  1. https://myaccount.carandtruckremotes.com/cyc/search/searchv1.php?searchyear=2018&searchmake=Ford&searchmodel=Edge I have gotten two remotes from this sight. One for an SEL and one for an ST. Programmed both following the owners manual. Have had absolutely no issues at all. Not sure who you used or how much you paid, but the listed products were well worth it.
  2. Did all of the attaching hardware come with it and was it just a direct snap in procedure ? And do you have the part number handy ?

    Seats heating

I find they get hot also, but i usually turn them off after they take off the chill.
  4. I did mine a couple weeks ago. The "B" part made in the USA has two FIAMM AM80SX horns. One marked "H"igh and the other "L"ow. I was able to look up the specs on the FIAMM sight. Do you know what the markings are on the "A" part (Level 3) ?
  5. That's what I thought. The original battery on my 2015 SEL died a few weeks shy of 3 years. Just under the wire to get it covered by the warranty.
  6. It seems the problem is the Service Department's shortcut. I have changed the oil on my 2015 3.5 SEL and have dropped the entire splash shield. I believe it is about 6 bolts and a plastic clip or two. It does add a few more minutes to remove and replace the shield, but I do it properly. I did notice that at least one of the bolts no longer has a tight fit inside the plastic grommet (probably why your guy just used a larger bolt), but since I didn't bend mine down it stays in place. Did you ever get a reply from Ford?
  7. I assume it is like the rear window defroster. It runs for a predetermined amount of time and then it shuts off. If you still need defrost, you manually turn it on for another cycle. When mine came on with the recent cold, I had to manually turn it off sooner than its cycle because I thought the steering wheel was getting too hot. There was a thread on here explaining how to change the heat settings with ForScan and one of the statements was about how the higher the set temperature the quicker the heating element would burn out. I don't think it is meant to run continuously, but someone with better knowledge may be along soon.
  8. Some things you can actually see, such as the battery. It is obviously a larger capacity battery. But the starter, starter solenoid, alternator/generator not so sure. And I am sure Ford doesn't want to be replacing starters at an astronomical rate on vehicles with auto start/stop, but I still think there has to be more overall wear on a starter that may activate 25-30 times a day as compared to twice a day. Maybe it is because of my age and experience with older cars. You knew that starter or alternator had a certain lifespan and that was it. Come to think of it, I haven't replaced a starter since an '85 Dodge Diplomat.
  9. Any update to this? First time I will have to take care of leather seats and I am wondering what everyone uses.
  10. I bought mine in the early Fall so I haven't had any sustained extreme temperature conditions to judge the climate performance. What I did observe was a non factor. The startup is slightly more noticeable than other brand vehicles that I have driven with auto start. An Escape I rented in Los Angles I had no problem leaving engaged. I don't mind the engine shutting off for a minute or more, but every block for 5-8 seconds sometimes is annoying. And you can't tell me that there isn't more wear and tear on the components utilized to constantly restart. I do try to leave it engaged as much as I can, But I am glad we have to option to disable it.
  11. I hate when I am pulling up to a red light and I can see from the countdown pedestrian timer that I will only have the light for a second or two and then the engine shuts off, only to have to immediately start two seconds later. I find myself quickly shutting off the auto-start when I see this scenario.
  12. My 2015 Edge's OEM battery died a couple weeks short of 3 years. My 2004 Crown Vic's batteries would last almost 6 years. Sounds like you have some sort of issue with the vehicle that is affecting the battery.
  13. Do you know what your vehicle's build date is?
  14. Are you able to take that ST for a test drive?
  15. Bought my 2019 in September 2019. Built August 2019. It has the Trans issues, but I haven't had a chance to get back to the dealer yet. Only have 1,000 miles on it and waiting to see what else the dealer has to address. Other than that, I am happy with it.
  16. As long as you have two programmed fobs, you can program a third one yourself. I would look at places like https://www.carandtruckremotes.com/ to buy a third fob. Much cheaper than the dealer. I bought from them and had no issues at all.
  17. Since an old thread was resurrected, I was just wondering how exactly ThugFordEdge3.5 knew that the dealership used tap water during his repair?
  18. Yours is showing the Gold is required. I know you can still get it from Ford, because I still use it in a 2004 Crown Vic. I would assume that you could switch to another flavor, as long as it is flushed well and make sure you continue to use the same type. Ironically I bought extra of the Motorcraft Orange Coolant for my 2015 and now my new 2019 ST was filled with the Yellow and there was an addition to the owners manual noting the change. Quick video on the different colors:
  19. The entire grill was not removed. Removing the driver side headlight assembly should be the same on other 2015 to 2019 Edge models.
  20. Did anybody do this in 2019? I just got a letter from Ford regarding the ST SUV Experience held in Utah, but the registration for 2020 is not open yet.
  21. Because mashing the brakes at the bottom of a hill to reduce or stop its acceleration, is not the best way to keep the vehicle under control. But I'll let you guys get back to your debate.
  22. Exactly why is this recommended?
  23. If you use OEM Style Blades, they are two different part numbers. Same length, but the aerodynamic edge has to face front. I wasn't crazy about the "center out" either, but you get used to it.
