Generally the sway bar link is not difficult. Be very careful when removing it or it will strip out the hex insert. If that happens then you get to break out the saws all or cut off wheel and go to town on it. I recommend the Moog problem solver sway links. I did a review on it on my channel. These links are made to be removed easily and then reinstalled along with grease fittings for longer life. My LCA removal and install video shows what happens when they strip out. As i understand it WWWPerfA ZNOW has to replace his about every six months due to him running canyon walls with his Edge.

Just hand tight should be good. Wow I have never had that happen. Then again If I did I would be all over that mechanic and ready to kick his butt. LOL

Broken sway bar link....I would say. Jack it up and tug on them. Most likely broken at the weld and you may not of noticed it. check out this video and listen to the noises about 3- 4 minutes into it when I am going forward and reverse. The noise is a broken sway bar link. Transmission torque mount was wasted also but you can hear the sway bar link clanking.
-
Just brake noise. Sounds like a morning start with a little rust on the rotors.

Here is the other Key Fob battery replacement video for Lullubelle.

I assumed when the new tanks were going to be available that ford would be using plastic fuel tanks as replacements. Is this true and can anyone verify? It just does not make sense they would replace the tanks with metal tanks. If a dealer did this then they outsourced the replacement and when they tried to charge Ford they were told no payment and to install the correct tank.

The AEM filter and gas mileage? As much as some may say it is not worth it and does not work my results so far are favorable as I am currently averaging almost 2 mpg more per gallon when compared to the previous filter. I changed nothing in the engine. Trip home Friday was closing in on 27mpg on interstate at 75mph. South dakota showed me 24mpg at 83 mph

Blizzaks every winter. Just remember accidents in the winter are not due to acceleration but the inability to stop and turn. Snow tires provide that ability. Remember even if you have all wheel drive when it comes time to stop all vehicles are the same. The ones with snow tires will win every time.

Changed out the batteries in BlueBerry. Plus learned something about what happens when you open the door with no live battery in the key fob using the key. Wasn't expecting that!!!

They do get noisy. I however used them three seasons for an approximate 60k miles. I only used them Dec through March each time.
-
This is how I tested my 2008 with many many miles on it and the transmission torque mount was bad. Then again I had almost three times the mileage you have.
-
Not quite 4 months and 22k miles have been logged on Lullubelle. She will be getting new legs and shoes in a few weeks.

Bridgestone Dueler HL ecopia 422 might be a good over all choice. For real snow traction go with the Blizzak DM-V2
-
Not a lot of miles to be the motor mounts or the transmission torque mount. Fairly easy to check by engaging the e brake and then shifting foward and reverse an watching the motor mounts and engine movement. Same for the transmission torque mount under the car. Torque converter or fly wheel loose?

I paid just under 800.00 dollars for my 2008 when this occurred. If it is done by Ford you should not need to reset anything (if the mech did his job) One other note is bad gas mileage is possibly (most likely) due to the winter gas mixture. You might of dropped a couple mpg due to the gas company's adding butane to the fuel which is a low power additive..Then mix that with Ethanol and you get crappy MPG Question have you changed the plugs?

Wow you have patience. -
Checked the battery and it is good it was a 59 series? and I am wondering if I should eventually change it out for a 65? It does not have remote start. The key fobs batteries will be changed out on both vehicles I bought a four pack and they are use the same size battery.

Another possible symptom is I have noticed my remote locking and unlocking has required me to be a lot closer to the Edge to lock or unlock. I used to be able to lock it or unlock it from the house now I have to be on the street close to the Edge in order to unlock it.

Battery has been in the car since February when we bought it. So I would rule that one out. I think the battery got tweaked when it completely died when the lights were left on over the last weekend.

Today the battery saver has been turning on. I am betting the battery that died earlier is failing. It is only about 10 months old but, I have had batteries fail early in the past. Guess I will keep the portable jumper handy.

Brand new. Apparently the MTD original had faults so they have engineered a supposedly better transmission. It looks fairly simple to remove and install. It failed late February of last year so I figured I better get it bought and installed before the first snow flies. Getting too old to shovel and my princesses and queen do not feel it is their job to shovel. This is where the boys would come in handy not to mention also on repair videos. I am guessing they will grow up to feel Dad is their mechanic.

Front struts and one more sway bar link ordered. Total parts cost about 225.00 (two kyb struts and two moog sway bar links) I figure the shop fees should be about 50 by the time I am finished. Not sure what dealership or shops charge but I bet it is around 500-600+ dollars. Should be able to get this done in the next few weeks. Then of course I will hopefully have some video on a 2011 Ford Edge strut replacement.
