When I changed the plugs I took it out and blew it out with compressed air then reinstalled it. The vehicle was used and I am assuming it was not the original filter, but I just do not know. At most it may have been replace once or twice in the vehicles life time. No way of telling if this occurred. If this continues I will take the extra MPG, but on other thing I was in idle also for about 25 minutes waiting and still got the mileage up there. Well time to start working on the rear shock video.

Actually the mileage part was what actually occurred. I will monitor the mileage as I always do. I reset each tank and reset the trip #1 each tank. I have not hit 26mpg for a while so not sure if it was a one off thing or will continue. Maybe the old filter was just really bad? Or maybe that one new tire made all the difference. LOL.

Slight steering wheel shake after new tires installed
macbwt replied to AndyinMN's topic in 2011 Edge & MKX
I know I just had a cut tire and bought a yokohama YK580 just to get me home and down the road until I buy the new snow tires. Next spring I will buy the Bridgstones. Most likely keep the yoko for a spare tire just to hang around for an emergency replacement. Most likely not much better than the hancooks I have on it. -
Made it home and I did not change anything including the fuel. The mileage with the new air filter went from a solid 23.5 average to 26 mpg. Maybe I just needed a new air filter. I did change one other thing. Seems that razor knife blades tend to destroy tires so I was in a rock and a hard place and ended up buying one Yokohama YK 580 tire to replace the cut hancook. Go figure it was the one tire with the best tread.

Just ordered new strut bearing mounts for Lullubelle. Next time I will order the struts (KYB) and the left front sway bar link (already have the right side) November I should be installing the new parts for the front suspension and then snow tires. I estimate total parts costs Links, bearing mounts and struts to be around 350.00 or less. Shop fees will be about or under 50 dollars. Garage/dealership fee would most likely be near or about 700-800 dollars depending.

All I know is I change the oil on my 2011 Edge monthly. Just imagine those torques stripping out and then me tossing the shield in the Engineers failed design bin.

Slight steering wheel shake after new tires installed
macbwt replied to AndyinMN's topic in 2011 Edge & MKX
I will give you a very honest opinion and I buy a lot of tires. Remember it is my opinion. You bought crap tires. You get what you pay for. If you want a better smoother tire get a set of Alenza or the Bridge stone dueler Alenza ecopias. They are smooth quiet and pretty decent in the snow for a MS rated tire. You however will pay 150 each for them or a little more. Not counting install and balancing. -

mcali6301 I had a vehicle like yours. Got rid of it. Ford Edge is a great vehicle, but yours was apparently rode hard and put away wet. -
The sound was the after. In hind sight maybe I should of recorded the before also. Maybe Blueberry will get an upgrade and I will get my old brain to remember to do the before and after.

2013 Edge SEL left rear brake dragging
macbwt replied to wally67's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
I would also recommend removing the brackets and blasting them rather than wire brushing to ensure a good clean surface that would then be coated with brake grease to slow the rusting. -
I like YT videos!!!

Got a low tire warning this morning at 6am. Stopped at gas station and installed winter air in each tire. The summer air had deflated so decided it was time to change it out. Good to go now. LOL

It's all in fun. I really like being able to clean the filters and reuse them. Overall I believe since this one is cleaned using an emulsification type solution to break up the oils and dirt. I will use a diluted mixture of detergent based on the SDS sheet for the cleaner. Cheaper than buying the over priced cleaner.

You should be able to get in there to look at it with some bending and twisting of your body or a smart phone to take video or pictures. Not sure what the dealer is saying, but as you see in the video the PVC is an assembly and I could not separate them without damaging the assembly so this is definitely a Ford OEM part not available at a parts store. It might be just me but getting to it seems to me that I would have to somehow create an extra movable joint in my forearm. It was far easier to remove once the intake manifold was loosened and moved.
-
The PCV "Assembly" is located in the back under the intake manifold next #2 cylinder (if i remember correctly). Check out my sparkplug install video and I show you everything about the PCV assembly. I do mean "Assembly" the hose to the PCV is heat shrinked together with the quick disconnect elbow/tube connection. You can not just buy a PCV for the 2011 and up. The next best thing to do if you do not want to buy a new one is to invest in a big can of Throttle body cleaner and hose the heck out of it then reinstall it. Which is what I did.

2011 Ford Edge 18in wheel oxidation on rim bead video

Follow up: No loss of air pressure noted after one week. The fix appears to be working. -
Just an update the Monroe Maxlifts are working great. Glad to have ditched those strongarm garbage lift supports.

Gas station was a mile down the road no fears. I rarely let it get to that level but sometimes time runs out and you have to push. Anyway new AEM dry filter ordered and will be installed tomorrow (Note: Making the install quick video just for Akirby just because he is such a fanatic on after market air filters) LOL. Thought I would try out a dry filter vice the K&N oil type to see how it works out.

You should not be getting any noise from the rear brakes at all due to the noise dampeners. If it comes from the brakes it would be the fronts, but I am doubtful. Make a few mores post then post the noise video.

One of the rare days I was running late and was hit with this decision at the same time. Conundrum no doubt.

That deserves a diagnostic at the mechanic or dealer. Best of luck.
