  1. One of mine came out while in was under warranty and it was replaced by the dealer. If it happened again I'm on the same page as Omar, I would use a few drops of silicone glue to hold it in.
  2. Here, where your vehicle is coated in fine salt 5 minutes after it is washed most of the winter, this is a fairly normal looking undercarriage. All that area is pelted with whatever is on the road, damaging the minimal paint on it. I don't think suspension rust causes many problems, and though brake rotors can get very rusty on the non-wearing surfaces, they usually keep working fine (getting bolts off can be another story though). Years ago I did have a brake line rust through on a 15 year old Toyota.
  3. I have had the tirerack sensors on my winter wheels for 5 years with no problems.
  4. I have marshmallow on my Android phone and it didn't cause any issues with the MFT reading texts. Did you factory reset? Maybe it changed a setting. Go to Bluetooth connections and click the gear beside Sync. Make sure it has access to your messages.
  5. To go inside you would have to go through the firewall, find a place to hide it, then back out through the floor. I would run in underneath, under the plastic underbody panels (perhaps in a loom for extra protection). When I installed mine, I just tapped into the point point in back since i only ever pull a small trailer with led lights.
  6. When i had my BT battery drain issue I tried an auto BT app (can't remember the exact name and there are a bunch with similar icons - blue with the BT symbol). It wasn't perfect but it worked well. It may have known I was in the car though location (ie, when the BT disconnected) and velocity. The description said it would know the difference if I was taking the bus (but I have an Edge, why would I take the bus!).
  7. A quick search told me that the issue was caused by apps that constantly access the BT, There were one or two mentions of Gas Buddy so I uninstalled it to see the effect. .
  8. I leave my BT on all the time, When I updated my Android phone to Marshmallow the BT started using almost half of the battery even though Marshmallow has better battery saving options. t turns out my Gas Buddy app was the cause. When I uninstalled Gas Buddy, the BT battery use went back down to negligible.
  9. I changed the battery in my intelligent fob earlier this year because it wasn't working half the time. The replacement was worse even though it was full voltage. The replacement was a cheap battery from a 25-pack and was slightly thinner than the original. I changed it for a brand name battery and it has been working perfectly for months now. I tried to put some thick tape under the cheap battery to raise it up but I only helped a bit for some reason.
  10. Just note that can get to -35 celsius here in winter yet I could still buy pink washer fluid that freezes at 0C. I wouldn't take that even if it was free.
  11. I use all purpose cleaner with a big soft brush and a regular hose on mine How clean they get depends on how much time your want to spend on it.

    IDS/Scan tool?

I have a BT unit on order from Aliexpress and it should be here any day now. I saw a reference to one that looked the same on the Forscan forum saying it worked well (doesn't mean it is the same though). It seems most of the cheap Chinese units work ok with Torque, but not so well with Forscan. I intend to wire in a switch to access MS-CAN; there are instructions on the Forscan forum. I don't need it for anything now, but figure it would be good to have in my toolbox. I will post the results and which one it is once I receive it and make sure it works.
  13. My 2011 had the same issue on the front and it was replaced under warranty Maybe it was a bit worse than that but not by much. The dealer said they had to take a picture and send it into Ford for approval. The same thing happened again and it was replaced a second time under warranty. I don't look closely at it now the bumper-to-bumper has expired. It looks like clear plastic over the chrome with the problem under that. It is probably moisture seeping in a causing the cloudiness.
  14. I have a 2011 and holding the eject and seek up buttons get me in to the diagnostic menus. It does give a no disk error and change stations but if I hold them it gets in there. I haven't seen anything interesting in there but then I didn't have a problem. I believe for the 2011 both Sirius and the GPS use the same antenna. There is Sirius preview channel (maybe 183) on when you aren't subscribed, so you should be able to see if the antenna is working. Others here may have ideas about how the battery change could be involved.
  15. I have 17" alloys for my winter tires (from Tire Rack when the CAN$ was doing a lot better). There are almost the same diameter and are only a bit narrower, probably the tread is a bigger difference. If there is slick snow on the road my traction control will flash once in a while but I take it easy and don't have problems.
  16. My 2011 Edge's TMPS resets by itself when I change the wheels back and forth. I don't usually ever see the light, though last year it was on for a day or two after it changed the wheels.
  17. Well Mac, you may of found out already but when it gets to zero there may still be three or so gallons left. Of course, I don't suggest getting that low.
  18. Mac, maybe you are aware but the 2011s (at least) cut off the fuel when you let completely off the gas pedal. It can make it feel like it is dragging and it can slow it down even going down a reasonable hill. That does not explain the acceleration and hesitation problems of course. Good luck at the dealer.
  19. Thanks Mac, your acquisition of 2011s is great for me. I only do ~10k KM a year (6.2K miles) but it is 90% stop and go. Note the relearning from disconnecting the battery will affect the transmission too. This is not a bad thing, the car will learn your style of driving.
  20. I have had both a Galaxy S2 and S5 and both have work fine with my 2011 MFT
  21. Thanks Cinnamon. In addition to being faster, the vista roof motor should have an easier life too.
  22. Yours is working correctly, there are three leds across the two cup holders.
  23. Mac, since you do so many highway miles would the 2.0 make much difference in fuel economy? My 2011 3.5 sucks back the gas in all the stop and go I do but on the highway I can get great economy (close to 30mpg), since I can do 120 km/h at 2000 rpm.
  24. They say "leather trimmed" since the seats aren't all leather. They are leather only on the parts where your body would normally touch them. They do look very similar all over though
