Welcome to the forum! Nice to see some PNW representation

When was the new fluid installed, was it a drain and fill or a complete flush or ...? It's possible there's a clog somewhere in the system. Is the coolant at the COLD FULL mark when the engine is at ambient temp & turned off (on a level surface)? Did they put in Mercon V or Mercon LV? It's also possible the torque converter is giving up the ghost. When were the plugs and PCV valve replaced? Oil changed regularly, with 5W20 Synblend & Motorcraft filter?

Center Console removal

You mean the Restraints Control Module (RCM)? The LockPick guys have a nice video HOWTO for the center console: -
Ford Edge 2016 SEL VS Titanium SDCARD and AUX
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to t0lkman's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Do you know why Ford did this, akirby? -
Brake fluid looks much better! You might want to periodically watch it to see if any debris comes out, and replace a bit at a time instead of flushing. Take what's accessible in the reservoir (no more than say till 1/2 way down the neck) and replace. For the power steering fluid, have you tried getting the air out by a] verifying the fluid is indeed filled correctly to the FULL line, b] taking the reservoir cap off, and c] turning the steering wheel lock to lock 10x or so (do not hold at lock position) while the engine is running?

Welcome, Gerald, congrats to both of you on the 2015!

New Edge Sport Upgrade/Accessories questions.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Gerald Valdez's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Speedo only needs recalibration if the total diameter of wheel + tire is off. If the tire compensates for the change in wheel diameter, you should be good. There are a couple of threads where people have installed light bars in the 2011-14 Edge, but not 2015+ (yet). -
Honestly, sounds like a wiring/harness issue to me, could be a more general ground issue but I don't think the injectors are individually grounded.

Have that as well, but the brake engagement sequence has made a major difference. IIRC (now that I do it automatically LOL), shift into Neutral, engage parking brake while foot is still on brake pedal, then shift into Park. Reverse steps when getting ready to go. All with engine running of course. Hard to find an R&R mention in the FSM, still looking. A handy read on how the pawl functions, for those curious: http://myautomatictransmission.com/transmission-parking-pawl.htm

In a 2009 SEL, yes, it should be (6F50). Only the EB-powered Flex gets the 6F55. The EB Flex arrived in the 2010 MY. The only difference in procedure would have been how the main control cover is removed (very first step). Rest is exactly the same. Not sure if it is worth replacing, but if it's little extra cost, why not

Most of the work is done by the PTU, not the RDU. The Edge is a FWD platform, AWD comes on when needed. The amount of fluid in the PTU is 30% of the quantity in the RDU. Easy to see why the PTU fluid will suffer. The cooled PTUs still blow out. But they also have a drain plug and (in police applications) a regular service interval.

No issues with mileage? Might very well be a slightly damaged wire harness on the #5 cylinder. Have you inspected it for integrity? Any carbon buildup in the cylinders? Could be occasionally chunking off and causing the misfire (secondary ignition). Inspect with boroscope (USB one should be good enough). Tried fuel system cleaners like Techron on BG 44K? I found that I had the best results from an ongoing addition of TC-W3 (WalMart brand) oil at 4-5 oz per tankful.

They should fix that for you.

Not all fluid is clear/light amber. ATE has some products that are blue in color, BG I believe has a product that is a pinkish red in color, so on and so forth. Helps detect leaks. So it would be more accurate say the MAJORITY of manufacturers sell brake fluid that is clear/light amber.
-
At least we can cast off any discussion of PTU issues with your Edge LOL!
-
There are "dummy" sensors you can plug in for the rear units (basically a resistor) that can fix the code issue. Haven't heard of anyone trying it on the Edge, might work.

Digital speedometer for 2010 Edge
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Teqheat's topic in Accessories & Modifications
With access to programming the IC, maybe some wiring/soldering work, I am sure it's possible. Unlikely to be a quick switch in/out though. -
Only missing some tube amps Have you had a chance to check out the Revel system in the newest MKX, omar? Thoughts?

Automatic Door Lock
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to firefamily's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
I don't know on the 2015+, but on 2007-10, you could use the door lock control switch or keyless entrypad or the IC to program it yourself. 2011-14, keyless entrypad or the IC. NOTE: I have only looked at the 2010 & 2011 FSMs, not verified yearbyyear ... 2007-14 Edge MKX Autolock and Auto-Unlock Programming.pdf -
Welcome, glad to have ya here! FWD/AWD? Color? :camera:

What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?

Notes on the NA version of the 3.5L: http://www.motortrend.com/features/n...06/112_news51/ Cyclone Hits Ford Powertrain Automotive Design & Production - January 20, 2006 Ford's 3.5-liter VE will debut in the 2006 Lincoln Aviator and Ford Edge crossovers. From there, use will expand until one-in-five North American Ford vehicles use this powertrain-codenamed "Cyclone"-by 2010. The all-aluminum engine has the same package size as the smaller displacement Duratec 30, but produces an estimated 250 hp @ 6,250 rpm and 240 lb-ft @ 4,500 rpm on regular gas. It has a 10.3:1 compression ratio, rev limit of E,700 rpm, and produces 71.5 hp/liter. "The 3.5-liter engine has been designed to accept either transverse or longitudinal mounting," says Barb Samardzich, v.p. of Powertrain Operations, "and the architecture has been put in place for upgrades like hybrid capability, and gasoline direct injection with or without turbocharging." The engine has a Fully counterweighted Forged-steel crank with induction-hardened journals and six-bolt mains, Fracture-split powder metal-Forged connecting rods, and cast-aluminum pistons. High-pressure die casting is used in making the block, and features cast-in iron liners. This process was chosen due to its tighter process control, more consistent results, reduced raw material requirements when compared to conventional sand casting, and a reduction in post-processing and hazardous byproducts. In addition, the base Cyclone VE has variable timing on the intake cams that uses a hydraulically activated spool valve to rotate the cams up to 40° within halfa second. "The engine is PZEV-capable," says Samardzich, and has an electronic throttle, low heat transfer exhaust maniFold and close-couple catalyst, and direct-acting shimless bucket tappets. At the start of production, the engine-which is produced at Ford's Lima, DH, engine plant-will be ULEV2 rated. In transverse applications, the Cyclone will be mated to the BF six-speed automatic transmission developed jointly by Ford and GM. Designed to handle 300 hp and 280 Ib-Ft of torque, the transaxle has a maximum shift limit oF 7,000 rpm and a 6.04:1 spread between first and sixth gears. It is the first automatic transmission from Ford to use a chain-driven off-axis pump with optimized porting. This design reduces package size and improves NVH levels.
