Being in the GCC, Ford vehicles are often programmed differently due to the different climate & regulations. Having a 2011 MKX (basicall an Edge Sport with more Luxury), I know that once the A/C is turned on, BOTH fans will run regardless of engine coolant temperature (at variable speeds based on temp & vehicle speed). One thing might be different between your Sport & my MKX, is that I have the factory Towing Package while no Edge Sport has it, the Towing Package gains a larger radiator & bigger or higher capacity fans, but then again, being in the GCC, maybe all Edges already have that additional cooling. One way to check is to see the engine compartment fuse box, with the Tow Package fuse# 39 is 40 amps & there is also another 40 amps fuse at #40. Without the tow package you get only a single 60 amp fuse at #39 (#40 would be empty). But like what Mact & WWWPerfAZNOW stated above, 99% of the time you need a new fan assembly, and original MotorCraft is the way to go, and it only comes as a complete unit (both fans with the module & housing), but AED 2500 is high in my opinion. I purchased mine for QAR 1400 (1 QAR ~ 1.01 AED) and UAE prices are generally cheaper than here in Qatar, I had a chance to save ~ QAR200 if I was willing to buy it from a re-seller instead of directly from the Dealer, but I then would have to have waited another day and my was not derivable in the summer. But the benefit of a dealer install is easier warranty repair, I have been struggling with the dealer to get my replacement fan replaced under warranty due to fan vibration & they are still refusing to admit it is a defect.

Airbag light coming on is NOT normal & NOT associated with an APIM failure. But you did state the you get a battery saving message, maybe it is battery that is shot. With new cars, a bad battery would cause a lot electronics to go haywire.

The broken arms would part of a ~$320 part for each side (post with links to them). they might have quoted for additional parts since they are already working on it. By the way, if you do get it fixed, also replace the rear arms. Compared to the fronts, they are relatively cheap (~$50/- each).

Do you also get the beep sound similar to when touching the controls? or maybe see the fan speed icon in the left bottom corner? This is just to confirm that it might be some grease or dirt causing the control panel to register touches. If that is the case, maybe a thorough cleaning will help. Another stop would be to take of the panel & try to clean it from behind (might need to disassemble it), last thing might be a defective panel. Others might have better ideas.

EBay now has cheap aftermarket cameras for around $60 or less. As for the guidelines, you'd need a dealer to calibrate the camera to get them, or use ForScan with a compatible adapter.

If they are the same as the MKX, the whole rear panel pulls out, then disconnect the wiring for the 12v power point to completely remove the panel. Then you'll find that the baby's are held in with screws. I did couple of years ago, so memory might not be that accurate.

Just to be sure, you tried the method linked my posted but it did not work? Also, with the actuator removed, did you try to move the linkage manually? Did the temperature change?

What did you set the temperature at? The defrost air will be at a level depending on what you set it at.

There is no problem leaving an IA key fob in the vehicle & locking/unlocking via the keypad. The only security risk is if the intruder finds were the fob is & presses the unlock key which is the same risk if the found the key of a regular ignition vehicle.

This metal sound when starting the engine I used to here it when I first started an engine after an oil change, but those were older cars were also the oil pressure light would also remain on for 1-2 seconds after the 1st start post an oil/filter change. The idea of multi-viscosity oils, as far as I learned, was to cover such scenarios, for a 5W-20 oil, at cold engine startups, cold oil would act as an oil with "5" viscosity grade, then when the oil warms up it will become a "20" level.

A regular OBDII scanner (at least most of them) would not read codes set by modules other than the PCM (a check engine light). Use ForScan with a compatible adapter to read the codes set the other modules. Also, from my experience with my MKX, the ABS/Trac. Control light sometimes comes on for no apparent reason while disconnecting/connecting the battery or resetting the trouble codes, reseting the codes again or a battery disconnect would clear it immediately or a even an engine/ignition restart does, reading the code while it is lit reveals some sort of miscommunication error (which I think is due to the power being cut-off).

Make sure you get the right one for your Edge, the difference is whether your Edge has the factory tow package or not. Otherwise, the fans are the same for 2011-2014 Edges. Also, I think Dorman now has the fan modules separate, so if that is what's failing, maybe you don't need to replace the whole assembly.
