This is good advice. When I did the 1 1/2" drop on my Mustang it road like a 3/4 ton. I ended up loosening the control arm, sway bar end link and the pan hard bar bolts with the suspension under static load and then tightened everything back up. The ride was much more compliant after that.

I wouldn't buy a new battery until I actually confirmed that the battery is bad.

I get that it's a thing. I jut haven't seen it in an automotive application yet. -
Fixed sunroof glass

In my 35+ years of working in the transportation window industry I have not come across a spec requirement for tempered glass panes as part of the composition for the laminated glass. Just tempered, laminated or variations of polycarbonate. I've tested them all to certify that they meet FMVSS 217 requirements. A fun aspect of the job as I really enjoyed destroying things ? -

Laminated glass is heavier and more susceptible to cracking. Tempered glass is considerably stronger and is cheaper to manufacture. It takes considerably more force for tempered glass to fail but when it does it does so in a spectacular way. Long story short they switched for cost and weight savings. -
A pressure washer (unless it's a gas powered 3,000+ psi unit) will not harm your paint finish. On the other hand most automatic car wash systems are hard on the paint. Here's a good start if you want to learn the basics: How-To wash Your Car

I find my Nautilus (identical power train) to have plenty of get up and go off the line. No complaints about the power whatsoever but maybe my expectations are different than those of the ST crowd. I also have a Mustang GT for comparison. It is well north of 650 HP though. Traction is a bit of an issue below 50 MPH.

Unleashed tuning charging for tune update?
handfiler replied to MrBelugaBiscuit's topic in 2.7L EcoBoost
I've worked with 2 tuners in the past. They provided after sales support with data logging and readjusted tune files to the point where I was satisfied with the end results. That's where the support stops. If you start installing parts that you didn't buy from them that will effect the tune, they are under no obligation to do it for free. Most tuners will wave the recalibration cost if you buy the parts from them. Standard industry practice. -
Not sure if you are aware, your avatar is upside down.

I go by the oil life monitor. At 12 months it indicates it's time for an oil change and it gets done promptly. Mileage is always well below the recommended interval. So simple.

Always satisfying when you do the work yourself and it all works out in the end.

Niceonept mistakenly thought Claude's garage was in the US. We corrected him. So yes technically speaking it is in North America but more importantly it is in the greatest of all countries Canada!

I'm fairly certain that garage is in Quebec, Canada.

I got a 2019 Edge ST.....what did I get myself into?
handfiler replied to TT Steve's topic in Welcome Forum!
Hey there TT Steve, Welcome to the forum. Pretty sweltering hot here in the eastern Canadian prairie as well. -
I don't have direct knowledge but I have stayed at a Holiday Express Inn on a few occasions.

Ford can tell exactly how many times the PCM was flashed and when it was flashed. I don't know if CARB has that capability. I don't think that would be their mandate. They are probably only interested in what is flashed on the PCM at the time of testing but pure speculation on my part. Thankfully it's a non issue where I live.

It depends on the level of modifications really. If you have installed an aftermarket supercharger for example, the answer would be no. If it's a tune file installed on a vehicle with no (or minimal) modifications then it's not an issue. Just like my X4 programmer does, the CARB test facility will be able to read what tune file is installed. It's all available by plugging into the diagnostic port.

Update Your Gen2 Edge To The Latest Sync Version
handfiler replied to Gadgetjq's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Lol. My 2012 Mustang still has the original map software installed for that reason. The original Sync version, what a piece of work it is. Most of the time I leave it off and just listen to the sweet sounds of the V8. It doesn't get much use right now though. Me, the car and the garage AC don't do well in this oppressive never ending heat wave.- 43 replies

Fair enough. I don't use the navigation all that often either. I use it primarily to interface with an AA compatible phone app.- 43 replies
