  1. Jetboy 47, I recently acquired a FT4Z-581178-C and have a 2024 ST. A big Thank You to rafeeki for selling me his extra one! I have not yet installed it, but from my measurements and visual observation, it will work. The screw holes and light plug cut out match up. I may have to do some slight modification to the center area around the hitch, but it is plastic and can be cut out very easily. I am planning an install soon and will post my results. If you can get either one (-C or -D) I believe the D would be the exact fit and no modification would be needed. But since they no longer exist, get whichever one you can at this point. I was just at my local ford dealership and there were 2 2024's on the floor. Both of them were missing this part. Shame on Ford for doing this to a brand-new vehicle.
  2. Might have got a little off track. I was referring to the hood insulator blanket. Not the engine cover, although it does look pretty nice. The hood insulator blanket doesn't do much for sound, but it looks so much better. Also, I think it protects the paint from heat damage. Thank you to this forum!!
  3. So sad to see Ford delete needed items from newer model year vehicles, shame on Ford.
  4. I agree. With tires you get what you pay for. I was lucky enough to attend the Ford ST/SUV experience in Park City Utah and put the ST with P Zero tires to the test. It was about 75/78 degrees, and they are awesome in warm weather. They stick like glue. Hard to break free until you force them. I only have about 6800 miles on my ST so I don't have much input on the lifespan, guess it depends on how hard you drive. I live in so Cal so they are good tires for year around use. They do seem a bit rough riding and noisy, but I don't have anything to base that on. I do plan on replacing them with Scorpion Zero all season tires when the time comes. From what I have been able to research they are a good all-season alternative and give good all-around performance.
  5. Thank you for all the great info. Haz directed me to another thread, and I was able to locate one through another forum member. The part number he has is KT4Z-5811778-C which I believe can be easily modified to fit. I too had to order and install the missing hood insulator blanket. In addition, the little rubber mat that goes in the forward passthrough of the center console was missing. It was about 45 bucks! And the little plastic tray that goes in the center console wasn't there. What a joke. Shame on Ford for doing this. Do they really want vehicles out on the road with missing parts? Let alone parts of the vehicle flapping around while driving down the highway? Sad.
  6. Davidoo could you give me the part number. Mine has the factory installed tow package.
  7. Rafeek, I just noticed the same thing on my new 2024 Edge ST. and I too have temporarily secured it with cable ties. My St does have the tow package and could you give me any additional information on where to get this part. Thanks so much
  8. I have a 2024 Edge ST with the factory installed tow package. I was under the rear of the vehicle doing an inspection and there appears to be a missing part. A heat shield. Where the rear muffler pipes branch off and head out of the trapezoid exhaust trim pieces. It looks like it would protect the rear lower bumper and lower trim pieces from excessive heat. There are attachment points to the lower bumper trim panel but no shield. I tried looking up parts diagrams and cannot find this rear heat shield but have seen it in exhaust installation/removal videos on YouTube. I am thinking Ford may have discontinued installing this part on newer ST models but didn't know if anyone had any additional information. For reference it would attach to the back side of the lower gray bumper trim piece that has the exhaust tip diffusers.
  9. I am pretty sure the little 4 banger is going to be louder and vibrate more than your V6 was. I have watched a few YouTube videos and you can hear the difference between the 2.0 and the 2.7 in the ST. My 2021 ST came without he hood insulator. apparently they stopped putting them in at a certain point. I ended up ordering one from the dealer and installed it myself as it came with the clips. Even though it is under the hood, it just didn't look right without it. Even though I did it for cosmetic reasons, I may have noticed a small amount of sound reduction, but the 2.7 V6 is pretty quiet so I am not sure how much difference it would make. But worth it if you ask me.
  10. Found it! Tighten the bolts holding the fabric material to the fender well and it is gone! I sent you a personal message and here are the pictures. Jiggle the area where my hand is and you should hear the sound. tighten the bolts about a half turn.
  11. Not to get off track here, but did you notice the electric motor in line to one of the cooing hoses attached to the cooler? I was more curious about it and one day I climbed under the car right after I shut it off. I heard the electric motor running, circulating coolant through the PTU. Hot coolant is circulated through the PTU after shutting down. I don't have any info at what point the electric motor turns on and off and what temperature, but if the Hot coolant is used to cool the PTU, that thing must get pretty darn hot! Interesting...
  12. Exactly the way I would do it. You did a great job on the pictures too. Thank you! I would bet the fiber gasket stays in its place if you pop the cooler straight out, or you wouldn't be able to re install the cooler as it would block the passage. Ford was hoping no one would come up with an easy solution so they could sell a new ptu when they explode right out of warranty!
  13. On my 2024 ST adaptive yes, glare free no.
  14. The one positive thing I get out of what you pasted is you were so lucky to find a Ford Tech that was willing to give it all he could to try a figure this out and fix it for you. Looks like he went the extra mile and gave it 100% to try and fix this issue. That in itself is a rare thing to find these days. What a nightmare to go through for you. The most interesting thing is that it only happened in sport mode. I had a 2021 Edge ST that was a nightmare from day one: I won't go into too much detail but- at about 1100 miles while out in the middle of nowhere a cooling hose came off (at the ptu cooler) causing overheat and leaving me stranded. Only to find from the dealer that there were three clamps not properly installed on the hoses from the factory. The car was never the same after that. It drove normal but the transmission developed a Slam sound randomly on acceleration from a stop. Multiple visits to the dealership and a lot of wasted time they changed some components of the transmission. The Slamming was gone but the shifting was always unpredictable and in sport mode a funny humming sound came from somewhere in the engine compartment area. In reverse there was a slight delay in response under acceleration. They drove the vehicle multiple times and said it was normal. BS. After two years and at 12000 miles (Jan 2023) I ended up trading it in for an identical 2024 St. After all the hell I had been through it wasn't a very smart decision on my part. Even though I had the extended warranty I never felt comfortable with the vehicle after an overheat. If I had been smart, I would have taken legal action and forced Ford to take the vehicle back under the California lemon law. The only reason I stuck with Ford is because I loved the Edge ST and knew it was the last year they were being made. I got the 8-year extended warranty hoping I never have to use it. I am at 6550 miles and only after driving both vehicles I notice there is a big difference in the transmission between my old 2021 and the 2024.
  15. Seems like going 7.5k on oil changes is pushing it. I do mine at 4-4500. I am using OEM semi synthetic as recommended by the dealer. The dealer did say using full synthetic would allow me to go longer on the interval. I think the turbochargers are dependent on good clean oil. Just my thoughts.
  16. Based on the video it sounds like something is loose on the outside or underside of the vehicle. Most likely speed/wind related. I would start by feeling around the outside and under the vehicle to see if something is loose. Also maybe sit over there and have someone else drive. It might help you pinpoint the location.
  17. Here is some interesting information: A big thank you Haz for this! Power Transfer Unit - Description and Operation - 2.7L EcoBoost - 2022-2024 Edge Workshop Manual.pdf
  18. This is from Ford: It applies to the 2022-2024 ST There are two different models of the PTU. The low torque PTU is paired with the 8F35, 8F40, and MMT6 transmissions. The high torque PTU is paired with the 8F57 transmission. The low torque and high torque PTUs are similar in design and operation. The ST has the 8F57 transmission
  19. Thank you chr8990 for the pdf on the ptu/rdu. I believe the ST's use a high torque ptu ? Other than a cooler there must be some stronger internal components.
  20. garycrist. do you have a recommendation on what fluids to use in the PTU and RDU? I know they each use a different fluid and there are some good choices including the OEM. I have heard about Redline shockproof for the PTU and not sure about the RDU. Thanks for any feedback.
  21. From what I know is you definitely want the PTU and RDU fluid changed. I would make sure that the dealership actually knows what you are trying to get serviced. Seems like some of them are in the dark on the PTU fluid change as it is not listed as a routine service. I think the transmission could be at a later time interval but not sure. I too would like more info on this as I will be taking mine to the dealer when the time comes for me.
  22. I can't speak for all models, but my 2024 Edge ST did come with the for/aft up/down headrests. The driver seat is still 10 way but the passenger is now 6 way adjustable. Used to be 10 way on my 2021
  23. A very big thank you, Haz. Not the first time you have helped me out. Very much appreciated!!
  24. Well an update- I verified the noise we are hearing is coming from that side of the vehicle where the rear cargo vent is. I verified that it is 100% speed related and most likely wind too. I don't think it is related to the seatbelt, but possible the fuel fill/door/compartment. It doesn't seem to be there when everything is cold. I also seems to be getting worse- as in happening at lower speeds. I am tempted to pull that drivers side rear cargo area trim panel off and have my wife drive while I sit back there again. I am not sure exactly how that trim panel comes? Looks pretty basic. As for my other little rattle- seems to be coming from the cargo hatch, down by the automatic locking mechanism. I will have to do more research.
  25. Never go aftermarket. Go OEM and you won't have issues. I know this from experience.
