That's unfortunate they are being like that. I actually don't like ford personally honestly, but we bought our first edge used from our local ford dealership because it fit our budget and needs. We bought our ST because of how they looked after problems we had with the first one and they've been consistent with this one. By far the best dealership I've dealt with otherwise I would have seriously considered other options.

This is ignoring an earlier post I made stating I see a drop of around 400 rpms, so is not normal. I'm not able to make a video with no way yo mount a camera or phone and I'm not willing to risk holding my phone with our $500 fine and instant loss of license for distracted driving. So sorry I'm of no more help to you.

Pretty much. I can't figure out why they decided to do 2nd and 3rd so close other than maybe towing. Even then though they could have opened it up another .2 or .3 and it would have been fine I'm sure. Heh maybe it was to save space inside the transmission and/or they use 2nd or 3rd with a reduction gear in order make one of the overdrive gears, since transmissions don't truly have 8-10 individual gears internally.

The factor you are missing is the increased torque/power that you are getting from the previous gear. There is a reason why cars are dyno'd as close to 1:1 as possible. Gears multiply torque so shifting before 5k can actually hurt because shifting into a higher gear puts you into less power because of the higher gear multiplier than you are losing in the higher rpm. Same with hp since (torque*speed)/5252=hp. Using Livernois's dyno'd wheel results at 3200 rpm, 4000rpm(peak hp) and 5500 rpm 1 1,613torque 983hp 1501torque 1143hp 838torque 878hp 2 1134torque 691hp 1055torque 804hp 589torque 617hp 3 1033torque 630hp 962torque 732hp 537torque 562hp 4 662torque 403hp 616torque 470hp 344torque 360hp 5 544torque 331hp 472torque 360hp 263torque 276hp 6 360torque 217hp 335torque 256hp 187torque 195hp 7 266torque 162hp 248torque 189hp 138torque 145hp 8 223torque 136hp 208torque 158hp 116torque 121hp You can see that there isn't a gear worth shifting early in and that 2 to 3 being as small as it is can still benefit.

What's even more confusing is in Canada our window sticker mpg is in imperial but our dashes calculate in US mpg.

I didn't try it accelerating hard but just playing with the paddle shifters in drive I get no harsh shift or anything, rpms drop roughly 400 rpms, which looks to be expected going by the gear ratios. It stays in 3rd with no issues. Streets are full of ice and snow so I can't copy exactly what you do. Not sure what to tell you other than are you sure your dealer dowloaded the latest tsb flash and isn't using just the last one he downloaded? As the one I had applied from the latest tsb was a huge improvement and even paddle shifts in drive seem quite quick and

Fuel consumption - L/100Km or the equivalent MPG
Perblue replied to Edgingage's topic in 2011 Edge & MKX
My 2013 3.5l awd with 160k kms on it achieved 12-14mpg in city no where close to the 18 it was rated for, but it did better than rated on the highway so knew it was driving/conditions and not a problem with the car.- 10 replies

I'm in Canada. 60,000*1.3=78k According to articles though it'll be 82,995. https://mobilesyrup.com/2019/11/17/electric-mustang-50495-cost-canada-suv-ford/

That's only for the 80k version. I really like the look. I think most complaining about the looks is because of the mustang badge label on it. I just wish it had more range.

2018 titanium edge rear seats
Perblue replied to Gardenman's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Not perfectly flat, there will be some slope to them. -
You are going to have to go see a dealer. Sounds like Mykey is enabled on the key you have. See pages 115 and 116 https://cdn.dealereprocess.net/cdn/servicemanuals/ford/2011-edge.pdf

Hate to say this but while taking my kid out last night it clunked a couple times. Maybe it's learning and it is way better in every way but don't be surprised if it still happens on occasion.

24 hour update So far so good. It hasn't slammed into reverse or drive once, which is the longest it hasn't done it. There is also no noticeable delay going into those gears. I'm curious about others results too though because it seems and feels like they played around with more than just that. It could be my imagination but my family noticed it too. It seems snappier. Shifts seem better. It seems more willing to downshift and accelerating feels stronger.

Ok this is just my opinion. Pic 1 and 2 might bother me considering it's painted and hasn't seen 6 months of road abuse or so to start beating up the paint. Pics 3 and 4 the rust is on the bolts where raw metal gets exposed during assembly and is expected. Inside the rotors is normal for steel rotors and can form within weeks of new ones being put on. Pic 4 that is quite normal. It isn't cracking, its minor imperfections from the molding process and can be found on almost any tire in my experience and knowledge.

I'm booked in for tomorrow morning at 9.

I challenge you to find the second set of injectors on a ST for port injection....they aren't there because we still have the first gen.
-
Not exactly the same as actual pics. If you do some googling you can find examples, however none of the new colors are available on the ST, which is kind of disappointing.

Also when you refilled it did you just fill up until the rad was full or did you make sure the system was bled?

2015 Edge Sport 21" Wheels - Keep 'em or get smaller?
Perblue replied to johnraz's topic in Wheels & Tires
Going through tirerack you can get set with sensors for under 1500 plus shipping depending on where you live, with a set of blizzaks so there are cheaper options on their site too. -
2015 Edge Sport 21" Wheels - Keep 'em or get smaller?
Perblue replied to johnraz's topic in Wheels & Tires
A 19' rim is a poor choice as it's not a common factory rim size so will give you limited options. You are better off with 20 or 18 inch if you want options. The added safety of a winter grip in cold weather is worth it even if it's only a few months out of the year. You could likely, I know I can, get aftermarket 18" rims and 18' winter grips cheaper than buying a new set for the 21s and run the 21s for another summer or 2. -
If this is what you are trying to fix stop wasting your time. There is currently a note from ford on oasis that it's a known issue, most of us suffer from it, and they are working on a fix. The last flash was only to fix shifting while driving not going from park to reverse or drive, etc.

Changing 2019 Edge's weak single horn to dual horn
Perblue replied to 9mmbullitt's topic in Accessories & Modifications
I actually do and regularly drive around Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Calgary and Edmonton. I've been in cities where people think their horns are toys, it becomes meaningless because they are honked so often no one even looks when one is honked. It's called defensive driving, pay attention to your surroundings for other peoples screw ups and ignorance. Once you are used to it, its easy and you can still have fun driving.
