  1. Are you asking whether the frame changed from 2014 to 2015? Most likely since it's a completely different platform. Does the one you found say that it's only for 2015-2016 or does it say it fits previous years? That would be a good clue. Or see if they have the same thing available for 2014 and see if it's the same part number.
  2. I think he was referring to the OP's problem. It could easily be a driveshaft especially since he never feels it through the steering wheel.
  3. It means they probably had either an assembly line problem or a bad batch of parts. Nothing to worry about - if there was a problem they would have fixed it.
  4. There is no difference in the escape, edge or explorer AWD systems regardless of what they call it. They're all FWD biased and can only shift torque to the rear for short periods, there is no center differential or locking diffs. There are some smart electronics to manage it in different situations but not true 4wd like your old explorer.
  5. The 3.5LEB is torque limited to protect the drivetrain in transverse applications - the D3 platform had to be modified to handle it. The 2.7LEB is an all new design and the new Edge platform was designed to handle the power. I wouldn't be surprised if the Edge Sport is putting more power to the ground at most RPM than the Explorer Sport.
  6. Possibly. Was the A/C on at the time? With A/C on both fans should be running.
  7. Too specific. Sometimes you have to use less words and just look through the results.
  8. I just plugged in "spark plugs" into the search box upper right and it was on the first page of results.

  10. Use the search box in the upper left and change it to "forums" and it will search the entire forum. I don't think the sport hitch problem is unique to the 2nd gen.
  11. If you mean lower than MSRP just increase the down payment to include the discount off MSRP. Or price a lower MSRP vehicle that matches your expected discounted price. Should be really close.
  12. Ford build and price gives you a payment calculator where you can plug in different down payments.
  13. Have you considered it might not be the wheels/tires? If it was and you've swapped the wheels front to rear you should get a vibration in the steering wheel at some point. The wheel balance issue may be a red herring. Check the rotors, calipers, tone rings, etc. next would be the drivetrain especially the driveshaft if it's AWD.
  14. Be sure to read the OM - lots of neat features, especially the keypad on the door.
  15. The NHTSA maintains a public database of TSBs with summary information. Don't have a link - just google it.
  16. Beware of locksmiths who are simply cloning your existing key. It works to get 2 working keys but the vehicle thinks it's the same key and you won't be able to add your own key later.
  17. Should be a normal wiper - just measure it and try an over the counter replacement. Or have the auto parts store look it up.
  18. It's not available, even as a special order. I don't think they do custom paint either. edit: (at least not for anyone not named Mark Fields)
  19. You can't add a key unless you have 2 working keys already. The reason is security - if you could do it with just one key then so could a mechanic or a valet and you don't want that. So you have to take it to the dealer OR a locksmith that has Ford IDS access. You can get the key anywhere (ebay, etc.) so you'd only have to pay the dealer for programming. Shop around.
  20. Aesthetics - the factory hitch won't fit the Sport bumper. Has nothing to do with the engine.
  21. Offset. Tirerack.com will show you which wheels fit your vehicle so you can figure it out from there or use it to compare.
