I heard it tapes flush to the hood which I am on the fence if that is something I want taped to the hood but also don't want chips so kinda torn. If one day you decide to sell your vehicle, if a potential buyer shows up and doesn't like it, don't worry, let him go as there will always be someone else who will. As for the hood deflector, I find that they're very unattractive and were popular in the early '90s especially on large trucks but now there are much better solutions than that. I just had my brand new '19 Titanium's front end wrapped with a clear film . The window tinting guys usually do these, just go ask them.
