  1. I replaced the front pads & rotors & have yet to experience the issue. I had it a handful of times prior to the swap. My reasoning for changing them was the incredibly high amounts of brake dust accumulating on the wheels in all 4 corners. Currently have about 1,000 miles (maybe more) & haven't had the issue. I also just changed the rear pads only as i didn't feel changing the rotors was worth it. Centric Premium Rotors 12561118 & StopTech Z231818 for the fronts & Centric Posi-Quiet pads 105.16650 for the rear. Granted, spending money on this is not ideal, but i have much better stopping power & even more importantly, far less brake dust.
  2. Get yourself some fluid film. Should prevent it from spreading more http://www.fluid-film.com/automotive-applications/ I've been using it for years to prevent rust. The stuff works wonders. My work vehicles gets sprayed once a year & there's very little signs of rust, most likely developed prior to applying Fluid Film. Every time i work on any of our vehicles, i apply fluid film. Kinda like preventative maintenance. Here's a video that i really like that shows exactly what fluid film can do:
  3. Centric Posi-Quiet pads part #10516650 were installed tonight on the rears. Less than $35 shipped for the pads. Didn't change the rotors, so hopefully won't have any issues later on.

  5. If it's a dry flow air filter, why does it come pre oiled from the factory? I don't have any experience with dry flow air filters. This one looks like a k&n: Pro 5R Factory-Oiled Media for Maximum Performance
  6. So, you're upset that there's a boost leak at 118,000 miles & 2 mechanics can't pinpoint the problem? I can understand a little frustration, but at 118,000, there's going to be things needing to be replaced, regardless of how meticulous you've kept the vehicle maintained. It probably would be cheaper to repair your current edge than to buy a new vehicle, but i can also understand not wanting potential future problems too. Even new vehicles have bugs that need to be worked out, double edged sword i guess
  7. Actually, no grabbiness to be had. The pads have performed as good if not better than the oems. There was the occasional grabbiness with all OEM stuff. In 6 days of driving, the wife hasn't said anything about grabbing. The handful of times I've driven it, it seems to brake like a normal vehicle. The Centric Rotors were delivered today & promptly installed this evening. Cleaned everything up with brake cleaner & bedded the pads. We'll see in the coming weeks if braking has 'improved', but so far, we have far less brake dust
  8. Centric Rotor part #12561118 are the correct part # for the Fronts on A NON SPORT, not that it helps you any....
  9. Working on my Centric Rotor at the moment & to see if they're the correct size
  10. A boost leak is different than turbo failure/engine failure, it could be from many different things such as a bad Bypass Valve, or dry rotted line or coupler. Did you receive any other information than just a boost leak?
  11. I want to say that i read somewhere that the 'RXP' Catch Cans, (There are several), catch over 90% of all blow by. I'm trying to find the article/video, but can't at the moment.
  12. Well, the OP is a sport, 2.7L, I'm a 2.0L. I'm interested in how much he catches & how bad blow by is on the 2.7.
  13. Congrats! How long has it been installed? It took mine about 3-4 weeks to catch enough to drain, (had a few drops come out prior). We also don't drive a lot, so your collection time may be shorter. My throttle body, intake manifold, intake valves thank me. I already had oil accumulation in the intake & throttle body with 12,000 miles. I 'believe' that i was the first 2.0 Edge to do this & post up installation pics & what not, glad to see others following suit! Here's my 2.0 Ecoboost FWD installation & few follow ups: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/22063-oil-catch-can-on-the-20l-ecoboost/page-2
  14. I usually change the oil around 50% oil life. With Direct Injection, your oil gets diluted with fuel. A catch can will help by catching blow by, but there's not really much you can do to prevent oil dilution. If someone wanted to do research like Macbwt & have their oil tested at certain hours, that would be awesome. Changing your oil early, doesn't really have any bad effects, except your on your wallet. I'm currently slightly over 5,000 since i last changed the oil, but we're getting ready to take another trip, so I'll be changing it out in the next week or so before the trip. My Oil Life Monitor is currently around 62%. Our little road trip helped extend the life than the 'normal' conditions we drive
  15. Rotors arrived today, unfortunately, they're too big, even though it says for 18 inch wheels. I quickly ordered Centric 12561118 rotors, they were slightly cheaper than the other ones. Called a few friends & they said that it shouldn't be an issue to use the new pads on the old, factory rotors. I'm obviously going swap them out whenever the replacement rotors get here & re preform the pad bedding procedure. I will advise that the 16 Edge's (non sport) use an 11mm / 7/16 Hex head to get the calipers off. I also found that to get the little metal retainer out is to push in on the little indent & push it towards the top of the caliper & it should pop right off. I know this is a highly active topic, so I'll keep this post updated, lol
  16. To my Knowledge, AEM doesn't make one for the 2015+ yet. I've been looking. I don't know if the air box is different on the older 2.0's
  17. Same here, been trying for weeks & still no luck on confirming the update. Just checked Ford Owners Website & it must have confirmed it on the wifi:
  18. Welp, ordered the Powerstop Z231818 pads & Centric Rotors. Pads arrived today, they look to be the correct ones. Waiting for the Rotors to arrive. They should be here Friday. The fronts don't appear to have those stupid rotor retainer screws in them,so here's to a clean install Friday night
  19. Sheesh, both can be changed in your edge in under 10-15 minutes. That mark up is crazy
  20. Might be. It's been a few months since i replaced mine & can't remember exactly
  21. Search this thread. The tips & tricks are in this thread somewhere. Automotive trim panel tools can be had for under $20 on Amazon. You'd be surprised at all of their other uses.
  22. Pic might be helpful. I replaced mine a few months ago & it had like a 'felt' side that acted like a 'pre' filter before getting to the filter.
  23. The Cquartz Dlux stuff seems to help with cleaning, if the wheels can be hit with a power washer, but the parts not hit with the power washer, need to be cleaned. Better, but not ideal. Seeing how Centric now makes rotors now, I'll probably swap them out as well. I think that I'm going with Centric Rotors (12561118) for the fronts & Powerstop pads (Z231818) for the fronts as well. Thoughts? Centric also makes a pad (10516650). Any have any experience with them? Looking for the same, if not better, than OEM EDIT: 12561118 Is the correct part # for a non Sport Edge. 12561120 'appears' to be for a Edge Sport(Didn't know anybody around to confirm). IF YOU ARE NOT A SPORT, ORDER CENTRIC PART# 12561118
  24. Interested in what you found for a 2016 non sport. I can't find pads or rotors anywhere. I've mainly stuck with brands I'm familiar with like powerstop, centric, hawk, etc. EDIT: Just re looked up everything again & they appear to be making rotors for the '16 non sports now. Couldn't find anything a few months ago
