  1. On both of my Ford Edges. Using OEM tires the 2008 Orange Crush ran 2mph slower on the ODO than my GPS. On the 2011 Lullubelle she is running 2mph slower on the ODO than the GPS. Using the GPS has never failed as I do not get stopped by the cops for speeding. (well maybe once) LOL
  2. I feel the pain for you. I had a Suzuki that had an internal water pump fail and it was about 900 dollars just to get it fixed (twice).
  3. Lullubelle is starting to dance on the bumps. Time approaching for new front struts and the rear shocks install is going to happen soon. I want to thank all of you for watching MAC T videos. MercyGirl and Cuddle bug appreciate the college fund assistance. Thank you so much.
  4. You may be limited to the wheel width and diameter as far as the tires being able to seat on the bead. I used the standard sized 17inch snow tires for years on my edge and never had an issue. Stick with the correct size and be sure they will be reliable.
  5. Slotted and drilled will increase the risk of metal fatigue and thus heat and pressure can result in stress fractures. They look really great but in the end are not a viable decision for daily use or even racing. They just look neat. I have been using the high carbon rotors with ceramic pads. So far all I can say is wow. The higher the heat the better they work.
  6. It all looks good. Just be sure to check those ball joints out while you are tearing it apart. If you have to replace the LCA/Ball joint then get all new bolts (DO NOT USE THE OLD ONES).
  7. If you are curious about replacing the lift supports on your power assist rear hatch and wonder will it make a difference? Then this one is for you. Enjoy.
  8. Thank You. I did see the young lady was shook up but appeared to be alright. I am sure the air bag in the face was not a pleasant experience. Note: The firemen that appeared later seem rather disappointed as I am sure they were told the car was on fire. So when they arrived they looked around the car but could find no fire. I am sure some people thought WTH!! why does this guy carry a 10lbs CO2 fire extinguisher. If you are not familiar with them they are a bit on the large side.
  9. Not to mention the feeling of accomplishment!!
  10. The first time changing plugs and or coils would be the most difficult. After that it is easy. Definitely worth the effort to DIY this considering the cost savings.
  11. Some of you may have seen my video on how I use my 2011 Ford Edge for work. I mentioned I carry two fire extinguishers for my job for training purposes. Well those fire extinguishers inside Lullubelle were used for the purpose they were designed for yesterday when I drove up to a multi-vehicle accident and the car in the photo was on fire.
  12. High mileage week for Lullubelle. Just about 2k. She is still shaking at the thought of my new client in Sioux Falls SD in January. Brrrrrrrr.
  13. I have always tried to use Moog replacement parts. A parts salesman I know and see often in my travels related that raybestos bearings are used car dealer bearings.(stop the noise and out the door) SKF are his choice for bearings. He bases this on the least number of returns. Moog he said is right up there with SKF. The rears for some reason were my first bearing to go also, but I ended up replacing more on the right front than any other wheel.
  14. You sure there is not another issue in that assembly causing the bearing to fail? I went through three on one wheel only because the replacement failed, but the new replacement was good. I did have the left front make a pinging sound and they torqued it an additional 15lbs and the noise stopped. The bearing never failed.
  15. And here i thought that boat propeller thing I installed on my receiver hitch was giving me an additional .0001 hp
  16. I pushed my plugs too far once and ended up causing an O2 sensor to also fail. Change the plugs at 90K and you will avoid other issues.
  17. No I did not but then again why? 2008 Edge ran great doing the same thing and tranny was great when I traded it with over 285K miles on it. However I get my results does not mean I am right or wrong. The same goes for your manner of maintenance as being right or wrong. We will both do what works for each. My edge made it to 285K miles on the original transmission. Let me know when you get there on yours.
  18. Ha Ha MG went on strike. Seems hauling wood after I cut it with the chainsaw was too much work. Anyway changed out the OEM lift struts on the rear hatch of Blueberry. Question is did it make the powered lift hatch, FASTER? SLOWER? or the SAME? I guess I will have to put together the video for you to find out.
  19. Just a follow up on closure for the Orange Crush. A friend had access to carfax and checked the vin. The orange crush has no record of registration or sale to another person or anything other than "SOLD" I can only assume ford motor company has made sure the orange crush never returned to market. RIP.
  20. Do not over do it on this just take it for a fluid change at a reputable shop and let the machine do the work. 150 bucks and a cup of coffee and off you go. Full fluid exchange and can still enjoy the whole day.
  21. Both of you have the same problem. Replace the transmission sensors and it will drive just fine. Cost will be about 800 dollars and it will run without a problem.
  22. From back left to right Bank one (rear) 1,2,3 From front left to right bank two (front) 4,5,6
  23. Agree the injector was the only thing not checked. Rule that out then the more expensive things come into play. A good engine scanner would be able to manipulate the injectors for testing to ensure they are operational.
  24. You won't make it any worse than it already is by changing the fluid. A bit of a myth. The problem is that once the tranny is done it is done. NO matter what you do. that being said......You do sound like you are in he window for the speed senors in the tranny needing replacement and this more than likely would repair the issue. Not knowing about previous uses however this may be a bad tranny, but the 6f50 has been a very reliable tranny for the edge. The cost to replace the senors in the tranny will run about 800 but you get a full fluid change with it also.
  25. Check the scrap yards on line you will most likely be able to find one.
