Looking Beyond Edge being discontinued
handfiler replied to DGW's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
While I'm in no rush to replace my Nautilus I can see myself buying something along the lines of the upcoming Ioniq 5 N as a potential replacement for both the Lincoln and the Mustang. Seems like it could handle the utility and performance aspects of those two vehicles and leave some extra room in the garage. I don't do extended trips so EV is not an issue. -
What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?
handfiler replied to WWWPerfA_ZN0W's topic in Accessories & Modifications
I replaced my 4 stage UPR oil separator with a J&L (formerly JLT) oil separator. The UPR was a good design but poorly executed with badly machined O-Ring grooves, thus it was constantly leaking between the reservoir and body. I proactively replaced the UPR separator on my other car as well. The newly named company is still owned by the original owners of JLT. Top notch quality and after sales service. -
Newbie question on Edge Sync 4
handfiler replied to gman62's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
I only have SYNC 1 to compare it to and IMHO SYNC 3 is light years ahead of it. Can you offer up some specifics as to why you feel it's worth less than a pack of gum? -
Out of curiosity have you been maintaining them with a proper leather cleaner and conditioner? If not you'd be surprised what a good product can do to rejuvenate the leather surfaces. I have been using Leatherique for many years. The stuff is amazing. Avoid the discount auto parts products. They do more harm than good to the leather.

How to remove plastic cover under pax seat
handfiler replied to F4Gary's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
pax seat......lol. Automotive terminology would be helpful. -
It's mostly due to low usage. When I do clean under the hood I use the following method: - Cover the fuse box with a plastic bag. - Apply carwash soap with a pressurized sprayer and let sit for a few minutes. - Rinse with low pressure water. - Dry with leaf blower. Go for a drive to dry out any remaining moisture.

Thanks for posting your findings. Looks like a straightforward procedure. I'll be doing the same next year and will reuse the bolts and O-ring as well.

Because of the membership, this is the best Ford Edge forum. For the most part I don't have any problems logging in or with navigation. -

Unfortunately a lot of the members there are butt nuts. A small clique of current and retired Ford employees. -

My laptop spools up quicker than the time it takes to login to this website. It's that bad.

Cold Air Intake Edge ST & Sport 2.7EB

A work of art. My Lincoln still wants one :) -
Spackling paste is used for repairing cracks in drywall or plaster. What you need is auto body filler compound (Bondo). I would start by perusing YouTube for tips on what to use and how to use it.

Ford Edge Forum: WHAT HAPPENED?

Indeed. -
It takes at least 1 turn to get it to start draining. You using just your fingers to turn it? Don't be afraid to use more force to break it loose.

You're probably right on that. I'd just clean them and reinstall them with a touch of blue Loctite and call it a day.

What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?

Reminds me of a noise I had in my Chinese MT-82 6-SPD right from new. Redline MTL toned it down for a couple years but it gradually got worse. I was finally able to make an accurate diagnosis shortly after adding the supercharger. -
