Park outdoors: Ford expands recall for possible engine fires
handfiler replied to 1004ron's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
Cut and paste from the link: The recall covers certain 2013 to 2019 Escape, 2013 to 2018 C-Max, 2013 to 2016 Fusion, 2013 to 2021 Transit Connect, and 2015 to 2018 Edge vehicles -
I'm about to take the plunge and order a tune for my Lincoln. I uploaded my stock tune file today and sent it to Torrie at Unleashed. He forwarded it to SCT to see if they will support it. Unleashed is my first choice but I'm not holding out much hope that SCT will support my vehicle. I can see why though, not too many crazies like me wanting to do this. If that is the case I'll go with Livernois as they now support the Nautilus 2.7. I'll update this thread when I know which tuner I go with.

Extremely fast rabbit.

I hear Toyota's are pretty reliable. Buick came in first overall in JD Power's initial satisfaction survey. Lots to choose from if you're no longer happy with your Edge. Extended warranty was also an option.

Possibly. I think that in my case it's mainly due to low useage, a climate controlled garage and a Battery Tender for each vehicle. My Malibu is outside year round and went 10 years on the OEM battery, my Harley went 9 years. I have a Solar BA9 to test them. -

It's always best to confirm something is bad before replacing it. If I followed your advice I would have replaced my Mustang battery 3 times and contemplating a 4th by now. It' on the original and testing at 85%. -

Dont replace the battery without having it tested first. -
I tighten the housing to Ford's recommended torque specification just like I do for wheel lug nuts and all other critical components.

2013 Edge Subwoofer thump and battery drain
handfiler replied to Maddog9776's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
My 2012 Focus Titanium would do something similar. I'd be standing in close proximity of the vehicle and the sub-woofer and all door speakers would go to full volume and give off a massive thump sound. This happened randomly with no rhyme or reason. The Sony audio system was one of the worst systems ever. Thankfully ford moved on from it. This was one of many issues the dealer could not replicate. My only recourse was to trade it in.............on equally problematic Acura RDX. ? -
What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?
handfiler replied to WWWPerfA_ZN0W's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Brings back memories of the late 70's for me. My brother and I owned RD 350's as well as 400's. We could wheelie them for blocks. My brother also road raced them at the local level. Great machines! Had the opportunity to see Miguel Duhamel race one at our track before he made it big in AMA Superbike. He smoked the local competition that weekend. -

Also there is a restriction orifice in the dipstick well that will slow the oil entering into the well. The extractor will lose it's prime almost immediately.

2019 or 2020 Nautilus vs Edge
handfiler replied to jeffcarl's topic in 2019-Current Edge & Nautilius
Agreed. I have my entire CD collection ripped and on a 512 GB flash drive with a lot of room to spare. My CD player has never seen a disc. I'll have to try it some time to make sure it works. -

2019 or 2020 Nautilus vs Edge
handfiler replied to jeffcarl's topic in 2019-Current Edge & Nautilius
I have a factory ordered 2019 Nautilus Reserve. It has the 2.7 V6 AWD, Adaptive suspension and Revel Audio 13 speaker audio system and a few other option groups. The Revel system sounds superb but obviously the 19 speaker version would be better still. I test drove one with the 2.0 4 cylinder and found it underwhelming. The Nautilus is an excellent vehicle. I intend to keep mine for a very long time. -
Link to that survey?

Refer to step 6 in the documentation you provided. 6. NOTICE: Use care when pushing the caliper piston into the caliper piston bores or damage to components may occur. Compress the brake caliper piston until the piston bottoms out in the brake caliper bore. • NOTICE: Do not apply over 20 Nm (177 in-lb) force when rotating the brake caliper piston or internal damage to the brake caliper may occur -

That wont work for the rear caliper. You need the tool that rotates the piston as it compresses it. Disc Brake Caliper Compression Wind Back Tool -

I enjoy participating on forums and I also enjoy having a few beers now and then. I never mix the two however. I think it's better to have people wondering if I'm a jerk rather than confirming it. -

Easy to find out; drain some of the diff fluid. I suspect you'll find metal mayhem.
