  1. Check the Owners Manual, there is an AWD Gauge in the Instrument Cluster. If you have the base cluster (with a single display), it should be under information. If you have the 2 screens, it is under Display Mode.
  2. As per owners manual, Edges with push button start call for the BXT-65 battery while for the others BXT-59. So they both probably fit fine.
  3. ABS (with its vibration & sound) will kick in considerably more on snow & low traction situations compared to dry roads. If you want to test it, brake hard on a wet patch or some sand/gravel/mud.
  4. Brakes are ok? The booster could be leaking vacuum which could affect engine idle.
  5. Seems my memory isn't that good. Here is a thread were someone tried the opposite & while the mirrors bolted up fine, he had an issue with BLIS. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/14312-2013-mkx-mirror-size-vs-2011/
  6. I don't remember reading any post about someone doing the swap before, but since the mirrors were changed mid year in 2011 (Job 2 maybe), it is highly likely that the mirrors will be swappable directly except for the wiring for the LED signals. I checked my 2011 MKX (May'11 build with the old mirrors) & there are 2 empty slots in the harness. Also note that the new mirrors are considerably smaller, this means less wind noise AND less visibility.
  7. Try to remove the fuse & see what happens.
  8. If you have "Sony" written below the center speaker, then you have the Sony system. Also some speakers are actually 2 or more speakers together. I couldn't find an image for the Edge's Sony System, but the attached image for the MKX should be similar except for the slot speaker (3 speakers) where it is probably a single speaker in the Edge. Image taken from here: http://www.thx.com/consumer/automotive/2011-lincoln-mkx/
  9. It would depend, the older type module would be connected at the rear quarter panel while the newer module is installed in front under the steering wheel. Check this post by @candurin for details he provided: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/17035-adding-oem-remote-start-kits-parts-explained-detailed-2011/
  10. With. You will still use the same screen. Check the installation video to get a better idea of what it is.
  11. Just a thought, if you don't figure it out, you can still use the Lock-Pic which can add the rear view camera input among many other things. Or even the new MyTouch Air. https://www.coastaletech.com/mytouch2.htm https://www.coastaletech.com/mytouchair.htm
  12. I only read in 1 review that it might be upgradeable, but, Ford was clear when Sync3 was announced that older vehicles will not be upgraded due to hardware differences. So unless you get a clear confirmation otherwise, you should expect to remain on the same Sync version that comes with your vehicle. The review was from Car & Driver (http://www.caranddriver.com/ford/edge):
  13. There are 2 systems included in the front seat belts: pretensioners & energy management retractors. Pretensioners remove the slack in the seatbelts when an accident is detected. These are part of the buckle as thirdgenlxi stated above. Energy management retractors release (or adds some slack) to the seatbelts when a certain load is reached, when a person's chest is pressed hard on a shoulder belt that might cause injury the seatbelts would release a bit to reduce the load. Usually this is part of the retractor assembly.
  14. Another new option are the Philips Xenon X-tremeVision, which claim up to 50% more light (compared to standard HID), though I've never seen them on a vehicle so I can't say my opinion. http://www.lighting.philips.com/gb_en/application_areas/automotive/xenon-xtremevision.wpd But they are expensive, ~100 USD each bulb! http://hidconcept.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=223

  16. My guess the missing part is the rain sensor cover. Some vehicles faced a problem where the cover falls off in high heat. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/10763-2011-edge-sport-rain-sensor-cover-falling-off/ https://www.parts.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=store.PartInfo&PartNumber=BT4Z17D550A&VehicleID=313538&diagram=MS11335&Title%3DFORD-COVER
  17. +Customizable home screen, was there and gone. Ability to set a wallpaper only display, was & gone. Also, don't forget how many years it took Ford to reach version 3.6 with the stability that should have been there from the beginning. Early customers suffered a lot while waiting to reach this point, so Ford should compensate by at least giving more than just stability & at least for several years in the future as much as they made their customers wait for v3.6. And, don't forget all the hassles many went through during each update. All those downloads & dealer visits just to FIX MyFord Touch. YES, I would expect Ford to step UP & give us more features, not just basic fixes. Perhaps a petition should be started.
  18. The screen seems to be with Sync2 (MyLincoln Touch). Edit: or maybe not!
  19. Yes, legroom is less compared to many other cars, but there is a trick to get more legroom, set the seat lower. The power seat is designed in a way that when you lower the seat, it would actually go down at an angle (down & back), so for the most legroom, you need the seat to be at its lowest position.
  20. It's 325 hp & 375 lb/f for 2.7L EB compared to 305 hp & 280 lb/f for the 3.7L. Also note that the 2.7 EB numbers are for the F150, the Edge's are still not announced, and since the Edge has a weaker tranny (compared to the F150), torque is expected to be limited to 350 lb-ft similar to the 3.5 EB in the SHO & Explorer Sport.
  21. It's an EcoBoost 2.7L V6 that should be considerably more powerful than the outgoing 3.7L. The 2015 MKX still has the 3.7 because it's the same older modern (from 2011), the new MKX, based on the 2015 Edge is expected as a 2016 model. So only the 2015 Edge will be new. And don't be surprised if the 2016 MKX comes with something much better than the Edge as it is the higher end vehicle & costs more.
  22. This is the 1600XB from the MKX next to the 43mm Philips LED bulb.
  23. Those are easy to remove. But the trim around the shifter all seems to be removable as a single assembly.
  24. The Sport & Ecoboost models have different side skirts so the Husky mud flaps probably wouldn't fit correctly.
