  1. The radio should not shut off after 10 minutes. Should be at least 30.
  2. The first question is what caused you to buckle the seat belt on the empty passenger seat? My guess would be throttle body but since you have a CEL there is no need to guess - let the dealer sort out the codes.
  3. The procedure I'm aware of isn't really a power flush per se - it uses the transmission pump (with the engine running) to swap out the fluid - no extra pressure or chemicals. Maybe that dealership is using a different machine, or maybe I had the wrong info.
  4. Can't you take it to another dealer if its a Ford warranty?
  5. Oh I agree - the minor improvement just isn't worth the risks and effort and cost for normal everyday driving.
  6. Not true actually - nothing "invalidates" the warranty. But they can deny a warranty claim if the damage resulted from your modification.
  7. Any time you buy a used vehicle without a warranty you risk having a failure. It's entirely possible the previous owner damaged it. If you had purchased it new then the dealer might be able to assist with an after warranty adjustment but not for a used vehicle. Your only real recourse is to leave it closed or get it fixed and I would recommend getting more than one quote. $4900 sounds high if the glass itself is still intact.
  8. Never understood the benefit of the "edge" feature. Do you actually use it?
  9. Do you get a door ajar warning sometimes? If it's the factory alarm then it could be the door sensor - common problem.
  10. Every 5 seconds doesn't sound like the factory alarm - are you sure you don't have an aftermarket unit? Have you noticed any battery issues - slow cranking, not starting, etc.?
  11. Oh I forgot - if I accelerate more than 50% she thinks the engine is going to blow up and/or we're going to crash. Even in a straight line on dry sunny roads. I've only had to put up with it for 34 years so far......
  12. Sounds like my wife. She doesn't understand physics and car control at all. She sees a kid pull out and fishtail a little and she thinks he's about to crash. If I turn left with oncoming traffic she freaks out even though I clear the intersection 3 seconds ahead of the other driver. If I take a corner at 35 mph which is marked 25 mph and which can be safely taken at 45 mph with no problem whatsoever she freaks out. I've driven Ferraris and Porsches on a racetrack with Xtreme Xperience and she refuses to even watch the video - she thinks the car is just going to fly off the track and kill me at any minute. I tried to explain that it's much safer than driving on the highway where you have obstacles and oncoming traffic but she just doesn't get it. Likewise if cars are approaching a yield or stop sign like that I'm watching them and I'm prepared to stop or take evasive action if they don't stop but she freaks out anyway as if they're going to hit us any second. Must be that extra X chromosome.........
  13. Welcome! The only thing I would ask is to please read the owner's manual - there is a ton of useful info in there that will answer most questions. For the ones that aren't in there - fire away.
  14. The data plan is from AT&T - it includes a cell modem. I think it's $10/month.
  15. They lie. Those dates are published to dealers and updated at least weekly. It is possible the 8/5 date got pushed out, but if it did then there is a new date published to the dealers.
  16. Put the A/C on max and see if both fans come on. If not they're defective.
  17. This is available as an accessory. It looks to have the same functionality but requires you to purchase a cell data plan whereas the factory connect is included at no extra cost. https://accessories.ford.com/catalog/product/view/id/10667/s/aerial-asy/category/159/
  18. If the butterfly was moving slightly that could cause the rpm to fluctuate a little. I don't think I've heard of that type of failure but you never know.
  19. If it was a private party vehicle driven mostly highway (one owner) and not wrecked and there wasn't a long warranty repair history (dealer can check OASIS) then I wouldn't be too concerned. Not sure you can verify all that though so I would be wary.
  20. Traction control light typically points to a wheel speed sensor. Could be totally unrelated.
