  1. Actually the computer knows better. It takes into account how the engine is driven (rpm, temp, etc.). Its called Intelligent Oil Life Monitoring. And don't forget the factory oil is a synthetic blend. 10K miles should not be a problem.
  2. I'm not going to debate the difference between your purely anecdotal experience and scientific testing. If you're happy just let it go.
  3. Sorry but you said it as if you thought I was a Ford schill giving you false information. I own a 2.0L Ecoboost engine - in a 2013 Ford Fusion so that qualifies me as an owner of an ecoboost engine. Between this forum, the Fusion forum and blueovalforums - all Ford related - there have been no more reports of premature engine failure on ecoboost engines than any other engine. An Edge member here has over 300K miles on his 3.5L engine. Ford's 150K mile durability testing has been proven in real life. If you don't want to believe it then that's fine.
  4. Different power ratings due to octane and/or different peak power rpm are not paper differences, they're real. Having more torque at higher RPM generates more HP and using higher octane allows for more advanced engine timing which also provides more real power.
  5. I don't work for Ford. Do a search here for engine failure or turbo problems or google it. The 3.5L ecoboost has been out for 5-6 years. There simply aren't any significant number of engine failures out there. And don't ask for advice if you're going to question the honesty of responders.
  6. Both are tested to the same durability standards and there have been no reports of premature failures on any of the ecoboost engines.
  7. The engine won't matter - both should be fine. The 2007-2008 models have rusting fuel tanks. They've been recalled and will be replaced but it may take several months. A 2009-2012 model will be safer but I would still have the fuel tank checked for rust. The PTU for AWD models can leak but the newer models seem to only have that problem occasionally. MyFordTouch with the latest software is very stable unless you have bad hardware - check it and if it's sluggish or has problems check the version. I think 3.6 is the latest.
  8. Did you by chance get it at Dunn Benson Ford? That's the only reference I could find and they also use the MP designation on a Durango, so I'd guess it stands for Multi-Purpose (utility) vehicle.
  9. If it does that then it certainly isn't mentioned in any of the user guides. That would be a nice feature,
  10. Only if a teaspoon of chocolate was mixed with a few pounds of caramel.......
  11. Testing has shown those are airbrushed and nobody wants to see that. Said no guy EVER!!!!
  12. I don't see any such option. Entune is an app that works similar to MFT and sync services using a data connection to look things up but there is no option to update the on board map and poi system that I can find.
  13. Can't help being anal about misinformation. I sincerely apologize for bombarding you with facts.
  14. You're welcome! Glad to hear there is a TSB for this.
  15. Cost, differentiation from MKX, supplier capacity........ probably the first 2.
  16. So you're not using Motorcraft 5W-20 synthetic blend?
  17. Before posting use the search function at the upper right (select Forums instead of This Topic). There are a lot of topics related to battery drains and strange electrical problems.
  18. Can you confirm oil/filter and oil change intervals? I want to document this for all the naysayers.
  19. You can't use other people's mpg to compare to yours. You'd have to compare you driving your edge at the same temps the same way with both the old and new filters. That's how scientific test are performed. If you think you're getting 1-2 mpg then just be happy with it and move on.
  20. 285/45 is way too big - might fill up the wheel wells and may or may not rub but your speedo and odo will be off significantly unless you have it recalibrated. F150 and Edge are completely different vehicles - you shouldn't consider F150 wheels/tires in relation to Edge.
  21. Absolutely. Moisture could be completing an almost short circuit causing the battery drain.
  22. If it says late availability it will be out before the 2016 models. My guess would be 2-3 months but it could be sooner.
  23. They are being built now - could start shipping tomorrow or next week or the week after. Doubt it would be more than another month. Job 2 could be a month later or 8 months later. If you really want the heated wheel wait a couple of months and see what happens.
