  1. Don't wait too long, it will progressively become worse until it might become hard while braking even with the engine running.
  2. Did you try to re-insert the key in the ignition & remove it? Doors automatically unlocking after trying to look them usually is because the key is still in ignition. I'm not sure if it's the same symptoms, but could it also be that shifter is not registering that it's in P? As this problem is quite common.
  3. It is probably the Brake Booster failing. There is already an extended warranty on it. Check this topic: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/13888-13n02-extended-warranty-coverage-on-brake-booster/
  4. If I recall correctly, with factory trailer hitch, the kick should be on either side of the hitch. The attached image is from the 2015 owners manual & shows a wide area for the sensor.
  5. We are already starting to see temperatures of 50 degree Celsius (122 Fahrenheit), still July & August are hotter. Also, I believe one of the reasons is that customers here (culture in general) don't really get the concept of on-road crossovers. If it has AWD/4WD, they WILL drive it on the sand dunes, even in the summer. If Ford tells customers that the Edge is NOT for off-roading, they'd probably lose 90% of their customers.
  6. If you lock using the interior door switch then close the door, then it would unlock if it detects an intelligent key/fob inside. Locking the doors using the exterior keypad will always lock the doors regardless of the presence of an intelligent fob inside or not also regardless of the engine running or off.
  7. As per FordParts.com, the same price is listed for both 2015 & previous (2007-2014). So it is either the same part, or a new updated part that is still interchangeable with older models. Also, this listing states that there has been 7 updates already to the PTU, so it might really be updated: http://www.ebay.com/itm/251405265985
  8. If the 2011-2014 Edge Sport is any indication, it was never offered as an option, even though it was tow rated for 2000lbs. Edit: Towing Guide from Ford: http://www.fleet.ford.com/resources/ford/general/pdf/towingguides/Ford_Linc_15RVTTgde_Feb3.pdf
  9. I have tried the Active lane assist on a 2013 Explorer, it does NOT drive for you, but will nudge you back to the lane (steer you back) but after you touch the lane. It does not drive the vehicle you between the lanes. So, in theory, if you don't do anything, the car will swerve left & right between the 2 lanes. Hope you understand what I mean. Also, if you keep your hands off the steering wheel or pass the lanes a few times, it will sound a chime to alert you & remind you to hold the steering wheel.
  10. It is definitely not normal. I would suggest doing a Master Reset (would erase all personal data & phone pairings) & try without any flash drive or SD Card. If the problem still persists, take it to a dealer.
  11. The MFT has an extended warranty for 5 years unlimited mileage.
  12. Make sure your on the latest version, should be 3.6.2, then there was a TSB to fix the Ambient light resetting issue. But did not hear of a fix for the others. I also have the screen brightness issue in addition to the call & message ringtones resetting to default every week or so.
  13. Yes, it does steer you back if the setting is set accordingly.
  14. The 2011-2014 had a setting for "Memory" under Menu Control that when turned on will remember the last display in each category so you'd go to it directly when scrolling up/down without having to go to the right each time.
  15. May I ask how are the rear A/C vents, do they blow sufficient air? My MKX & previous '08 Taurus both have very weak airflow.
  16. They are yellowish probably because they are not HID. All Edges come with Projector headlights, but they come standard with Halogen bulbs. You have to have the 401A Equipment Group to get factory HID on the Sport.
  17. I can't give a 100% answer, but going 55 to 65 watts shouldn't be a concern. I had the same mod to an '08 Taurus & I never faced any problems except for the shorter life span of the H9's (~1 year).
  18. I didn't know how to tackle the issue, so I just stopped. Would like to get working if any ideas came on how to.
  19. H9 bulbs easily fit in place of H11s & they provide considerable more light & have higher temperature color. The 2 bulbs share identical filament position, only difference is in one of the fitting tabs. For the high beams, 9011 can replace 9005 again with much more light & higher color temperature.
  20. I think the 8 hour process is to reset the battery saver feature that is in the BCM. What's written in the owners manual is for the PCM (powertrain control module) relearning process.
  21. They feel like 2700k lights because they are (or close to 2700k). SEL models don't have HID lights, just regular halogen headlights.
  22. For newer Ford's, 100% means 1 year or 10,000 mile oil change interval, so if you wanted to change the interval to 6 months or 5,000 miles you'd set the life to 50%.
  23. I knew about it because the latest MFT update(s) stated something about turning off the feature during the update process. A very useful feature, in my opinion.
  24. May I ask why was the driveshaft replaced? What was the problem & was fixed? Thanks.
