  1. Forgive my memory of old Windows Mobile days, we used the terms soft & hard reset quite a bit.
  2. Hard reset of the phone might be a little extreme to start with. I'd suggest to start by unpairing Sync from your phone and unpairing your phone from sync. Restart both phone & vehicle & re-pair them. If still not OK, master reset Sync & re-pair. If still no go, Hard reset the phone.
  3. Sync on the 2013 Edge Sport is called MyFord Touch. There is no specific bad year for the system. It might fail just like any PC or electronic device. The complaints surrounding it were interested the early software versions that really had many bugs and shut down on owners preventing access to HVAC & audio. With latest software updates, it is pretty reliable, as long as you don't expect it to respond like a modern tablet. In short, it is slow, but not bad. Don't let it be the reason for not going for a car you like.
  4. It is called the blend door actuator, as far as i know. Even though it is a common issue, considering the number of Edges on the road, it is not that big of an issue. Also this is the first time I read of someone who had it fail in six months. Did your mechanic use an OEM part? Do you have dual climate control? If yes, is the issue happening on both sides? Because if you have dual zone climate, then you have 2x actuators that work independently.
  5. Definition of "Perimeter" is: "the continuous line forming the boundary of a closed geometric figure." So it makes sense that they mean it does NOT moniter inside the vehicle nor glass breakage that does not technically change the perimeter of the vehicle. Or at least as akirby stated, to differentiate between this system & the older "PATS" (passive anti-theft system) or more advanced systems with interior, breakage, impact or tilt sensors. If I memory serves me right, it was also called perimeter alarm on the 99 Mercury Sable my family had those days.
  6. PDF Window stickers were previously accessible for Ford vehicles, it was useful to find out what options were included in a particular vehicle when searching used cars. But for some reason the have limited the access recently. Maybe they were afraid of too much info being easily accessed by anyone with the VIN number, especially when the MSRP was also in the PDF file.
  7. As far as I know, Perimeter Alarms on Fords are monitor Doors, Lift-gate & Hood. If any is opened the alarm will sound. The impact sensor is an add-on, not factory installed. But maybe for 2015+ that changed as I remember reading on some security option available for them.
  8. Is it a factory Alarm or an add-on? It shouldn't do that. I suggest you take it to your dealer.
  9. May I also add, as far as i know, in case you don't have rain sensing wipers (or they are disabled), then the regular intermittent speeds are probably speed sensitive. From the Owners manual:
  10. If the wiper stalk has "AUTO" written on it then it has auto wipers. Also in the left screen cluster display, there should be an option under settings to enable/disable it and there would be a sensor on the windshield behind the rear view mirror on the passenger side.
  11. If there is no coolant, the fail safe cooling system should kick in when engine temperature is high.
  12. If water is that high, I think it could also damage all wheel bearings & the rear diff (AWD). So it would still be a no go regardless of AWD or FWD.
  13. Also the clockspring is different for vehicles equipped with heated steering wheel. At least that is the case for pre 2015 models.
  14. Here are photos I just took. Hope they give you a clear picture. Just realized I forgot to take a picture before trying to remove the switch . But you get the idea from the 1st pic.
  15. You should be able to use 9011 (high beam bulbs) in 9012 housings in the same way 9005 are used in 9006. Much shorter life, but also a significant upgrade.
  16. Also make sure the notches on the caliper align correctly to the nipples on the pads.
  17. I was going for a new 2013 Taurus Limited when I found my 6 months old ~2k miles MKX for less price. More luxurious with more features & had 6 months longer warranty balance. It was a great deal.
  18. If possible, it will be difficult. I'd suggest you get one of those Kenwood or Pioneer units that give you everything including Android Auto & Apple CarPlay.
  19. My 2011 has a light in the glove box. Checking the part number, it's not really expensive. Also the same switch is used in the 2011+ Explorer & MKS. http://www.tascaparts.com/oe-ford/8a5z14413a
  20. As per this post it is a is a simple bolt-in.
  21. So the cleaning fixed the issue for the time being? That is good to hear.
  22. It is a touch sensitive panel. I guess it would either work or not if it was a loose connection. Removing the panel is not really difficult. This gives you an idea what it looks like from the back. The first minute in this video shows how to remove it, very simple:
  23. Photo is very small, can't zoom in.
  24. If you don't have NAV, then you should not have any problems. If both, the Fusion & and Edge have NAV, then also no problems, in case the Fusion did NOT have Nav but the Edge does, there is a small chance of losing NAV. That's what I understood from this whole update becoming dealer only. Also, note that there is a 3.10 version available at dealers. So if you are still under warranty, just take it to the dealer to get the 3.10 version.
  25. Try cleaning the passenger side (-) temp button, it seems like it is being pressed. You can also try a battery disconnect to reset the electronics. Last suggestion if it still doesn't work is try to clean the button from behind after removing the panel.
