  1. There should be a small funnel in the spare tire area that fits in the capless filler and allows you to add things to the tank.
  2. Mac, did you drain your oil into an antifeeze tank... .
  3. If you take the weights off, expect the vibration to get a lot worse until they are redone. Also, if weights are taken off, the shop won’t know if the balance was really the problem and might want charge you to replace them. If there is an issue with the balance, they should take off the current weights and replace them when rebalancing (or they have to balance out the old weights as well as the wheel and tire).
  4. I agree. My preferred level would be right in the middle of two steps.
  5. The power steering hose on my 2011 had a leak when it was only 3 years old. It must have been small as I didn't notice myself; the dealer found it looking it over at my last oil change before the warranty expired. I've more grateful they found it now I see how much it costs.
  6. Thanks enigma, that looks like one I am getting, I'm glad it looks OK, that will be better than the grey primer spot on the front of my hood... I know it will take more than just dapping it on.
  7. Larry, does the mirror have Bluetooth? That could be the "no signal" message. Have you left the car running with it on? I have seen one of those mirrors that has the blue box every time it is powered up, but goes away after a while, That one had a button on the front, if you pressed (or maybe held) it the blue box would go away. It was a solid looking replacement mirror with Bluetooth, auto dim and the screen, but the blue box was oddly there by design.
  8. Thanks akirby. Both paintscratch and Dr. ColorChip look good, but since I am in Canada on only have some small chips I have just ordered the 2-part OEM touchup paint for ~Can$23 and I will see for myself how it is. I will post the results (it might be a while; I might not get it for a week and then I have to find the time use it carefully)
  9. I think all auto manufacturers are the similar on rust warranties; they won’t do anything if it isn’t all the way through, which doesn’t generally happen within 10 years. The issue is where metal is folded over are the edges. Moisture can get stuck in there and depending how it was prime/painted it could be bare metal underneath. I have noticed on the bottom of the doors on my 2011, the metal is not crimped all the way over. I think that is to avoid the moisture trap problem.
  10. Klasse are great products but there are now newer finishes that are just as good and easier to apply. That being said, I have lots of Klasse left and will use that up before buying something else. That is a great idea to do the console, I'll add it to my spring cleanup!
  11. I'll add that The Works here in Canada costs $70, compared to $40 minus a $10 rebate I see advertised in the US. Still not bad if you need the inspection (I just wish they wouldn't over-torque my lug nuts every single time...)
  12. My Edge is similar to Akirby's Fusion. It will blow with the A/C when I would think it is too cool already, but only around at 68F or so. I asked about it at the dealer and they said "everything" checked out normal. It may be that the car is a bit warmer than the outside temp because of the sun.
  13. I need to touch up a few stone chips on my platinum white Edge. I have heard the OEM touch-up for this colour is poor so I was going to order some from Dr. ColorChip. I see now though a two part OEM paint with a basecoat and topcoat. http://www.amazon.com/Ford-Motorcraft-Platinum-Basecoat-Topcoat/dp/B00BR05EEY/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1426453042&sr=1-1&keywords=ford+platinum+white+touch+up+paint It has limited reviews but all the relevant ones are good. I thought the OEM that has poor results was a one step. Is it actually this 2 step or are they different products? Has anyone here used it successfully?
  14. Here ia another review/ad saying the new Edge is the closest we can legally get to a self--driving car right now (with enough options I guess). http://www.theglobeandmail.com/globe-drive/reviews/new-cars/review-2015-ford-edge-as-close-to-a-self-driving-car-as-can-legally-be-on-the-road/article23445304/
  15. Here is a descption of some of the changes from a Canadian perspective (looks more like an ad actually) http://driving.ca/ford/edge/reviews/road-test/first-drive-2015-ford-edge
  16. That is a cheap de-greaser and don't think it is somehting a detailer would use. The Zep Purple Richy mentioned above is avaliable at Home Depot and Canadian Tire. There is a weaker orange one if you want to start more carefully. They are only $12-14 for a gallon jug. I use the orange on my tires and wheels with no ill effects.
  17. I had a retractable cargo cover in my previous Subaru Outback. The guy I bought the car from said he didn't use it because it was always in the way of something; I tried putting it in a few times and he was right. I prefer the Edge with the tinted rear windows now (of course, I live in a good neighbourhood in good city - crime wise at least).
  18. I have had the picture upside down three times over 3.5 years. The APIM was replaced for other reasons after the first event and it still happened again this winter. Also, it gets vey cold here in winter (-25C) and the problem is very rare on mine, so it isn't just the cold (I think the first time it happened it wasn't below freeziung). Mine works fine otherwise though.
  19. There is TSB on this, it is on this site http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/4677-problem-with-door-ajar-sensor/page-2 It is cover by the New Vehicle warranty.
  20. With MFT, hold both the cd eject and radio seek up buttons with the radio on. Yes you get a no disc errors and changing stations but it works (at least on my 2011).
  21. It sounds like Canadian prices! You can buy a used intelligent key on ebay for ~$100 and get another dealler to do the programming.
  22. The locking cap looks nice but it seems it is just for tamper reistance and it doesn't look like it would seal the opening if the capless system is leaking vapour.
  23. You don't need to use a relay and tap into an existing circuit; you can double up a circuit with a second fuse with one of these: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/390596568367?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2648 I have one but haven't installed it yet, and I think the cover may not go on once it is in. You can connect it to a 12v socket and hide the connection under the dash, leaving your existing plugs free. Also, there are unused spots in the fuse block by the drivers feet that go off with the ignition (they have fuses in them but they are spares). I don't remember the numbers of the switched ones but I think they are on this site. Of course, adding a circuit to the fuse block without an adapter would be a challenge...
  24. In my experience the Sirius promos end a few days later than they say they will. The current promo is on until Feb 16. I don't think the list of subscriptions means much during the promos; when they are on, mine says I am subscribed to everything except music, but the music is working.
  25. I have I CanadIan Galaxy S5 on Android 4.4.2 and texting works as expected. It is a different version than you have in the US though.
