Those are probably the nicest running boards Ive seen yet for the Edge. Good Job keeping them simple and clean.

YES. Spoke to my sales guy on Friday when they thought my Wifes Ex was ready to pick up (it wasn't after I got there), Asked how new sales were going and he said that since sales have slowed due to the upcoming election, they're doing everything possible to unload cars, so I guess it is a good time to be a tough buyer.

Jeramie, Whatever happened with your Edge?

Mothers California Gold Water Spot Remover for Glass
Edgieguy replied to icee's topic in Appearance - Detailing, Wash & Wax
I just got some DuraGloss NU-Glass and used it on a microfiber applicator on a Griots Garage DA Polisher. After polishing a newly washed car I was stunned to see how much garbage I buffed off the glass. I really thought my windows were clean since its a pet peeve of mine to look through a dirty window. Still shaking my head... http://www.autogeek.net/duragloss-nu-glass.html- 6 replies

Ask A Professional Detailer?
Edgieguy replied to CanuckG35's topic in Appearance - Detailing, Wash & Wax
Hey Richy what to do you think of the Decon pad from Carpro? As my confidence grows, I think i'd like to add one of those to the growing arsenal, claying is not my favorite. -
Welcome aboard! MPGs will increase noticeably after 10-15K miles. Two years and Im still in love with my Sport

Welcome, congratulations, yes the pleated filter will fit.

Beautiful! You know that's the fastest color that the Edge comes in right?

Something I Did to Protect The Hood On A Trip
Edgieguy replied to blankster's topic in Appearance - Detailing, Wash & Wax
Tape it. You'll be glad you did when you're getting your clear bra installed, And just like Blankster did, put a layer of duct tape over the lower valance. We tape up the front of our MR2 when we take it to Watkins Glenn and our front lower valance looks as nice as the rest of the car. Over 2000 miles there's plenty of time for a few rocks to beat up your new vehicle. -
When I was getting my Sport, the dealer kept adding stuff to get me to sign every time I questioned something. i.e. "Ive still got 4 lease payments" Dealer said, No problem we'll take care of them. "I don't think we need, back lit door sills and the cargo package call me when you get a truck without those" Dealer said, No problem we'll just take that off the price. I was at a point where I had incredible incentives, coupons, rebates and not reasons left not to buy the new Sport so I signed. Believe me, I don't regret it at all. I love my truck and as far as me and my sales guy think, I stole it! Moral of the story, it doesn't hurt to ask and make them feel like your a minute away from getting up and leaving. Things were a bit different economically in the fall of 2010, but I dont think car sales have rebounded that much since then

Used this to clean up the front of my wifes ES350 before we traded it for the Explorer. I wish I had taken before and afters! It was fantastic, how well it worked. It certainly helped that we traded the car in, in the rain....But the front end looked great without 100+ chips. I really should order some more now that we have two Fords the same color.

Thoughts on this offer for a 2013 Sport?
Edgieguy replied to gumercindo's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
Do you have a brochure coupon? Its worth $750. If you request a few brochures through the internet site, (doesn't matter what for i.e mustang, Edge, Focus) then you can also use that as cash off. Search some posts regarding the $750 and youll see how most people were successful in getting them. Price seems fair. MAke sure you read all the promotional stuff for cash back. You can also try services like autobytel and Costco. Maybe its worth some extra $$$ -
Ive brought in my Sport at least once that I remember, and was told that all four tires were unmounted, the rims cleaned, the tires wiped and remounted and I still have leaks. My neighbor joked to my wife about how often i check the tire pressure and adjust it and how I'm such a "car guy", little does she know id have severely worn tires or worse if I wasnt out there checking tire pressures every few days. I guess it'll have to go back to the dealer again. Sigh....

Sold my 2011 Edge Sport to CarMax this weekend
Edgieguy replied to sandjunkie's topic in Owner Impressions
The Larger tires definitely don't help! These 22's weigh a ton, but there have been major improvements since 2007. My 2008 limited was lucky to get 24-25 on the highway -
dsage, You know I never thought I cared for that Lexus color, but the more I look at that picture the more I like it. Nice!

HID bulb for 2013 Edge
Edgieguy replied to Calibre's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
You know, come to think of it...I was told to use a 9006 in our 2011 Explorer, and had a real bitch of a time lining up the bulbs... Yet on my Edge I used a 9005 and had no problems. Im going to compare the two when we get the Ex back and see if it makes a difference. Ill report back once thats done. -

Someday Ill come across one and try, in the meantime these billet badges look cool.

^Yes, this is true in all states, I believe it can be found in the federal register as well as all state motor vehicle laws. Here's the problem. When people retrofit lights into say...a 1982 Corolla the light is dispersed in 1000 different directions blinding drivers in the other direction. After HID retrofits became popular a few years ago I think it was the national transportation safety board and DOT got together and wrote that up. With that said, I think if its done responsibly it can be fine. By responsibly I mean lights like ours, or at least lights that can be aimed after installation. I had HID retrofits in both my 2008 Limited and mt new Sport, I adjusted both headlamps after installation and have no never had light bleeding out to blind on coming traffic. Of course, no one has time to look at all the different vehicles these can be applied to so they're illegal for all. I have issued tickets for HID lights, but i've given A LOT more warnings. Completely blue or pink colored HIDs, especially ones that blind from 1/4 mile away are clearly a hazard. Done responsibly, I have no problem with these and that seems to be the general consensus among my peers. On a side note, while we have a 2013 Limited with HIDs on loan from Ford as a courtesy car, I compared my aftermarket HIDs with the Ford OEMs and they are set to the exact same height and spread as the stockers, albeit my 5000Ks are a bit whiter.

Like the title says, I thought it might be fun to see some members other rides. I guess I'll start.... 1994 Toyota MR2 Turbo 2004 HONDA VTX1800C

We noticed this too, and have been relying on our phones as well. We just got pushed a new update on our Android phones, I believe jellyroll? Anyway, in it my Samsung Google phone google page not only estimates where i might be headed based on where I am, it tells me the time to get there. I would love to see someone write a MFT program that pushes info like this from a connected phone to MFT. But it seems that App development for MFT is stalled. Nothing has ever been written for it.....sigh

Occasional transmission slipping upon starting after stop.
Edgieguy replied to dudley's topic in 2011 Edge & MKX
Do they need to disassemble the entire trans for this fix? I've heard that once that's done the trans has a greater chance of leaking in the future versus being left alone with the factory seal which may last the lifetime of the vehicle. I'm just wondering if I should i've with the occasional bump or have this done?
