OK gen 1 features here ... 1-rain sensing wipers: rain on windshield, click, wipe. Done. 2-auto high beam: no problem, I drive with my high beams always on. Oncoming drivers flash, click, low beams. 3-adaptive cruise control: get too close, hit - del and slow down. Don't need a computer telling me how close to follow. I'm old, I leave 1/4 mile clearance just to be safe. Until some prick tries to get between me and the car ahead. Then it's war. 4-self parking: works ok inasmuch as I'm the self. In high school they taught us to parallel park on a hill. 5-Sync, can't remember the commands and syntax. Glad they used knobs and switches. Not a fan of display menus. Have to take eyes off road too much. 6-Adaptive headlights, love em 7-AdvanceTrec, good in winter, but extends stopping distance 8-heated/cooled seats, yes, yes, yes 9-autopilot advanced driver-assistance system, doesn't work very well in gen-1, constantly have to monitor and correct, makes it difficult to watch a movie on long trip. 10-automatic vehicle restructuring, you know, when the car's computers decide that your seat would be better if it automatically reset itself all the way forward, or how much fun it would be it the engine were set into limp mode and you can only drive at 20 mph, or it turns on the service engine soon light and invents a bigus code just to screw with the technician.

2nd on Cerberus suggestion about battery. I'd be willing to bet your battery is shot. Doubt the pizza bag is causing unless you run it when cat is off. (In 1st gen the power sockets are hot when car off. Rated at 15 amps. Heavy draw on battery can damage battery). When engine running, actuator should be able to compensate.

Check the ends of the battery cable grounds. Bet you're going to find one corroded, probably on the engine block.

Ford edge issues - Android screen not working
enigma-2 replied to FlexyG's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Whenever you change the OEM head unit to an aftermarket unit, there's always a possibility that the new unit will not connect with the Ford Sync. It's also possible that you need to purchase a special wiring harness or module, to activate the missing features. If the manufacturer indicated that their unit does work with Ford Sync, try contacting them to see if a special wiring harness is needed. If they didn't, it may not have been designed to work with those functions and you have no options other to live with it or put the OEM unit back in. -
What did you find? Cable broken or connection at the latch or plastic pull handle?
 -
	Try this (F150 but simular)

There may be one work around for this. Charge this backup when driving and then use it to charge phone when stopped at beach (or wherever). Cheap enough at least. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085NNMPK7/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_dl_R43DY7F63CNX126PFB50?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

				Changing destination while driving
enigma-2 replied to F4Gary's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Boink me: "destination 123 main street" sync: "say 1 for blain street, say 2 for crain street, say 3 for same street, say 4 for guppy avenue" me: "no main street" sync: guppy Avenue, is that correct?" me: "no" sync: "connecting you to emergency services" me: " no you !@#$%^ piece of +×÷=/. I said 123 main street" voice: this is 911 what is your emergency"? me: "no emergency. I'm trying to get my !@#$% car sync to program a destination" voice: please pull over an officer will be on scene in two minutes. Is anyone else injured?" me: you rotten !@#$%^ car. All I wanted you to do ....." officer: sir, put your hands up and exit the vehicle." sync: "heh, heh, heh" Thats why. (Or in sync speak, "that's wye"). -
Not possible to give an accurate estimate as there are too many variables involved. Location, color, engine, 2wd or awd, packages, remote start, adaptive cruise control, accessories, navigation, BAMR, HID headlights, towing pkg, wheels, tire size, glass damage, fender benders, scratches, tire tread amount, type of maintenence given, aftermarket parts junk, modifications, etc. With defective moon roof, price would probably be rated as "fair, major mechanical work required". Locally, I'm seeing private party prices running from $9,878 to $12,625. (Avg is $11,252). Yours is high milage so lower end. (Local avg is 103,907). But there are many variables and you need to get the car priced locally with its exact options and physical conditions. Expect the broken roof to cause sales problems as very expensive to repair.

Adding Blind Spot Warning to 2018 AWD Titanium ?
enigma-2 replied to sdarcy57's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Highly unlikely your car has blind spot wiring. It's a factory mod only (not dealer installed). As for aftermarket, Amazon has gobs of blind spot aftermarket systems. Do a search for "blindspot detection". I have passive blindspot detection on my 2009 MKX. Works great, but you do have to check it periodically. -
Discontinued. Remaining balance passed along to outside agency for payout. ☹ Great while it lasted. Allowed no interest for 6 months or 12 months (depending on how much was charged). Always nice to use OPM.

I'd avoid the use of any credit card for a down payment as the interest rate is a killer (unless you pay it off 100% at the first payment, in which case you don't need a credit card in the first place). Check with your bank and see what they'll offer. In the past I just wrote a check against my home improvement loan. High interest but lower than credit card. Or like 1004ron suggested. Get a credit card with 2% back and then at the first payment, write a check against your home improvement loan to pay off the credit card. You'll collect the 2% rebate and drop the interest rate by ~10%. ??

RDS system does not seem to work
enigma-2 replied to edgemaster's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Thought of another idea (probably worthless but ..... hey). Next time you're at some distance from home, (at the mall, work, store) try setting your home location in. See if setting the home location when you're not at home, changes anything.
