The TSS and OSS sensors strike again.

Prinzll no matter what type of tire you purchase I will catch up to your mileage and pass you. Still working on it.

You did not mention duct tape. Duct tape fixes everything.

I may be installing this AEM filter minder on my Lullubelle this weekend. I met with the tech at Engineered Products and had a discussion on it. They sell these branded and manufactured for almost every auto parts and auto manufacturer known. Even if it says one brand name on it it is still sourced through Engineered Products out of Waterloo Iowa. Here are a few photos of the AEM low profile filter minder I have. My goal is to follow this on the Ford Edge and see just how long my AEM dry air filter will go before it activates the AEM filter Minder.

2009 FWD 100k Mile Suspension Overhaul - Help w/ Partslist
macbwt replied to Chingon's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Wow great parts list. If you wanted to skimp a little the rear stabilizer link is where I would cut costs. I have never had a rear stabilizer fail. Also unless the outer tie rods are bad you could hold off on those. Again I have never had an outer tie rod fail either. As far as the bellows and insulators. Visually inspect and if not damaged or deteriorated then you could also reuse those parts. Again I never had to replace those parts either and my Orange crush had many many more miles than yours does. Important note. Get ALL the bolts from Ford for the LCA replacement. All of them!!! Should be about three each side the two vertical and one horizontal for each side. The PCV replacement as WWW suggested is a good idea as it is a pain to replace later. Also by saving money on the parts I have mentioned you could reinvest your money like WWW stated and replace the two front wheel bearings. Only thing is once you do all this you will love the ride and not want to get rid of the Edge!!!- 15 replies

Personal preference when I open the hood I want to check the engine and components. The cover requires tools to remove and the back covers are a pain in the but to get on and off. If you did not know there are actually (Two pieces) to the 2011 engine covers and the back piece is a pain. If you have a problem on the side of the road the last thing you want to do is figure out how to get the cover off unless you carry a tool box with you all the time. Just my preference. On that note I have left the engine cover on my wife's 2011 Ford Edge not that she would notice. The cover IMO does nothing other than try to look good. Plus mice love the stuff and will eat it at any opportunity thus baiting them to crawl into your engine and eat your wiring.

Classic TSS and OSS transmission sensor failures. If you do not replace them they will continue to create this problem. 700 dollar repair more or less. Once done you will be trouble free or at least I was.
-
Mine is sitting in the garage providing free room and board to the mice. Took it off and will never re-install it.

I have the next video getting lined up. I will be going to the manufacturing facility for FILTER MINDER in Waterloo Iowa. I plan on getting a filter minder for Lullubelle. No one has ever installed one on the Ford Edge that I am aware of. My contacts name is Bruce and he knows me as he went to school and graduated with my younger brother (yes there are more of me, actually three more) Anyway Bruce and I will be discussing the Ford Edge Forum and the install of a Filter Minder on my Edge. I am hoping for some video but will see how it all works out. He is going to help me determine the best location for the installation.

2007 AWD suspension refresh - help with parts
macbwt replied to shumax's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
There is a lot of logic and financial sense to do a complete job rather than part of it. I actually have a right side LCA sitting in my basement waiting for the day to install it. I seemed to go through right side LCA's faster. Maybe I should stop running off the road and hitting curbs when I turn.LOL My experience with testing a ball joint is exactly as you did your test. I believe my video even shows the testing of the ball joint, but maybe not. Symptoms while driving are the wheel feels sloppy and causes the car to drift left or right. Enjoy the new suspension. -
2007 AWD suspension refresh - help with parts

If the rear shocks are at 100K or more definitely replace them as it will save your tires. I missed the part about your rear shocks. A Moog sway bar link should give you no problems to pull them off as they have a better design than the OEM. Yes I did have a set of rears go out on me one KYB was leaking and I replaced both. In all the miles I have driven I have never had to replace sway bar bushings. The only reason you would do this is if you drive canyon walls like WWW. Moog sells the LCA's for about 70-80 dollars on Amazon etc. A genuine ford LCA goes for 230.00 each. In my experience it will always be the ball joint that fails and have never had bushings in the LCA fail. You can by the new press in ball joints for from Moog for about 25 dollars, but it takes almost as much effort to remove the ball joint as it does to remove and replace the LCA. Getting to the ball joint to press it out almost requires you to remove the LCA. This problem makes it easier just to replace the whole thing. If you do replace the LCA watch on the video and purchase all new bolts or you will be like me cussing and using a saws all to remove it. -
Little off topic but you might not notice too much but I have lost about 20lbs and going down just trying to become half the man I was!!! Feeling better for it too.

I decided to take a different approach to the snow tires to describe the benefits and sort of grabbed some footage off of the cutting room floor so to speak to make this video.

IMO opinion you could get away with just replacing the struts. Check the ball joints to ensure they are sound. You may need the new sway bar links as sometimes they do not cooperate and end up getting cut off. Other than that you would be good to go. I have never replaced the spring rubber seats and just reused them unless they are bad. I am getting ready to replace the struts and sway bar links on my 2011 and that is all I am replacing. You will appreciate the better ride the new struts provide. I have been down that road before and new struts are soooooo nice!!! -
Three Ford Edges combine miles 483K miles. Great MPV's and great to drive.
-
However the only way to get this checked is to go to a Ford Dealer and request the diagnostic since you will not get a light telling you your system is gone whacky.
-
Sure looks like it. You are ahead. Have you replaced your front struts yet?

Darn HVAC fan under the dash started growling and whining while I was driving in the snow storm. I eventually got tired of hearing it so stopped at a rest stop and opened the glove box and pulled out the filter to see what was going on. Checked the fan (yes it was off) stuck my hand in and the shaft and squirrel cage plastic was in good shape and no movement. Checked the filter and although looked to be time to replace I did not see much of an issue. Spun it around multiple times backwards and then gave a few hard whacks (technical knocks) and then put it back together. Stopped making the noise and is quiet again. I might of mumbled something at it about getting a bigger hammer so maybe it decided to straighten up and do what it is told. LOL

I am still out on these tires. Discount Tire store brand. Not a true Yoko that is sold everywhere. Need more reviews other than Discount Tire reviewing their own tire.

Depends on the driver mostly. Then the type of driving. Your mileage I would say is about normal.
