  1. Jason, if we have to thank you for each credit you deserve, then I'd have to add it to my signature. Your contributions are countless. Now only if we can get more mods from you .
  2. Or you can add it for MUCH MUCH cheaper, search for ForScan mods & you'll find plenty of how to's. It would cost you the price of a maps SD Card & a compatible OBD connector.
  3. No go. I tried 2013 20" Explorer Limited wheel (the polished option) on my 2011 MKX & they rubbed the brake calipers on the front.
  4. This ABD edit enabled a menu in the instrument cluster to enable "Global Close" and it works, it will close the front windows, but not the sunroof/shade, by pressing & holding the lock button on the fob. Using Forscan I changed the following: 720-01-02 xxxx xXxx xxxx from "A" to "B". If you have previously disabled the fog light indicator, you'll then be changing it from "2" to "3". Credits to "sheltonfilms" from the Ford Explorer forums.
  5. When the clips broke on my MKX, I closed the sunroof with help from 2 people, each pushing the glass from one side at the back while I held the close switch inside. The strange thing is the the vent function is still working, but if I slide it open it won't close because of the broken clip.
  6. Unfortunately I am currently on a vacation & away from from car, hence can't see it to describe it. But it might be a 2011+ thing & therefore wouldn't be on present on your car.
  7. @gkyates The menu option came in the redesigned models (2015+).
  8. I am not sure if there is such an option, but there are hardware differences, HID Edges use H15 bulbs which have a low wattage filament that is used for DRL. A non-HID Edge has a 9005 high beam bulb that is of a higher wattage & thus will cause blinding to others on the road.
  9. WWWPerA_ZNOW, I believe there are 2 things at play here: 1- State of current battery charge, this is so the vehicle estimates the current battery state of charge (think 0-100% full). This is what gets reset when a vehicle is left untouched for 8+ hours. 2- The characteristics of the installed battery, how fast it charges/discharges and/or how long it keeps a charge. These would change with batter age and once a new battery is installed the BCM needs to know that in order to reset the parameters accordingly. There is also a battery capacity parameter, though as far as I know, does not apply to the Edge (1st gen at least).
  10. From IWRBB's link, the part fits 2008-2014 Ford Edge. So a part from an older Edge should work. This is also an alternative: http://m.ebay.com/itm/222531021663
  11. I noticed that Ford's recommendation for the subsequent changes are always shorter than the 1st time. For example, for a 2011 Edge/MKX with a normal maintenance schedule, this is the note mentioned in the owners manual: Initial replacement at 100,000 miles (160,000 km) or 72 months; every 50,000 miles (80,000 km) or 36 months thereafter.
  12. It is not a matter of a hard pedal as much as it is a safety issue to be able to get full braking power when you need it. My experience in my MKX is that it came gradually, from a hissing noise till not being able to brake on time. If you must use your car, just keep a safer distance & brake early.
  13. Further to akirby, what fan did you use for the replacement? Several members complained of non-Motorcraft fans giving them problems.
  14. Thanks. Also, please confirm if the green, yellow & red blocks of the rear sensing system also appear.
  15. Please keep updated. That will be a breakthrough & would save many a lot of $$. Can you post pictures of the camera?
  16. First, you can easily find a used one for much cheaper on eBay. Second, you can try to disconnect it to confirm if the issue goes away. If it does, try removing it & clean it. 17. If it is heat only, then it's the driver's side blend door actuator. You can try to disconnect it then reconnect it, it could solve it for a while, otherwise you'll need to replace it.
  18. As far as I know, and from all official releases, the update files were always the same for NAV & non-NAV versions. Edit: for Sync 3, yes, there are different update files for NAV & non-NAV, but not for MFT (Sync version 2).
  19. Might want to try the solution in this post: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/22667-what-a-mistake-it-was-to-buy-an-edge/page-2?do=findComment&comment=171727
  20. Installed these stickers for the driver's door keypad buttons due to the worn out numbers. Used the instructions in this post with a 15cm long flathead screw driver. Also since I was afraid the numbers would not lit up uniformly as the font/size do not match, I decided to rub off the old numbers completely using nail filer. outcome is OK, not quite like a new keypad, but nonetheless much better than before. The worn out keypad: All buttons erased: Put the stickers on 4 buttons: Finished: Finished at night:
  21. The vista roof front glass has what is like 4 legs (2 front + 2 back). The part number provided (number 14 in the diagram, right 7T4Z78502M78A & left 7T4Z78502M79A) though are described as "Slide Rail Front Extension" they look like the rear legs of the vista roof. The front legs look to be part of the rails (number 11, Lift Channel, right 7T4Z78502C06A & left 7T4Z78502C07A-"with a photo" for 2007-2010) and they more than $300 each!! My 2011 MKX is in the same situation, but didn't disconnect the switches (yet) since the shade still works & the roof can tilt & close, but if slide opened would not close. Would be a great middle solution if I can only disable the slide function & leave the tilt & shade functions working.
  22. Unfortunately, many dealers & mechanics prey on uninformed & inexperienced customers. Makes a case for those to buy new cars with long warranties. For the Hazard button, check this thread: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/22667-what-a-mistake-it-was-to-buy-an-edge/page-2?do=findComment&comment=171971 A new alternator is about $230 and both belts about $30. So this means they are charging ~ $680 for labor to change them, I think that's a little high. And definitely don't do the other things. http://www.tascaparts.com/auto-parts/2011/ford/edge/limited-trim/3-5l-v6-gas-engine/maintenance-and-lubrication-cat/belts-and-pulleys-scat http://www.tascaparts.com/ford/edge/8g1z10346a/2011-year/limited-trim/3-5l-v6-gas-engine/electrical-cat/alternator-scat/?part_name=alternator
