Got her done. New plugs installed. Learned some valuable lessons for next time and found that most of the parts I purchased are worthless. PCV totally different and could not use the one sold to me and definately changed from the 08 to 10 models. This Gen2, 3.5 is not like the other videos on Youtube you are watching. Many differneces that almost had me stumped and caused Alldata research to be conducted.

IThe plenem gaskets I thought I bought were the wrong ones. I guess this gasket is only available through the Ford Dealer. So i cleaned the PCV and the plenem gaskets and reused both. I broke the clip to the EVAP line and fixed it with a zip tie. No issues noted as the seal was good just the holding clip broke. Lullubelle is now topless so if you do not like to see a topless lullebelle then do not watch the soon to be posted video.

TB was nasty, nasty, nasty, black carbon build up on both sides and since you have to remove the TB to gain access to the lower bracket plenem bolt I decided to give it a good cleaning. Luck had it I had for some reason decided to bring a spray can of TB cleaner which turned out to be a great thing.

I also penetrated Lullubelle with the endoscope and checked out the intake valves and the cylinders after I took out the spark plugs so if I did it correctly I should have video of the violation of Lullubelle. Overall everything look pretty good.

The end result was she started and idled great, seems to have a bit more pep and power. Time will tell once I get her on the interstate and run a few miles.

The only thing I can say is again watch the video (it will be longer) but it will save you a bunch of headaches and help you avoid the issues I encountered to learn and be prepared.

My prize for the day. Overall they look OK. These plugs appear to have copper threads. The new ones did not. Overall the engine runs better. Currently working on putting the video together. As I said earlier. The Youtube videos on the first gen 3.5 definately do not reflect the 2nd Gen 3.5 changes.

Had a series of fluid changes done yesterday. Oil change on Lullubelle. Full on stick and good condition after 5k miles. Then I had Blueberry's transmission flushed at 76K miles. Noticed a big difference in fluid compared to Lullubelle. We could see a slight tint of red yet when the fluid was flushed out. As a thank you bonuse the owner ran 14 quarts through Blueberry instead of the 12 quart recommended amount to give her an extra flush and then he gave me 10 dollars off the cost. $139.00 for the flush. Pretty good deal.

Here is part one of the spark plug removal and installation on Lullubelle. Due to the time and length of the video to remove and replace the spark plugs, remove and replace the pcv and remove, clean/reinstall the electronic throttle body I had to break this video up into three parts. A video just specifically on the endoscopic viewing of the intake valves and piston cylinders will be a seperate video. I should have most of them up and running yet today.

Part three coming soon. It may have an audio syncing issue. I have tried to correct it with not much luck but will wait to see after the processing. I think I may have mentioned Akirby agian about being a proponent of K&N air filters not sure, but something may have been mentioned.

Thanks Mac, your acquisition of 2011s is great for me. I only do ~10k KM a year (6.2K miles) but it is 90% stop and go.

Note the relearning from disconnecting the battery will affect the transmission too. This is not a bad thing, the car will learn your style of driving.

Apoligize ahead of time for the audio syncing issue. Here is the 3rd part to the sparkplug removal and installation. I will of course rework this segment again from scratch as this is the only way to fix the video. I just wanted to get it out there to complete the series.

Road Trip today for about 250 miles not one issue and extreme high heat index. Jobs sites and manufacturing locations were a momma bear for heat. You would think I would pick cooler days to inspect facilities that have fluidizer beds and ovens. LOL.

Lullubelle worked it like a champ and I was mostly two lane today so clocked in at 27.2mpg. She seems to coast better and not drag as much as she did before. Overall I think the cleaning of the TB and new plugs was a great thing to do. Bet the transmission flush was also a good thing. Very happy with the outcome.

Now to start working on a few more videos. Anyone want to see and endoscopic view of the inside of the intake manifold valves and cylinders on lullubelle at 96K miles? I need to know if it will be worth the time and effort to put the video together.

if true about the filter being "life time" that would be interesting .. given how dirty the trans fluid looked.

My buddy was a Ford transmission engineer for many years. He said if the filter gets clogged then you have already killed the transmission, therefore it is a 'lifetime' filter whether that lifetime is 20 years or 2 years. :)

Now have 600 miles on the sparkplug, TB and PCV work. Running well and loosening up. Coasting has noticably improved with far less engine braking. lullubelle now drives very much like Blueberry. Guess she just needed a little attention.

I have finished putting together the endosopic exploration video on the intake valves and cylinders. It should be ready to view in a few hours. I think some of you may be interested in how things look on the inside after nearly 100K miles. I found it interesting. The camera worked much better than I envisioned it would. I think I will use it for some future videos. Wish I could afford to get one of those go pros to video some things I do. Everything in it's time and place as they say.

Just note of help for CB. She is having some issues breathing and we are getting her to a specialist so if you pray, please pray for CB that everything is good. Thank you.

Here is the video of the endoscopic exploration of the 2011 Ford Edge Limited (lullubelle) intake and cylinders are viewed using an endoscopic camera. I found it interesting and hope to employ this camera more in the future.

I have not heard any loud engine noise inside the edge since I removed the engine covers. Maybe someone with more accute hearing would find the engine noise louder, but I have not experienced any change that would say the engine covers are all that helpfull except maybe from the outside it would tend to dampen the Klickety klack of the valve train. So for me the verdict is the covers will remain in the garage to be pilfered by the mice.

Not that I need to replace the LCA on the right side yet, but I have it now. This is a replacement LCA from the Orange Crush. Since the parts are all the same for the model years. I now have the LCA and sway bar link on hand. Just need the bolts and tie rod. The way I look at it if you are going in you may as well do a good job and ensure thing are in good condition and then you do not have to return later to fix the other parts.

Lullubelle has an appointment with dealer to see if they can locate the Mykey in the system and restore it. Then a diagnosis to see why she is dragging her butt around. I think the throttle body is acting up and the cleaning did not help. Still has the same exact issues where she actually slows down going down hill. Has hard time accelaerating and a slight hesitation. Hopefully a targeted diagnosis on the computers will isolate the issue. I will purchase and install a new TB myself if this is deemed the issue.

Mac, maybe you are aware but the 2011s (at least) cut off the fuel when you let completely off the gas pedal. It can make it feel like it is dragging and it can slow it down even going down a reasonable hill.

That does not explain the acceleration and hesitation problems of course. Good luck at the dealer.

Might be that I have to get used to the way it runs. The orange crush just rolled along freely.

150 miles today on Blueberry and I wish the other one had adaptive cruise. I love it. The acceleration is different with Blueberry compared to Lullubelle. Hard to pin point but she lags when it comes to acceleration. Wonder if Mykey has anything to do with it? Will have to wait for the analysis i guess.
