  1. My sympathies. Can't say I am surprised at your conclusion! I think I will get the OEMs from Ford next time though, just for grins.
  2. Something like Goo Gone or 3M Adhesive Remover should work well. I'd say try acetone/nail polish remover first, if you wanted to, always using a test spot
  3. Unless you install the drivebright lights first
  4. Where did you get the actuators from? A known Ford dealer or a non-Ford source? Can you list part numbers/locations/pics?
  5. Shoulda got a Honda minivan. I hear they come with a builtin vacuum in the cargo bay
  6. Welcome to the forum, Jeff, congrats on your '15 Sport!!! Would love to see some pics of the new rocket ride
  7. How many miles/kms do you have on the Edge, Leafsgal? Is it past the bumper2bumper warranty? Usually diagnostics cost are rolled into the cost of the repair. If you are just a little out of warranty (by time/mileage), you can contact FordServiceCA on this forum, see what might be able to work out for you. Post 4 more posts here to get PM privileges. Then PM FordServiceCA with vehicle & situation details to get the ball rolling.
  8. Good ole polarity! It'd be so much easier if something just didn't work rather than look like it was, but different Good to know info.
  9. Welcome to the world of the Ford Edge, Jeff, glad to have ya here! Not to put the evil eye on your Edge, but I hope you are keeping abreast with the hiccups the 2015 MY is having ... What color did you pick, and did you go with AWD or FWD?
  10. AWD = All Wheel Drive, where both front AND rear tires can be driven as needed. Most of the time, the AWD is in FWD (Front Wheel Drive) mode, but is ready to engage all wheels/tires as needed when slippage is sensed, or the driver suddenly steps on the throttle so that power is manageably put to the ground. The overall height of the wheel/tire combination affects what the system "senses" when it is gathering information as to how much power to apply where, because it assumes a] the overall height is the same at each corner of the vehicle, and b] the overall height is equal to the setting in the computer's memory So BOTH conditions must be satisfied for the AWD to work properly, but you have a leeway of +/- 3%. Outside of that, the AWD when called upon feels it cannot deal with the conditions, and can shut down, effectively putting the Edge into a FWD or limp-home mode. NOT a good thing, as it can destroy the PTU (power takeoff/transfer unit).
  11. Mine's a 2007, so it was a dropin replacement for halogen OEMs. Didn't/don't have to worry about projectors/cutoffs etc. like with HIDs in my application. Very different from the 2015 setup. They do work very well for me, unfortunately I didn't have a color choice at the time of purchase, so I am stuck with 6000K lighting. Would have gotten 4300K or 5000K if available. $160 in all for 4 bulbs (high beams, low beams).
  12. Don't know of anyone who's running any LEDs for the 2015, but GNERGY has vLED's product for his Edge, I have EBay TXT LEDs for mine. Very doable.
  13. Is the centerbore the same as for your Edge? The 2007 Edge is 70.6, 2011+ Edge is 63.4. Not sure on the Taurus, I THINK they are 63.4 also. You might need an adapter depending on the answer, shouldn't be a big deal if the Taurus wheels are same or larger centerbore than your Edge. 18x8 and 39 Offset looks OK.
  14. #1 Change the cabin air filter, probably filthy. Easy DIY. #2 Check to see if water drips under the car when standing after having used AC for some time. If not, it is clogged. There is a connection near the driver side of the center console under the carpeting you can access to blow it out. #3 Spray Lysol (or a foaming AC cleaner product such as from BG or Lubegard; follow instructions) in the vents via the windshield cowl with the engine running and heat on high/blower on high after doing the above. If you still perceive the problem, go in for the TSB fix.
  15. Use Carfax or Autocheck with your Edge's VIN to see where the Edge was originally registered. How long did you use it in Germany, do they salt roads there? Post 4 more posts here to get PM privileges. Then PM FordService (Tricia) with vehicle & situation details to get the ball rolling.
  16. My sympathies, rocky, I sincerely hope the cure was not the cause of the disease! It CAN be trying being on the forefront of a new design ...
  17. Yeah, sorry, don't know how this happened. I had posted in the other thread, then it completely disappeared in the NEW CONTENT view. So I reposted in the other thread, never saw it pop up in this one till now. Edited out
