  1. You're worried about keeping a vehicle that you are going to spend 3 grand fixing a problem that took 5 years to happen, with only 60,000 miles on the rest of the drive train and will more than likely take another 5 years or a lot more to happen again? What would you replace it with? Something new? You'll see that in depreciation the moment you drive it off the lot, probably close to that on an equivalent used vehicle from a dealer also. 2015 was the first year of the redesign of that engine so not a surprise there is some sort of recall there, granted even previous years could use the same flex plate and it could have been a supplier issue that affected certain number that year. Anyways that engine has been used in hundreds of thousands of vehicles and has proven to be very reliable. Fix it and drive it. If you want extra piece of mind have an inspection done on it and get the Ford premium care coverage on it. Unless there are other reasons you want to get rid of it, then see what they will give you for trade in without fixing it. Maybe ask "out of curiosity" what's it worth when fixed, then ask them about if it's not fixed. You might get a better break and have less than a 3 grand difference that they may or may not make up for when you try negotiating on the price of your new vehicle. That's my opinion anyways.
  2. Not that I'm aware of. Your increased mpg is likely caused by either the wind on the vehicle being different or your way back is more downhill, even if you don't notice it.
  3. This was my initial thought but wasn't sure how well it applied to an ohc motor.
  4. They can if they chose to, it comes factory on a bullitt mustang. Granted it is a different market but it shows they can if they chose to and wouldn't have seemed out of place on ST models.
  5. If you read the fine print on the dyno graph they also did a custom catback, which they don't specify what they did, that the stock pull didn't have. So it's possible they seen the gains they did but it wasn't just because of the intake.
  6. My 3.5L never sounded like that. Unfortunately in an overhead cam engine I'm not sure what would sound like that other than low oil.
  7. No idea but on a 20 hour drive my gauge said 32mpg. My receipts and mileage tracking calculated 38mpg. You can think I'm wrong but that's how mine is. Mine is an early model 2019, maybe they fixed it on later ones. Just realized your in Europe/UK also, I'm in Canada totally different market so that's a difference too and more likely to be set appropriately since most made for the North American market head to the US. Made me do a double take with the mileage you showed. That diesel really gets good mileage.
  8. Try tracking your mileage, I bet it comes out closer to US mpg when compared to the gauges. They just don't specify that it is in US on the setting. One day I will correct it.
  9. Don't know how good they are. 2" Modular LED Light | Extreme Stackerz 2" Modular LED Light Kits (extremeledlightbars.com)
  10. How's your tire pressure? If one tire is drastically different it can trigger it.
  11. Our window stickers show both since a lot are used to mpg still and you can set either on the gauges. You would just think if they advertise the Canadian mpg that's what the gauges would use, but nope.
  12. I just had mine replaced yesterday on warranty. It kept saying low charge on battery even after 2 5 hour trips the past week and a half. Also yesterday as soon as I parked it and got inside I received a message that it went into deep sleep. So took it in and sure enough the battery failed testing. After replacement the locks work and it no longer is smelling like it's running rich. So I guess if you aren't leaving your edge parked for extended periods of time and all but the driver's door doesn't work it's likely your battery is dieing.
  13. Tire shops are legally required to do the vehicles recommended torque specs, at least they are in canada.
  14. The torque is supposed to be determined by the size of the wheel studs, look up how much you have to torque down the large single stud type rims you can get on porsches, it's up to 443ft/lbs. If insurance found out you under torqued you lug nuts they could deny coverage. The wheel should not dictate what the torque spec is, if they can't take the factory torque spec they are the wrong rims for the vehicle, plain and simple. Also if the rim can't take 162 ft/lbs its a crap rim and going to bend or break the moment you hit a pot hole. This maybe a newish standard but this model edge isn't the first to require this torque the f150s do too.
  15. Depending on how cold, cold is where you are. It's -30C here so the transmission fluid is super thick and not moving around well so the transmission will shift slower. You could also be low on transmission fluid or the transmission could be worn and have said issues showing when cold.
  16. Kind of hard to clean something if the cleaner/solvent doesn't touch the dirty area. This would be like saying I walked past the hand sanitizer or the soap so my hands are clean.
  17. Pics? However I'm betting what you are talking about should be happening. That gen has a shutter that comes down for low beam and high beam opens the shutter.
  18. In cheap aftermarket leds yes, for factory to factory lighting comparison I like my leds better but hids at same color temp seems to be a matter of preference and seen it debated on many forums. I will be surprised if the new ones don't fix the issue unless your headlights are also fogged also then you need to polish them up.
  19. Have you ever replaced them? HID and halogen bulbs do dim over time and 9 years are very old.
  20. I can't tell you if they will rub but a narrower tire is more beneficial in winter. The smaller contact patch increases grip on ice due to more weight per area, also it helps prevent floating on top of any deeper snow.
  21. You would be far better off with winter grips.
  22. Yeah I was comparing photos and it looks so different and looks like the layout for the bump stops, hood latch and left and right edges are different. If it was just the contours I'd be tempted to give it a try. Maybe looks are deceiving but just looks too different. Amazing work though and carbon fiber one is just
  23. Wish this would fit my ST.
  24. Second this. People up here put cardboard in font of their grilles for 2 reasons, it traps the heat generated by the motor in the engine bay causing it to warm up faster and so the rad cools less for more cabin heat. It makes a difference and they do close during warm up in the driveway for this purpose. I'd bet stuck thermostat.
