Sorry to hear of your problem, hopem it gets resolved soon. Don't feel bad, a buddy of mine had trans problems with a Lexus RX350 that was only a few months old. Hopfully, your's is just spme kind of sensor problem, whatever it be, it will get fixed, and the last of your problems.

What did you claim it under, comprehensive? How did you file the claim (how didn it happen?). Thanks, Joe

Paddle shift activation are paddles on the steering wheel to manually control shifts. I thought about a Edge Sport, then checked out the MKX, and wound up getting the MKX (2012) last November. I've been very happy with it, and like the Sport, it has the 3.7 engine. Probably the nices features the MKX has is heated and cooled front seats, and heated rear seats. I also like the power tilt/telescopic steering wheel. Shut the car off, the drivers set goes back, and the steering wheel goes up and in, to allow easier exit out of the vehicle. Start the car back up, and the seats and wheel return to your preset. The "X" also has a higher grade leather on the seats, and other interior surfaces. Also has a few other features not available with the Edge. Either one is a great choice, depends if you want to spend the extra bucks on the MKX.

New member, potential owner, considering my options.

Congrat's on yur purchase, I'm sure that you will love it. WeatherTechs's are a great idea, but you might want to try a can of the carpet spray, I don't think that I paid more than 7-8 bucks. If you access to a steam machine, steam gets out lots of stains. Enjoy your new ride, and keep us posted on it. Joe -

The blue iws my favorite, and a year newer. I would have them try and get the mustard stain out. If not, you can get fabric/carpet spray paint and try and cover it over............the shit works. Yesterday, my wife went for chlorine for the pool, forgot to put old towels in her trunk, and "bleached out" the custom plush carpeted trunk mat in her MKS. The containers must have had chlorine on the bottoms. Went to Pep Boys auto store, got the spray in dark charcoal, and it worked wonders. Almost a perfect match, and saved us from divorce court. -
Garage Door Opener - Homelink
JOEHIO replied to OnlySkillz's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
I had problems with homelink when I got my MKX, called the help number that was in the manual, and the person walked me through the procedure, and all went well. They asked what kind and model opener I had. -
I had this problem when I had my '06 Explorer. The dealer said it was because some CD disc's are a "hair" thicker than others. What I had to do when a disc would not eject, is when you hit eject, and it appears that the disc is trying to come out, was to take another disc, and insert it slightly in the slot, towards the bottom of the opening, to help guide the "stuck" CD to eject. It worked every time. With some CD's, I had no problem, and others would give me the same problem that you are describing. Hope this works for you. Joe

8 Month Old Ford Edge Sport Paint Bubbling - Do We Need to Sue Ford ?
JOEHIO replied to JFUSION's topic in Owner Impressions
Way back in 1993, I had a Taurus SHO (black), that 2 months old, the paint started to blister all over the car. Went to the dealer, they sent it out to a body shop they use, and the place had the car for 3 weeks. Paint was stripped down chemically washed, reprimed, and a pain t job done that was superior to the original that was on the car. If your sisters dealer doesn't cooperate, try contacting a zone manager, if you have them in Canada, and have the car inspected. -
Thanks for the post, wlepse Will have to check it one is available for a MKX.

In the past, I've gone with new pads, and rotors turned, never had calipers replaced. This was on a 1995 Explorer that I kept for 7 years/149,000 miles. Never had dealer service dept put on new calipers.
-
I would take it back to the dealer, have them fix it, should not happen.

The other day I saw a SUV/CUV that had an aluminum protector on it, and it looked pretty nice. I think that it was a Porsche, don't remember. Will have to do some investigating, will try and get a match. Wish that Ford/Lincoln had a option like this.

Windshield rubber strip question
JOEHIO replied to edgemaster's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Is it on one side or both? If one side, try and check the other side to see if you an match it up. I would not pull it out, must be there for a reason. -
Can you set Display to default to Nav upon start up?
JOEHIO replied to Joe Hardin's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Don't know 100%, but I think that you cannot change the default from 4 square, and when you shut the car off, and restart, it goes back to 4 square, not the previous screen. -

How to protect 20" Chrome wheels in the Winter?
JOEHIO replied to OnlySkillz's topic in Wheels & Tires
All that I ever do, is when I wax the cars, I also do the wheels. Prior to my '12 MKX, I had a '06 Explorer for 6 years, that it too, had chrome wheels. The "chrome wheels" on Ford products, and many others, is actually a chromed plastic, and it WILL NOT rust ! -
The only washer fluid that is in there is what came in the car when new, as I really didn't user the washers (front or rear) but only a couple of times in the 6+ months I've had it.
-
Oh god, how I wished that they would have had this colour when I got my '12 MKX. I really like my Ingot Silver, but this colour would be so much "hotter". My wifes MKS is cinnamon colour, really sharp, and you don't see that much of it.

Welcome to the forum, enjoy your new Edge, and THANK GOD, you are okay. Like I always say, "cars can be replaced, lives can't". Let us know how you are liking your Edge. Joe

I'll try running it for 10-15 seconds next time it needs a washing, and I wish that I went by an exotic model !
