  1. Oops - I was off by a year in my calculations on warranty. It is possible that 2009 was in service prior to March 2009 and if so the powertrain 5 yr warranty would not apply, although it never hurts to ask if the TSB applies. Sometimes Ford and/or the dealer will help out.
  2. I don't quite understand how being to see in the dark to start the vehicle is annoying, but to each his own.
  3. What you described sounds like a thump just like the TSB describes. It's certainly close enough. But you do have a warranty - the powertrain (which includes the transmission) has a 5 yr/60K mile warranty. Get it to the dealer asap and let them figure out if the TSB applies or not.
  4. What caused the cupping and did you get that fixed? Could be bad shocks.
  5. Doesn't sound right that the molded ones would fit so many vehicles. Double check the part numbers. It's possible they just don't fit very well.
  6. I don't have any on the Edge, but those sound like the flat universal fit versions that won't fit anything well. Get the molded ones that are specifically for the Edge.
  7. The ones I've used fit perfectly. Sounds like those aren't the right ones. Check the part number against fordparts.com.
  8. I think that's safety glass like the windshield with a plastic layer to keep the pieces together. Tempered glass is like the side windows that shatter into a million pieces on impact.
  9. You can easily fix that. (hint hint)
  10. That could be a difference in the bluetooth profiles. I haven't heard that complaint on the new MFT systems. Does it work when plugged in to usb? Maybe now that MFT has been stabilized they'll release a sync update for older vehicles.
  11. Carlo - bluetooth support for Sync is fine - it's usually the cell phone provider that's not providing the proper profile support. E.g. my 2008 Edge supported text messages to speech way back in 2008 with a Motorola RAZR phone but other phones did not work and still don't work today. That tells me the problem is in the phone not sync. If you think about it - what other bluetooth devices read text messages? Not many, so the cell phone providers just haven't made it a priority.
  12. There is nothing wrong with the Ford ESP. It's the only one to consider and it doesn't matter where you purchase it. The negative is that just like any other insurance product (and yes, it is insurance) the odds are in the seller's favor over the long run. Otherwise they wouldn't make money and would stop selling them. If you can afford to pay for your own repairs out of pocket then you'll save money in the long run by insuring yourself. If you can't afford a large repair bill from time to time then buy it with the car and finance it so you only have a small monthly payment not a large single repair bill. Of course that only applies to the length of the ESP - at some point it's no longer under any type of warranty and you have to pay out of pocket.
  13. The implication was the dealer's cost was $2340 so there is no way the other dealer could be selling it for half that. Which we all know is BS.
  14. The dealer price is not $2340 or even close to it. I believe it's a genuine Ford ESP.
  15. Use the status checker tool or run a Vehicle Health Report.
  16. You'll be better off in the long run with the newer software. But if you have Nav you'll need a new card.

Check the volume level on the phone just to be safe. Are you sure it's actually playing something? Try unpair, reboot the phone (power off/on), re-pair.
  18. It's been on the Lincoln website for awhile now. http://www.lincoln.com/crossovers/mkc/reveal/
  19. It's easy to prove or disprove whether it's the crown of the road. Check it in a flat parking lot, driving in both directions. If it pulls to the right then it's either a tire or the suspension or the brakes.
  20. Are you on the latest software? If you are then you have a flaky APIM. Have you reported it to the dealer?
  21. I wasn't sure if there was a phone option that could be turned off. But you don't have to do that. When you make or receive a call there is a "Privacy" button that appears on the Phone screen. Just touch that button and it will go back to your phone/headset but you can still use voice or steering wheel controls to make and receive calls. Best of both worlds.
