  1. I guess I am that one guy as I top off daily. Seriously I do it daily.
  2. Lift the rear cargo lid make sure the plastic or foam inserts are in securely and the spare tire removed and reinserted and tightened. Things should quiet down a bit for you.
  3. Sorry about that. But hey you got er changed out now and no worries. Always read the cap and RTB!
  4. Squeezed 460 miles out of the last tank of gas. Mileage was running 24.8 or so. More heat this trip than A/C. Of course I am getting better fuel mileage than my wife which is running about 16.5 mpg. All city driving for her.
  5. Could you please tell my wife this!!! LOL Glad you got it repaired. Don't forget the power steering fluid. HA HA you might want to check your math on the savings but I get that you saved about 130.00
  6. This one shows a ford edge wheel bearing replacement on the front left.
  7. Different ford, but he explains the noise and how to determine the wheel bearing responsible.
  8. Not one single computer program will be viable in anything after 15yrs. Any vehicle you look at included. You may as well resort to reliability in the sense of mechanics as the electronics will not keep up with the changes.
  9. The transmission fluid change was done on my 2011 with just about the same miles as your 2010. Might want to do this also.
  10. Keep in mind I was just betting on which one was bad not knowing where the noise was coming from. Law of averages. If the noise seems to be from the front then it very well may be. Sometimes it can trick you as the noise can travel and appear to be from one area and actually be another issue in a different location. I bet the interior air filter in the glove box has not been changed and is completely clogged. I doubt the power steering has fluid has been changed, transmission fluid, brake fluid etc. Most dealers only change the engine oil and leave the rest to you. When I buy a used vehicle I change all fluids as soon as I can.
  11. Yep, and bet it is the right rear wheel bearing. Now all you need to do is verify which wheel it is and then replace it. Note: I say right rear because for some reason those are usually the first to go on the Edge. Then the right front after that. At least that is how it worked out for me. I replace a total of 6 wheel bearings in just under 300k miles on the Orange Crush.
  12. Unless you want to rebuild the head and valve seats at 100k miles I would not recommend a Subaru. This issue is well documented and expensive. Not a 15 vehicle. Not sure what you are basing the crappy MFT on but I have not had an issue since the replacement of the APIM and updated software on both 2011's Go with the sante fe shorter wheel base and smaller engines if you are just hanging around town. Otherwise go with the Edge longer wheel base and much heavier smoother and quiet ride. The engines are also very durable and with proper maintenance get you to the 15yr mark with relatively little worry.
  13. Me thinking out loud. sure sounds like water in the gas.
  14. Which means you most likely boycotted my AEM air filter video
  15. 4 months into the drive with Lullubelle and averaging close to 5k miles a month. The shake down is over and she is cruising along. I have made it a goal to change the tranny fluid out every 30k and treat it better than I did the transmission on the orange crush. Will see if this makes a difference long term.
  16. Ohhh update on the AEM filter. Mileage has leveled out to 23.9/24.0 pretty steady and is a bit above what it was prior to the install when it was using the old paper filter. I think it has some benefit just don't tell Akirby I said that.
  17. New strut bearing mounts are in. Now to gather up the other parts (struts) and one more sway bar link.
  18. Lullubelle left me wanting this morning at 520am. Dead battery. I recharged it and started her up and deducted that when I took her for a bath the car cleaners moved the light control into manual and left my lights on and I did not pay attention to it on Saturday when I parked her. Then she sat there and slowly died until Monday morning. Guess I better pay closer attention to the chimes.
  19. Just a thought and not sure if this would cause an issue but double check the following: 1) Pistons were screwed back all the way on the calipers 2) Brake pad nipples are seated properly in the piston groves/notches 3) Emergency brake system is properly adjusted and in the resting position and not engaged.
  20. Recently installed new rear shocks on the 2011 Ford Edge limited with about 106K miles on the original rear shocks. I chose to use KYB shocks for the replacements. The installation required the partial removal of the two rear interior quarter panels and the rear flooring and storage tray supports around the spare tire. Full access can be obtained by just partially removing the rear quarter panels. Not a long involved job. Without video you could get it done in about an hour. Keep in mind the changes from the 2008 to the 2011 Lower bolt for shock has been increase in diameter and the bolt and nut both have different sized heads OEM shocks to KYB shocks both used different sized nuts with the OEM being larger sized compared to the KYB nuts and the threading was different also on them so you can not used the same larger nuts from the OEM. The hula skirt is an optional item to use while changing the shocks. LOL Hope the video helps. Just a note: There would of been more video, but I forgot to hit record a few times.
  21. I use the Rock Island Arsenal for all of my DIY vehicle repairs. 5 dollars and hour for bay rental with lift and all tools. The mechanics they have on hand are a plus as sometimes I need their knowledge and experience to accomplish some tasks. Plus they have full computer access to All Data for vehicle repairs. I have been thinking about doing a short promo video on the Auto Skills Center as the guys have become more interested in what I do and even at times want to be in the videos.
  22. I wonder in a pinch would guerrilla glue work on a tire?
  23. The switch needs to be replaced. Disconnect the switch or replace it. The touch switch tends to fail apparently from other posts made on this forum.
  24. Washed and cleaned out Lullubelle inside and out. Oil changed and the antifreeze flushed and ready to go. Bring on the winter (well almost anyway) still have to change the struts and add snow shoes.
  25. A few differences I encountered during the installation of new rear shocks on Lullubelle vice the time I installed new shocks on the Orange Crush. Larger bolts on the lower point and the bolt and the nut both had different sizes. Go figure. Anyway it is not a true MAC T video until I break something (and I did) anyway here it is folks.
