  2. The below information is what Strong Arm lift supports sent me as to why their lifts supports do not work. They blamed Ford!!! The problem is they do not even open an inch and do not start to work until I have the lift almost over my head. The only thing they manage to do is hold the hatch open. If you are expecting these to push open when unlocked they won't. Their design is to open about an inch and then you have to get them started. About half way up they will start to open slowly by themselves. That is the reason Ford is pushing their electric power openers.
  3. OK word of advice do not buy Strong Arm lift supports!! Not at all satisfied with their performance. The monroes lift supports are far better in my opinion after just a few days it was the wrong choice.
  4. 22's might look sharp and nice, but all show and no go. I will stick with the 18's for durability and comfort.
  5. APIM is dead RIP......now off to Ford Dealer for a new APIM.
  6. No but she looks funny with the pine tree air freshers tied to her. Blueberry needs to be de Furred. Norwegian Elk Hounds shed about 13 gallons of fur twice a year and about another gallon each month in between just for good measure.
  7. Took Blueberry camping and came back Sunday and Blueberry smelled like a wet dog inside. Investigated the smell and located a 100lbs wet dog in the back of blueberry. Took wet dog out of Blueberry and sprayed with air freshener and left windows open for a while. Seems better now.
  8. Changed the lift supports. No usable video due to many causes. Sometimes the ladies are just not into it. Watched it and I got a headache with all the bouncing and jiggling. Anyway. I will replace Blueberry's lift supports and do a timed lift since it is a power lift to see if new lift support speed it up or slow it down. Should be an interesting comparison. Anyway no more headaches hopefully. Have a great weekend we are taking Blueberry camping this weekend.
  9. Yep new boiler tech in the Navy was always sent to supply to get a set of Fallopian tubes for the boiler. LOL
  10. Stong arms are in. Will have to get MG, CB and MomOSHA ramped up for a quick install. Speaking of quick started the day thinking I would have it easy and ended up with two new clients. Lullubelle is going to be putting on even more miles since the one new client is in Sioux Falls South Dakota!!! 4 hour drive one way from the office and a 6.5 hour drive one way from the home office.
  11. They are rubber just like the transmission torque mount.
  12. That was the last time!! New lift struts (strong arms) on the way. Rear lift does not go up all the way and my head hurts.
  13. All righty then, can you hear me? (spongbob hehe) Here it is a family video on flushing the power steering and everyone had a job. Check out the inset video of MercyGirl turning the steering wheel. Cuddle Bug was the one that was videoing the whole thing. Not bad for a soon to be kindergarten school girl.
  14. Power steering flush has been accomplished without using one single conventional tool. You all are in for a real treat as my film crew involved a total of three people with multiple camera angles. It should be interesting.
  15. Depends on your mechanical abilities and tool access. Based on how you phrased your question I would recommend you take it to a mechanic.
  16. I would think you would be watching the AC compressor video.
  17. Been evaluating on methods to change out the power steering fluid. I have decided to go with the flush and fill method that anyone can do right in their driveway with hardly a single tool. It should be an interesting view and flush.
  18. That sucks. Of course I would do the work myself, but still the parts alone are maybe what half the price you mentioned.
  19. There is a big difference between the two model years. The Edge you drive is a non ecoboost. they changed to Ecoboost in 2012.
  20. You are covered get her in the shop and get a new tank. The 2007 got some legs on her great to see the high mileage!!
  21. I have not heard of a Ford Edge left or right motor mount failing. I however did have a transmission torque mount fail that caused some torque steer issues. Pretty easy to diagnose. Set the parking brakes and then shift forward with a little gas then reverse. You will need a camera under the Edge to point to the transmission mount to record if it is moving a lot. Part is pretty inexpensive if you order it through rock auto or maybe through levit town ford but it will cost a bit more. Fairly easy to replace also.

    Engine noise

My 2011 ticks, the old 2008 ticked. Just keep driving.
  23. These articles are some great info. It actually addresses my concern about the feeling of dragging when I let off the gas and now I understand the result of this by reading the articles and it is a normal reaction due to the way Ford set up the timing and valves to feel the braking. It also addressed the added braking feeling due to the alternator also kicking in when the engine is in the braking mode to take advantage of the fact that the gas has stopped flowing and utlizes the inertia to take advantage of the unused power from coasting or slowing down. It all seems to make sense now and in all actuality sort of mimics my battery powered Golf cart in regeneration braking.
