Super SPAM? Very interesting find, Cellbine! Apparently a silicone based technology from Ross Nanotechnology Corp., now marketed by Rustoleum. Rustoleum says it "dries to a flat light haze", so I don't think it is suitable for surfaces where the shine is desirable. Still, worth experimenting with. MSDS here: http://www.rustoleum.com/MSDS/ENGLISH/274233.PDF http://www.rustoleum.com/MSDS/ENGLISH/274234.PDF

Sounds a little low to me (rated for up to 16/24) IF you were not using A/C. I guess if you were using a lot of cruise control, increasing tire pressures, and hypermiling, you COULD squeeze 1-2 mpg more out of it.

Tried to add a new photo album, can't find the darned button to do so. All I get is SELECT ALBUM. Oh well. And yes, I know I need to get that cover cleaned

Do you have a backup camera installed? That would be something to add to your dvd/nav upgrade. -
10-21-14 maybe, not sure.

Good luck with your sale. That is a beautiful color for the Edge, especially when cared for. Hopefully you can get into a Ford Flex!

Nope, no towing. But in this area, highways are notorious for traffic slowdowns, like creep along slowdowns Luckily, I had only about 6 miles of that yesterday. Besides that, the city driving was low speed as well, lots of slowing and accelerating at lights and people ahead turning right.
-
Welcome to the community! What color did you go with? How did you come to choose the Edge?
-
Nothing to crow about here, but here's mine: 2007 Edge 228.5 miles 21.0 mpg 41 mph Avg speed for trip 85% highway, 50% very hilly highway (meaning had to really get revs up to keep speed up). Will post pics later before I move the Edge again as proof of life

Until we get pix, we believe you are riding on 14" rusted steel rims

Isn't that what duct tape's for?
-
Hmm. Maybe a catch can is in order if the TB is getting dirty from that. Space is already plenty tight in that compartment tho.

PM thirdgenlxi, he may be able to help. Especially if no one else chimes in on this thread.

Nice wheels! Are they 18s? The tires definitely assist in giving the Edge an "offroad" look tho. That is a LOT of wheel gap. OEM for the 18" is 245/60 (per edmunds), which gives you a sidewall of 147 mm. Don't know the exact size of your current tire, but you would need a huge tread section to match up to that. Sidewall is a %age of tread width, as you know.
-
Especially since there is an air filter ahead of the the TB, and there is no PCV vent pre-TB! Is the TB clogging from the intake manifold side? Blowback maybe?
-
Congrats! Now cancel all your plans and pick it up posthaste

Older model vehicles did store a code when PCM was on the fritz, so reasonable to assume the same here. What codes, if any, were you able to pull?
-
An issue has been noted with the PCM being the culprit behind bad coils. And if it has a bad PCM, it can lead to ALL the problems you have described above. Replacement of the PCM/ECU may be your solution.

Sounds like the blower motor is on its' last legs and needs to be replaced. Haven't really heard of them dying so "soon". Callout Name: 19805 Part Number Part Description Price Your Price Availability Quantity 19805 (MM-966) HVAC Blower Motor Manual Air Conditioning $206.71 The same callout name/number is used for the automatic climate control system as well. http://www.fordparts.com/Commerce/CatalogResults.aspx?y=2008&m=Ford&mo=Edge&initSearch=1&keyword=blower#Search I am sure you can get the part cheaper at several online sites, including our sponsor, Levittown Ford Supercenter.
