  1. It is a Ford CS Rep. They are always on here.
  2. i have no clue where it is located but akirby is probably right. That is where you would typically find it, although my 2012 Edge seems to drip toward the center of the car near the B pillars. I think the water follows the plastic shields then drips out.
  3. There is a recall on 2015 Edge's not 2012. It's probably something like the sunroof drain. Condensate drain being blocked up. but that's easy to clear out with some Grass line trimmer line. All you do is find the drain hose and fish it through. to clear the clog. Its always better to clear it from the inside out, so that your pushing the junk outside. It could also be a windshield leak. Check to see if that has ever been replaced. If it has I would lean more toward the windshield.
  4. Im happy they are replaceing the motor on that roof. It has been loud since Ive owned it. I even posted a video here to ask what everyone thought. I've had two dealers look at it and told me that they are all loud. Im very happy my dealer decided that there was definately a problem. It sounded horrible and like it was under alot of stress.
  5. I have a tendency to be a little particular about things. So I need to keep my self in line. Thanks akirby
  6. I went to the dealer on Monday for issues with a loose lower drivers seat cover, leaky pinion seal on the PTU, and loud BAMR motor. Well they replaced the leather seat cover, and replaced the pinion seal (output shaft from PTU to rear diff.) and they ordered the Panoramic roof motor. Well the seat cover is installed and it the seat functions with no harm to the interior of the car with removal and installation of the whole seat. Only issue is with the little plastic cap on the side of the seat where the seat belt terminates into the side panel. They really did a number on the plastic and it has pry marks all over it. Is it wrong to ask for a replacement cover? The car only has 20k.
  7. I used the 3M spray on paint defender last winter. I would never use it on a large surface again. I turns white when it gets wet for long periods of time. I doesnt remove easily either. I had to let it turn white with rain moisture and power wash it off at the car wash. It seems to breakdown over time. It did a good job protecting the front end, but I will never do it again. I did install Husky headlight protectors and they are awesome. Perfectly clear and you absolutly can not tell they are installed. I might install the husky hood protector this fall because I'm so impressed.
  8. So my Edge's PTU started to leak at 20k. It's leaking at the rear output shaft. The fluid is black and super stinky. It's smooth and almost the consistency of WD40. Im assuming the oil has broken down and separated into a thin liquid and a heavy sludge from heat causing it to leak from the seals. Kinda bullshit considering that the Edge only has 20k. They are looking at it next week when they replace the defective leather seat. At least my local dealer is good to work with.
  9. That's pretty sucky. Hopefully it gets taken off soon because the longer its on the more it sets up.
  10. Is Bronze Fire the same as my Cinnamon Metallic? It looks the same. So I like it.
  11. I went to the dealer and they did a cleaning proceedure and it has been almost two weeks now and no problems yet. They did the cleaning without removing the door panel. .
  12. YES LAST WEEK!!! Well the right side was flickering and the colors and icons didnt match up with the selections. Then it straightend out after 15 minutes of driving.
  13. Ive had the dealer lube the tracks twice. In the year and a half Ive owned my Edge. The silicone spray they use just doesnt last. A few months back I cleaned the tracks out and used some lithium grease on the metal tracks along with Dielectrice grease on plastic and rubber areas. The reason I went this route is because the roof was getting stuck open. I plan on doing a couple cleanings and lube jobs each year to keep dirt out.
  14. On my 2004 Ford Escape I just disconnected my transmission line and put the hose in a one gallon bottle. Then I had my wife turn the engine on until I got 4 quarts then had her shut it off. Then replace the 4 quarts that pumped out with new. Then just keep repeating this process until you see clean fluid. Just replace exactly what you remove. I drove the car first for 15 minutes to warm everything up prior to the procedure. We also shifted through the gears each time. This is not a good idea if you have a lot of miles. I used to drop 4 quarts every 10k and I did the full flush when I hit 100,000.
  15. Illegal in MA so none here.
  16. unfortunatley they need to drive the cars to test for problems. That is why I never buy a "new" model in its first year. The second year is always better and more refined.
  17. yup 1st gen sport wheel from edge and mkx
  18. Probabbly Teflon. The problem with dry film is that it wears down fast on the aluminum tracks. Then you have the silicone(dielectric) or Lithium grease used on most sunroofs. Greases collect dirt over time but dont wear away as fast. So both require frequent cleaning and reapplication. Can't win.
  19. Awesome find. I bet that is a synthetic lube that they use. The only problem with the vista roof is the way the rear section of roof is exposed to the weather and rain water, sand and dirt get washed past the rubber seals and into the lubricant of the tracks. My thoughts are that it should be cleaned and lubed at least every 10,000 miles or at every oil change.
  20. Mine has been pretty consistent over the last few days.. I think I can duplicate the issue now. time to take to the dealer. BTW I have 18k on my 2012.
  21. Mine is doing the same thing. Today I had to close the door 8 times for it to realize that it was closed. The dealer said there was nothing they could do until they could see it happen. So I guess Ill have to wait until it is a permanent problem
