Huh? What exactly do you think they should be doing differently with the 2015 F150, Edge and 2016 MKX?
-
New MKX is a 2016 should be out by next summer. 2015 MkX is the same as the 2014.

Huh? All Edges are built in Oakville.

It's the system that shows the dealer which incentives you're eligible for.

2016 Ford Explorer Gets a New Face, similarities to 2015 Edge

Well that's confusing. I assumed the platform dictated the electrical architecture.- 10 replies

2016 Ford Explorer Gets a New Face, similarities to 2015 Edge

It most certainly does have something to do with the platform. In the past all vehicles on a platform shared the gauges/steering wheel, etc. Focus, Escape, C-max e.g. Fusion and Edge. It's simply cheaper to use the same gauges on vehicles from the same platform. With Lincoln they made a conscious decision to do a different cluster even on the MKC. So it's not a requirement that they use the same gauges but that's how it's typically done within different Ford models e.g.- 10 replies

Aha - now it makes sense. I didn't realize the edge concept had those gauges too. With the rumors of an Aviator return I think the Platinum Explorer is really the Lincoln Aviator until we get a real Aviator so it makes sense that it gets the upgraded gauges like the MKZ and MKC. I'd love to see Ford consolidate the gauges in the Focus/Escape/C-Max and Fusion/Edge. I hate going back and forth between them.- 10 replies

Edge has the Fusion dash, not Focus. Which makes sense because they share a platform. Explorer is on D4 which is separate and has its own dash design.- 10 replies

There is no across the board loyalty incentive. There have been loyalty incentives on specific vehicles in the past. It's a case by case model by model thing.

Now what did we tell you last time about no video?

Sounds like they used 10w40 instead of 0w20. Or they overfilled it.

Ford Edge Longer 7-Seat Version for China at Guangzhou Show

This is only for China. For now at least. -
Not only should the engine be running the transmission should be up to temperature. The procedure is outlined in the owner's manual.

My new Edge... Frustrating experience so far
akirby replied to Nicknack's topic in Owner Impressions
The car was bought used AFTER the bumper to bumper warranty expired. You can't decide to save money by not buying a warranty then expect the mfr to fix it for free. -
And did you follow the correct procedure to check the level? Sure sounds like low or incorrect fluid.

Protecting leather interior in hot dry climates

Don't think you have to do it every month but you do need to condition the leather every few months.- 11 replies

What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?

The only power benefit is at WOT where a less restrictive filter might let in a bit more air but not much. -
2015 Edge Official Pricing with DEALER COST

Most dealerships don't work that way although there may be an occasional exception. Most of the times the day of the week or month doesn't matter. -
13N02 - Extended Warranty Coverage on Brake Booster
akirby replied to omar302's topic in Recalls, TSBs & Warranty
Air is compressible. Fluid isn't. If there is air in the line then the pedal will be mushy and the pedal can be pushed further down as the air compresses. It definitely means there is air somewhere in the system or there is a leak. -

2015 Edge Official Pricing with DEALER COST

Sway control keeps the vehicle under control when towing and the load starts to sway back and forth. The main reason for no towing is the rear bumper design - can't accommodate the hitch. -
2015 Edge Official Pricing with DEALER COST
akirby replied to exodus's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
But the depreciation isn't caused by the dealer. It's caused by consumers. Nobody wants to pay full price for a vehicle that's been purchased and driven by someone else. Even selling it privately you get similar results. As for lowball trade ins - that's the wholesale business. The dealer can go to the car auction and buy a used car just like yours at wholesale prices so there is no reason for them to give you more than that. And there is nothing forcing you to accept a lowball trade in. You can sell the vehicle yourself at retail prices. I understand the sentiment and feeling dealers are ripping you off on trade ins but it's just an offer that you don't have to accept.
