt a failed unit).
  4. Same as the transmission fluid. it uses Motorcraft MERCON LV AFT. Page 350 in the owners manual.
  5. I was able to change mine ok, suggest you may have mistyped one of the passwords (they didn't match) or, the site verifier felt your password was not valid. Try again as it appears to be working ok.
  6. Ah hell, just carry it in the front of your jockey shorts and smile a lot.

    Would you?

https://www.fleet.ford.com/orders/place-order/vehicle-special-order/vso-special-paints/ But the real question is, can you afford it?

    Would you?

Years ago I ran across a guy who worked at Buick in their corporate office. We talked about several things, very interesting person. It turned to the colors they offered on their cars and he told me they chose their colors up to five years in advance. It was based on how the economy was doing (or rather was expected to be doing). Certain colors only sold when the economy was doing good (mostly bright colors), others when the economy was tanking (darker, greens, blues, browns). There is a real science in back of color choice. A lot of money can be lost by offering a bad color choice. BTW, future color-casting was related to woman's skirt heights. The higher the skirt height, the better the economy. Skirts at mid-thigh meant a very conservative economy. Mini skirts, very liberal. I imagine this has changed in today's world, but color still has a sexual component. (As does the sound the door makes when its closed and the seat configuration).
  9. I probably don't need to add that nearly anything on eBay is fake.
  10. Does this only happen when the spray is directed under the back of ghe car? May be sencing the spray, thinking it to be a "foot" waving back and forth.
  11. As the other remote works perfectly, its isolated to this remote (nothing wrong with the car). The remote is sending its proximity signal, so the transmitter is working. That leaves a problem with only the the keys. What I would do is take the fob apart and check for broken contacts or misaligned buttons.

    Curious

If it was my car, I'd run it by the dealer and have a mechanic have a look. May be nothing but whatever it is, it doesn't appear to be a common complaint and therefore a possible problem. Could be nothing more than a simple fix . If it is the problem that fell under the recall, wouldn't cost anything to repair.
  13. II just used Turtle Wax T-10 Black Tire Coat on my tires for the first time. Amazing. Makes your tires look wet and slippery. States it actually bonds better with age. There's a restriction of waiting 3 days before washing, but that's not a big deal.

    Curious

That's actually been discussed here before. Please read this post and if it sounds familiar:
  15. Did you hear back yet? As far as I know, its covered on the three plans (not power train only). Should be detailed on the pamphlet they gave you when you signed up.
  16. Sync used to have the limitation of FAT-32 (only, and it was fussy about the format, had to be a clean format, not a quick wipe) and a 4 gig drive limitation. (But others have used 32 gig without problems). BTW, some have reported problems with USB drives formatted with a MAC computer. If you used a MAC try formatting with a Windows computer.
  17. Page 227 of the owners manual. Yellow means the system is making or has just made a lane keeping intervention. Green is good, red means something's wrong.
  18. Sorry, didn't see this until just now. No, the batteries are not replaceable. Just one of those things with a 12 year old car. (I'll be doing mine in a year or two myself).
  19. The lift gate reset procedure is for a powered lift gate. (Theres no mention of a non-powered liftgate in the 2010 service manual)? Anyway, this sounds more of a mechanical issue. I would try adjusting the stiker plate. From the service manual, loosen stiker bplts, reposition door latch striker plate from side-to-side or up and down as necessary. Tighten bolts to 18 ft-lb.
  20. This has been seen before. As the paint is covered with clear coat, it would take a lot of chemicals to eat through and damage the paint. The real cause is a bad paint job, probably has a contaminate on the steel before painting. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/dozens-of-ford-vehicle-owners-fed-up-with-flaking-paint-problems-1.3261390
