  1. It always defaults to on when starting the vehicle. Your not supposed to feel a difference when your not towing.
  2. Congrats on the new ride, hope you enjoy it. Can you confirm if those front accent lights work as DRLs during the day?
  3. I would suggest to impair the phone, delete sync from your phone's Bluetooth devices then re-pair them. I am not sure about v1 of Sync, but if there is a master reset option in setting, do it.
  4. That should the factory DRL for an HID equipped Edge. A dealer might be able to enable using their equipment.
  5. There is this, but I don't know if it works fully on the Edge: http://www.mobileye.com/products/mobileye-5-series/
  6. I think you can use the same wires used for the rear greeting lights from this post: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/11431-led-puddle-lights/?p=118493
  7. Should be fine as the downloads are VIN specific. The 3.6 update I downloaded from the same site was an Export version meant for my non-US MKX. It was minus the files for 911 assist & vehicle health report which are not supported in our region.
  8. Ford vehicles don't have TPMS sensors in the Spare wheels.
  9. A 1989 Grand Marquis, that was in '98. It was the newest model I could afford on my budget, used to love the Panther!
  10. Mine used to come off, Dealer replaced them under warranty & they stayed ok for a while. 2nd time they did something else & are ok till now. Also under warranty. Take it your dealer while they off.
  11. Do you have a the Window Sticker? Is it mentioned in the options? If you don't have the window sticker, use the below link, just add the VIN at the end (after "="). http://fordlabels.webview.biz/webviewhybrid/WindowSticker.aspx?vin= You can also use the Ford ETIS website to find more details of the car, go to the vehicle tab & enter the VIN, once vehicle details come up, on the right lower corner, expand the "Minor Features" to check all the specs. https://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleSelection.do Though the vehicles we have here are "Export" models, the options & packages usually match those available in the US, and I have seen several 2012 Edge SEL with cloth seats, no MFT, with Backup Cam.
  12. What they should add first is full brake support with the collision warning system. The current system only pre-charges the brakes. Ford did announce the new system for the European Mondeo, hopefully it will also reach other models very soon. https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/news/2014/10/23/new-ford-pre-collision-assist-with-pedestrian-detection.html
  13. Would appreciate if you inform how it was done. Thanks.
  14. From Ford.com: Edge's Estimated Base Curb Weights(lbs.) FWD: 3912. (this is probably for the 2.0L). F-150's Base Curb Weight - 2.7L EcoBoost® V6, 4x2, Regular Cab, 6.5-ft., Styleside (lightest 2.7L variation): 4,168 lbs.
  15. From what I remember, only the Edge with push button engine start has the factory alarm. As for which to go with, especially if your considering remote start, is to with Ford's. They are easily installed and we'll integrated to the vehicle's system (using the OBD 2 connection).
  16. Yes, the warranty on the APIM (the brains of the MFT system) was extended to 5 years (6 for Lincolns) from purchase date without any mileage restrictions. R12M02 Warranty Extension - APIM.pdf
  17. The Edge/MKX seem to be the only Ford products with this issue (having to manually close the last ~6-8"). But they are also the only products with a real vista roof, where the larger glass panel is the one that actually opens & slides over the roof. Other Fords have a regular moonroof as the moving part with a larger fixed glass panel behind it to complete the panoramic roof (the moon roof slides under the rear glass panel). The only exception seems to be the 2013+ MKZ with the Panoramic roof which, as per the Owners Manual seems to close like the regular moonroof, but I did not try one myself.
  18. Believe it or not, turning off traction control is so rare that most "less involved" people won't find or even know about the Trac-off button and Some vehicles don't have a way to turn it off.
  19. Yes. This indicator was added in 2012 or 2013 so you can know that they are on. On my 2011 it is difficult to ascertain if the lights are on or not because these new instrument clusters are always lit, unlike older cars.
  20. They are now officially in production: https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/news/2015/02/26/production-of-the-all-new-2015-ford-edge-officially-kicks-off.html?scmp=social_20150226_41158546&adbid=571017596859842560&adbpl=tw&adbpr=15676492
  21. The page linked has wrong info as you can see the power rating for the 3.5L is the same as that for the 2.7L. The F-150 2.7L with higher output is listed with "regular fuel recommended": http://www.ford.com/trucks/f150/specifications/engine/ The specifications sheet for the Edge in Media.Ford also states 87 octane as the recommended fuel for the 2.7L. https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/asset.download.document.pdf.html/content/dam/fordmedia/North%20America/US/2015_Specs/2015_Edge_Specs.pdf Finally, the article were they announced the power output of the 2.7L for the Edge Sport did not mention Premium fuel requirement for the 2.7L while it did so when they mentioned the mentioned the power ratings of 2.0L. Note that the same article is a corrected version as when it was first released the stated that horsepower increased by 10% compared to the previuos Sport (3.7L) while it is now revised to state "delivers a small increase in horsepower over the previous". https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/news/2015/02/06/performance-and-power--2015-ford-edge-sport-certified-as-highest.html
  22. There are other non Ford IDS OBD 2 devices used by locksmiths that can program keys/fobs. The device can be used on many makes & models, not only Fords. I had a fob programmed to my MKX using one of them.
