  1. I had the fuel cap light come on. I replaced the fuel cap in the late fall. LIght stayed on for a while then went off. It then stayed off for most of winter then returned in spring with warmer temps. Later the light went off and stayed off in the summer. Not sure how to say what was going on. Still a mystery. Never reset anything.
  2. I changed my fronts out the first time at about 175K miles and the rears at 225k miles on my 2008 ford Edge.Orange Crush New standard rotors and semi metalic pads. Brakes did grind and squeak in mornings first run. No towing No noticeable change in braking I changed the fronts and rears out at about 100k miles on my 2011 Lullebelle ( I do not expect to have to change them again until about 300K miles) New rotors are High Carbon Steel New pads are ceramic Rears have Low Frequency Noise dampers and they do work no noise. No noise at all. Full bled and changed out brake fluid. No towing Braking is firm and IMO improved.
  3. If it shudders changing gears on hills going up and down then also while stopping. Then your mileage is just about where the OSS transmission sensors start to fail. You will not get a code until they completely fail. Then you get a wrench, dashes across your ODO, low tire indicator and you loose over drive. If you are on the highway when it happens keep driving as it will continue to drive with slightly higher rpm. Once you stop you are pretty much done. Then you get to raid your piggy bank for about 800 dollars.
  4. As WWW stated you can clean the mechanical s, but the electronics tend to be the failure point. I cleaned mine but I do not have an electronic failure as it was just dirty. If you want to clean it just do this.
  5. Great day. Those Monroe maxlifts worked great. Popped up the hatch every time and very quickly. Nice to have a functioning rear hatch again.
  6. You can always go to another garage to get the diagnosis. If it turns out to be the TB the good news is you can repair it yourself in 15-20 minutes as it is almost as easy as changing your air filter. (not quite but very simple parts swap)
  7. Adult beverages, barley pops etc. Back at ya WWW enjoy the weekend. I am on right now because I gave up herding the cats (wife and girls) I will just wait until I hear the call signal they are finally ready. Got them to leave the kitchen sink behind so there is hope. LOL
  8. LOL a 2007. Not sure if you are stating sarcastic humor, but I replaced six on my 2008. Bearings fail
  9. Do you have any specs, performance documentation on this? Not really finding anything about comparisons from stock to the steeda.
  10. New rear shocks (KYB) and lift struts Two sets of Monroes for Lullubelle and BlueBerry have arrived. Will have to work on getting to the garage soon. For now it is time to finish the week and enjoy the long weekend.
  11. You could try this out. Low frequency damper can be added to the 08 edge with a new pin kit and the dampers. Your noise will and should disappear.
  12. I used the old turkey baster method and this was the only tool used to accomplish the flush of the power steering. You might want a funnel which I did not have, but shop towels are then a must have for the messy cleanup. We got it done and the results are visible and worth the time to do it yourself.
  13. Side note on future status of Lullubelle. Her days of hitting the road for high mileage runs may be limited. I will still have her, but my last meeting with the boss resulted in a discussion on driving mileage and how the company is looking into the costs/benefits of providing a vehicle to me to drive. Of course I will do my best to argue the case for a Ford Edge. Who knows? Maybe I will get a new 2016 Ford Edge?!!! I can always dream. As with all things this process will take a bit of time as the bean counters have to make bean soup before they come up with an answer. FYI. 60K miles x .57cents per mile = $34,200.00 in tax exemptions. Then mix in fuel costs averaging $600.00 monthly, Insurance, Title, Maintenance costs? There are multiple ways to depreciate the vehicle for tax purposes also. Basically at a per year rate. Either way once they do process the mathematical scenarios I will know one way or another.
  14. New Monroe Max Lift supports on the way for both Edge's. Also ordered new KYB G2 rear shocks for Lullubelle. Hopefully these monroe's work just as good as the last set I ordered.
  15. James, Like ya already. Might be due to the color of your edge. If you take care of it you may just surprise yourself and let 300K sneak up on you.
  16. Not sure how much this affects the rear brakes but make sure the little "nipples" on the pads are seated correctly into the caliper piston as this has to be done correctly in order for the caliper piston to adjust to the emergency brake system. The caliper pistons have slots for the brake pad "nipple" to seat into.
  17. You mentioned the E brake cable but is the spring and adjuster set all the way back to a resting position and not blocked or hanging up preventing it from releasing completely? There are a lot of mechanics going on in the rear caliper now that ford has integrated the e brake into the caliper on the rear brakes.
  18. Not only do the Strong Arms not lift but I actually have to push the hatch up almost fully to force them to start lifting. What makes it worst is that I feel the lift support resisting me trying to open the hatch. I unload and reload equipment out of my car multiple times a day and this is an issue.
  19. After multiple days with the Strong Arms I have decided that they are more than completely worthless. I am ordering the Monroes and switching them out. I will do a comparison video to demonstrate how worthless the Strong Arms are so buyer beware.
