  1. Under the steering wheel near the fuse panel IIRC.
  2. Big difference? Significantly reduce wear? Based on what facts?
  3. Typical tactic. Some dealers do the same thing with window etching, undercoating, etc. They try to bully you into buying it because it's already installed.
  4. That is a dealer installed unit. Unless you know the mfr and model number I'm not sure anyone can help.
  5. I'll ping him via email.
  6. Theoretically - yes. But Ford hasn't even been able to test it yet.
  7. It was NINE threads and the answer is NO it was NOT NECESSARY! James - I deleted the posts in the other 8 threads. PLEASE keep questions to one topic.
  8. I don't know of any directional tires used by Ford as OEM tires. If they are directional it will be CLEARLY marked on the tire.
  9. Don't buy rotors for performance - you won't get any noticeable benefit unless you're racing. Get regular rotors or slotted if you prefer the looks but it's strictly for looks. Pads can help a little but honestly it's more about less brake dust than absolute performance. To get real braking upgrades you need bigger rotors AND calipers.
  10. I don't like turning rotors - it makes them more susceptible to warping. And you have to get a shop to turn the rotors whereas you can replace them yourself.
  11. Yeah but you have a doctor's note.....
  12. It's not a massive job - only takes a few minutes. Don't sweat it.
  13. For some stupid reason I thought the OP was talking about interference with the stereo system. It is resonance and it happens with almost every new car today because they're made much more airtight than ever before. It's like blowing on the end of a bottle - there isn't any where for the air to escape. All you have to do is crack another window and it should go away.
  14. I have to agree. If you can operate any smart phone or tablet then MFT operation is easy. The bugs are real but not everyone has the serious ones.
  15. Dealers don't sell map updates now anyway and haven't for years. The updates come from the map providers (Navteq, etc.).
  16. The entire time the windows or down or only while they're being lowered?
  17. I don't think there is any appreciable difference until you get to very cold temps.
  18. As long as it's a 5W20 oil that meets the Ford spec you can use whatever you want. I don't think the Amsoil 5W20 matches the spec but you'd have to check to be sure.
  19. You probably looked at the passenger door that doesn't have one and just never noticed it on the driver's door.
  20. You buy them at the same time from the same place. I think you're in way over your head here and should get someone to do it for you.
  21. Scuff the surface before applying the adhesion promoter, then follow the directions on the paint cans. primer, basecoat, and 2 or 3 clearcoats.
  22. Call Microsoft support and ask them technical details about some piece of software that was on their download website and see what kind of answer you get. It's just not something the folks taking calls know (or should know IMO). Although what they should be able to tell you is what to do if you downloaded the old version before it was pulled and it sounds like they did - go see the dealer to force a reflash to make sure you've got the latest version.
  23. It can be done if you use good quality spray paint with base coat and clear coat and wetsand it. I painted the aftermarket keyless entry surround to match my daughter's Ingot Silver Focus and it turned out great using spray paint from paintscratch.com. Of course then she totalled it and the new one is dark grey so I had to remove all of the paint and make the plastic shiny again so it matched the new color. I think you may have to do more to the chrome than just scuff it to get the paint to bond properly but the paint itself shouldn't be a problem.
