If the reboot does not work, the fuse box is on the drivers side on the outer wall by the door hinges. Hopefully the fuse puller is there, mine was gone so I had to go get one because #3 is hard to get to and a pliers couldn't get to it. When mine said no usb I rebooted the ipod, plugged/unplugged, and even did a master reset on the Sync. Only thing that worked was pulling the fuse.

Is there a reason why more cars are not made with the hydraulic-type hood lifts instead of the stick to prop it up? Not that they couldn't fail also, but sounds better. Out of all of the problems listed with this new car the one that bothers me the most is the hood prop failing. That could have been tragic.

This just happened to me. Pull fuse # 3, check it and if it is fine put it back and then try it.

Last weekend the usb part of my Sync stopped working and taking the fuse in and out as suggested here made it work again, so not a bad idea. Maybe try another dealer? Not loving the Focus huh? When my PTU had to be fixed the rental company gave me a 3/4 ton dodge pickup with towing mirrors on it. That was interesting. They never match the rental to the driver.

Wow. I was kicking around the idea of a 2011 Edge and decided recently not to purchase the first year of the redesign. Glad I did. This car sounds like a hot mess. They should take it back. It sounds like half of the parts are not bolted on properly. Actually, it sounds like it was dropped from the delivery truck. Something is very wrong. For the kind of money you spent, you should get a new one that was not built on a Friday. This is very disappointing to hear.

This was an adventure. Sparky said to check the fuse, so I set out to do that. Got out the manual, found the fuse box. Apparently someone had already been in there. The cover was on crooked and there were greasy handprints all over. The fuse removal tool was missing, all that was there was the piece of tape that probobly originally held it to the back of the cover. Could not get to it with a pliers, it is the third fuse on the top left. So off to the automotive store to get a tool and fuse kit. Crawl back in there, get the fuse and it is fine. I put it back so that everything is the way it was to go to the dealer to get fixed. Well, I could not have been happier when for yucks and grins I double checked to see if my iPod would work and it did. Works just fine now. Weird. And honestly, I don't know mechanics work on this stuff, I could barely get in there to it let alone a large man with larger hands. Wow. Thanks Sparky.

Thank you. I will work on that today.

Yesterday morning my Sync usb that I have my iPod on worked fine. In the afternoon it did not and will not. The iPod always stayed connected and is only removed to update it once in awhile. I have done everything I can think of to remedy the situation: unplugged/plugged in usb unplugged/plugged in iPod Tried a different usb cord Turned on and off the iPod Did a master reset The usb will not charge the iPod either, seems to be no power to it. My iPhone streams to Sync just fine. Anything else I can do or is it just fried? Thanks.

That makes sense. Thank you.

Time for a dumb question. Why would tires go out of balance that fast? Unless the weights fall off what else causes that? Curious because I thought rotating was all I needed to have done. I do that with each oil change. Don't think they rebalance them.

I can't imagine that trade in/resale value would be any good if he created a Franken-Edge.

Re-read this. Your head should not be against the angled forward part of the headrest. They move.
-
There is a TSB for it? Where can I find that? Thanks.

LOL!!! MOFSTEEL, if you sell your Edge and leave the forum, who will take care of things like this?
-
Get out your tin foil hat. I hardly ever receive emails from Sync, just updates once in awhile.

I purchased my 2008 new in 2009. It was fine until I had the tires rotated for the first time. It pulled to the left really really bad. Apparently a little bit of lot rot going on with the tires. I had them rotated differently and it has been fine. I got the speech about the crown in the roads but it was way beyond it being that, I could hardly keep it straight using both hands on the wheel.

Not sure about the 2007, I have an 08. I think this has come up before on the forum hopefully one of the guys here will be able to tell you.

The radio volume goes down if the sensors pick up something, not when you put it in reverse.

Battery going bad?

I think back to the 70's, I went home as a newborn in a vette in my moms lap, and we rode in the front seat as toddlers and the rear seatbelts were always pushed down into the seats so we just never wore them. Station wagons had rear windows that opened with a crank from the inside and it was fun to hang out the back of the car in traffic. With that, it sounds like owning a car and kids nowadays is complicated. Between car seats and seat belts and safety features to keep the windows closed it is quite a lockdown situation for the little guys. Maybe being able to roll down the passenger window is a priviledge and not a right.

Before this forum changed earlier this year I could use it on my iPhone no problem.
-
Did you order one? It is a nice protector and that is still a great price.
-
Switch it to the unlock position and leave it there, then the windows can always be rolled down.
-
It needs to go to the dealer to be replaced.

This recently happened to me after a day of opening and closing it a lot. I went to the message center and turned it to manual to get it to close, left it over nite, next morning put it back to auto and it has worked fine ever since.
